361  Economy / Gambling / Re: [SafeDICE.com] Low 0.5% Var House Edge - Fast Cashout & Bet - True Provably Fair on: December 10, 2014, 06:10:15 PM
JD had a house edge of 1% but its profit was just 0.35% after a billion bets.

look at clam house profit right now 3.40%

Right, and it was around 4.5% yesterday I think.

Now going up again to 3.6%.. recently Dooglus is being lucky, in gambling and investing Cheesy

I think game is frozen right now

yeah, seems to be stuck at the login screen

Sorry for the inconvenience guys. We just have to increase our security level because of DoS-ing attempt. Everything is back to normal again now Smiley

400 BTC wagered and more than 500,000 bets now, thanks for playing guys! Smiley

But the profit is in negative. Is 0.5% house edge Safe? Grin

By the rules of math it should get positive eventually.

Sure, thank you for your interest to invest. Please wait up to 24 hours, we will open your investment in the next patch Smiley

It's still locked for me.

Hello pawel, not so long after you asked us, there was another user asking for investment feature. Sorry I mistakenly thought that is your account. The feature should be on your account right now.

I like the site. I'm up 0.1

Congratsss Cheesy Cheesy

Just be aware that "eventually" can take an awfully long time, especially when 99% of the bets on your site are effectively zero-sized compared to the biggest bets.

JD had a house edge of 1% but its profit was just 0.35% after a billion bets.

Yes.. Our current homework is to find more players / wager. Even though the profit is negative, the amount is insignificant in the long run, when the bankroll size is bigger and we got more wager.

@doog: please try again one more time, should be working now Smiley

Yes, it did work this time.

Thanks!

I'm pretty busy with other stuff now, so have been withdrawing (or trying to withdraw, at least!) from sites where I held a balance.

I'm happy overall with my experience at SafeDice. The variable house edge is a nice feature, and the 0.5% minimum house edge is very competitive. The owners are usually very responsive to bug reports and suggestions (this withdrawal problem took quite a while to resolve, but that's the only issue that didn't get resolved almost immediately).

I wish you good luck going forward. Smiley

Hi Doog, its ok... We are so happy to get reports, feedback and suggestion from the expert in this business.

Of course I understand that you will be quite busy with JD running again. All the best for JD too, hopefully all went smooth with clam... Smiley

Helloooo... Sorry for the waiting and thanks for being patience Doog. It should be working now. I just add a small compensation to your balance as our apology.

It still isn't working. I see the 0.05 comp (thanks!) but I still can't withdraw it:

[...]

Edit: and wiping out all the fields when it fails is annoying. It says to try again, but makes it really annoying to do so.
I am also getting the same error when trying to withdrawal.

I just tried withdrawing my balance, and it wouldn't let me: "withdrawal limit exceeded" or similar.

What is the withdrawal limit? Why isn't it mentioned in the FAQ? And how can I get my coins?

Hi doog, really sorry for this, it it safety limit when we have to move our fund from cold to hot storage (our cold wallet is higher than total bankroll because of the recent losses). You can wait while we transfer from our cold wallet or I'll send you manually to your latest withdrawal request.

Edit: you can try again after the next block Smiley
Edit: its ready now Smiley

Thanks.

I tried again, and this time got a different error message:

Edit: I tried asking for 1 satoshi less, thinking maybe it's a rounding error, but that didn't help.

Hi dooglus, Frank from SD here. We are really sorry for the inconvenience, admin did send coins from the cold wallet but missed to fix the limit. Now admin is away from the computer and will be back in 3~4 hours.

We're sincerely sorry for this, so here's the solution, you can withdraw 1 BTC from your account first, and I'll send you the rest manually, when admin comes back he will empty your balance.

i read the chat and i think admin already did fixing this  Wink

I have 1 confirmation, yet I have no balance on the account.

EDIT: I got the deposit, but 1 confirmation wasn't enough.

One confirmation is enough. Last time it happens due to network lag  to our node. We'll check about this, sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry for the confusion, it is intentional. You don't really have access to the invest feature by affiliate earnings, you can only divest, but not invest. We'll try to make in more intuitive in the next patch.

OK, thanks. Would you unblock this option for me if possible? My username: pawel7777

One from me:

How does investment works? I understand it's supposed to be temporarily disabled. My affiliate earnings are auto-invested tho, giving me the access to 'invest' feature, but when I divested all, this option disappeared again. Is it intentional or a bug?

Seems you the house lost more, won by the same player?

yes, it was "jimbob" again. house is down around 4.5btc atm

He is using 0.5% H.E. in most of the time, anyone else want to try? Smiley

And... We just pushed few updates to the site:
  • Showing total amount of commission from referral program
  • Showing list of referred players with more than zero wager
  • Feature to create an invitation link with preloaded balance (credit goes to shitaifan)
  • Changing font size to 13px for better readability
  • More explanation about variable house edge, commission, and referral system
  • Fixed divest all function which sometime lefts few satoshis when there are other people playing

SafeDICE,

I am attempting another withdrawal from my winnings and I am getting a "withdrawal limit exceeded" error.  What gives?

Sorry for the inconvenience, canthread, please wait a minute.

Edit: please try again now Smiley

Edit: guess you already make your withdrawal, congratulation on your winning! http://safedice2ge73n2g.onion/bet/333917 will be a loss on flat 1% H.E. Tongue
375  Economy / Gambling / Re: [SafeDICE.com] Low 0.5% Var House Edge - Fast Cashout & Bet - True Provably Fair on: December 06, 2014, 06:08:04 AM
A couple of issues I'm having:

* I often have to hit the 'divest all' button 2 or 3 times before anything happens. Is it very slow, or does it really just ignore my clicks sometimes?

* When it does finally divest, it sometimes leaves a small amount (I've seen 1 and 11 satoshis) invested.  All means all, guys! Smiley

Sorry for the inconvenience caused doog, the client send 'divest all' request in term of coins, in effect:
[1] In the meantime the data travels the network your investment dropped several sats, when the server receives your request, you don't have those amount of investment and got rejected
[2] In the meantime the data travels, your investment increased several sats, those 1 - 11 sats difference was left in the server

This issue wouldn't be noticed if there are no constant bets happening, but it seems that our little site has grown a bit. We will fix this soon!

I'm at 2 confirms about to be 3 and it's supposed to hit at 1 confirm. I'm not the only one having that issue also.

Took longer than usual but all good now. Thanks!

Maybe because its weekend. No one is manning the site.

Just wait. Dooglus

We are here! Wink

And guyss.. We also have done some improvement in the client side performance, hopefully it runs smoother on your browser now Smiley

When I first visit the site, I see this:

[...]

I guess that's a kind of bug.

That's FUAC (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_of_unstyled_content), happened when you haven't completely download the site. Will check on this! Smiley

The site is now load only after the translation has been completely downloaded.

Having good and shiny design doesn't mean a site is good.

You added a lot of features to the site after going public. This mean you are really amateurs. But good luck with your laggy site.
I would rather player on a site run by a enthusiastic, than by a lazy profesional.

if its a lazy, why would he bother working on the suggestions made by his players?

I don't really understand the criticism. I can't think of a single site that launched with their site in its finished form.

Google added gmail after launch. Does that make them really amateurs?

Even in the world of dice sites, SatoshiDice has had numerous facelifts, PD is on its 3rd incarnation, etc.

Thank you guys! What we have done so far is just the beginning Smiley

Is the list of referred players showed anywhere at all? I can't find it.

I remember seeing that asked (and answered) before, but can't find it now.

I think the answer was "the list isn't shown, but the payments go through anyway" or words to that effect.

It would be better if you could see a report listing of all the people you had referred, how much they gambled, how much that earned you, and the percentages.

Hope it's just temporary. The list (names + earnings) is a must imo.

according to the admin it's on their list to add, including also a tip log for sent/received tips.

but I don't have any idea when this update will be pushed.

the tip is already implemented and they will do additional add ons next week.

Sure, those referral list is on its way, wait for them on this week end Wink Thanks for the suggestion!

New feature added...

User can tip another user by typing in chat box:
/tip <username> <amount>

More features will come this week end, wait for it! Smiley

  • L and H hotkeys will only switch the setting, not rolling them

Well that saves me one bug report - "my 'h' key stopped working!!!"

Here's another though:

I set my bet size while my balance was 0. The stake was shown in red because it was more than my balance. Then I clicked 'divest all'. Now I had enough to make the bet, but the stake was still shown in red. You should re-evaluate whether the bet is legal after each divest/divest/deposit/withdraw action I think.

I had to edit the stake value before it realised I now had enough.

So let me quote a famous coder phrase *that's a feature, not a bug*  Cool

And the stake box is now evaluating the balance anytime it changes, thanks for noticing Doog! Cheesy
380  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does gambling sites allow Tor ? on: December 04, 2014, 06:47:20 AM
At least our site http://safedice.com has an onion address too: http://safedice2ge73n2g.onion/

feel free to try it and tell us your opinion Cheesy

Dont u allow tor on your normal URL ? How did u get that .onion address ? Is there anything illegal associated to it ? Is there any vulnerability like XSS attack etc for having a .onion address ?

Normal URL allows TOR, but if you use TOR, it will be safer if you access the site through .onion address: http://www.btcfeed.net/news/rogue-tor-node-hijacked-blockchain-info-accounts/.

Using TOR doesn't mean you are doing something illegal, it is just a technology that protect your privacy. Regarding vulnerability, it is just like having multiple domain for the same site.
