101  Economy / Services / Re: SafeDICE.com Signature Campaign - Weekly payouts up to 0.025 BTC + bonuses on: July 07, 2016, 04:24:38 PM
Hi, I'd like to sign up for signature + avatar.

My BTC addy: 1CstuTvCxadzEq3GzxTsDpB55VJJTJoScd

But I wouldn't mind getting paid directly to my SD account, username: pawel7777 if that's an option (it should be!)

Are we allowed to replace links in the sig with referral links? It would be great.

ps. Both signatures seem to be aligned left, rather than one being centred.

Thank you pawel!

I have discussed with Alex about the payment, I think it's great if we can just pay directly to SD account. If anyone want to do the same, please reply to this thread with your SD username and your ID (just to be secure, please also create password after registering).

We are also ok with sig with referral links Smiley

Thank you Seuntjie for taking the time calculating them and helping to respond.

I did a recheck myself but everything looks fine. % ownership change in accordance to the kelly, however:
1) Remember that if you invested a large amount, your investment will change the amount virtual bankroll itself
2) Take a look at the loading bar above the site, make sure it is completely loaded. The site needs to download the latest amount so it can calculate your % correctly

The numbers are still off like they were before. Right now the actual bankroll 57.8 btc. So assuming average kelly at the site is 1.36x as Seuntjie suggested, the virtual bankroll is around 78.6 btc.

So my question is what percentage of the bankroll will a 1btc 2x kelly investment have in a 78.6 btc bankroll?

Here is what I calculate using Seuntjie's formula (your total invested (1btc)* your kelly(2x))/virtual bankroll(78.6btc)*100 = 2.54%. Can someone please confirm this?

Seuntjie's formula is correct, however the amount of virtual bankroll is a bit off, currently it is between 140-150 btc. If you wonder why it can be higher than 2x of bankroll, it is because there are few people with kelly higher than 2x: former investors who already set their kelly higher than 2x before I changed the system, and myself.

This is a valid observation, and I want to inform you that from now on , there will be more focus on support and community, since I will be assisting Sam with support, replying to your questions here on btctalk, and other new projects.

Important notice:

We will be starting a signature campaign soon, so please check out this thread on a regular basis.

Also there are more exciting stuff in the works right now, that I cannot yet discuss but you will find out about it in due time.

We are looking forward to welcoming new players and investors, and there are exciting times ahead of us.

Best Regards,
Alex

So are you the PR person from the vacancy advertised here?:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1411417.0

or are you only responsible for customer support?

This is great, but I'd like for Sam to just confirm this is legit and that you're not just someone trying to take advantage of the situation.

+1

Thanks for asking pawel & seuntjie Smiley I have been in contact with Alex recently, I confirm he'll help me with the support on this forum

At least the automated withdrawals work smoothly.

Except not even all the time.

I know, from what I've read I consider myself lucky.

SafeDice has delayed withdrawal in the past, yes, just like any other site. But most of the time it was of a hot wallet problem, and most of the time it works flawlessly, even in a rare case it is not working I can always process them manually. I'm sorry if this caused you inconvenience

Worst support on dice gambling so far.
Kept my cash for 3 days.
I would have made 5btc by now.
Worst site

This is the only time i know they took too long to respond in issues on their site. Maybe the admin is really busy on his/her real life. I wonder if safedice have only 1 man to answer support tickets
I don't care if he is busy fucking. He is suppose to  reply to monetary emails fast . its not like I was begging him for cash. Useless site

1) You asked for access to your account, yet you provide me with no proof of ownership other than your username, you cannot even provide me the address that you used to deposit. You should be more worried if I gave you the access to your account in the first day
2) I politely replied your emails in less than 24 hours
3) You provide me your ownership proof only after 3 days. I gave you the full access after that

I really don't understand why anyone invests in SD when it clearly has a fu**** up investment system and an absentee owner who doesn't respond to problems.

It wasnt that bad before the site lose major amount, owner was still quite active back then however ever since the site suffered those major lost then everything seems to be turning down lately perhaps owner has lost interest on the site. Back then it was a quite popular dice site, so anyone would invest in there

Not true....look at their profit over time. Certainly looks like the owner is withdrawing a large amount every now and then disguised as a win.

If you look from the 'bad' side then it is how it is however you can say with certainty that it was the owner not a legit player that actually won something from the site. I dont really see this as the owner pulling some tricks but dicesites.com totally shows that this site is still a hot stuff to some players https://dicesites.com/safedice

Massive frequent losses like that? Very unusual...
Really hard to trust a gambling sites, but anyway that is their main business to make profit and we cannot conclude yet if they are making a wrong move to suffer their investor. In my case, I have already withdrawn my money in this site and transferred it to moneypot.

Most of the losses came from investors who use 10x kelly. Imagine you have 100 BTC and you invest like you own 1000 BTC. It feels normal when you own 1000 BTC and loss 50 BTC, but it is a shock if you own 100 BTC and loss 50 BTC.

Even with 1x kelly, Just-Dice once has a negative profit after a year of operation. I learned the effect of this on PR the difficult way, so I reduce the max kelly into 2x.

Your invested balance is shown as actual invested. The total invested in the site is shown as Actual invested, but your percentage is shown as your virtual investment vs total virtual investment.

So Total invested: 100 Btc
Your total Invested: 1 Btc
Your kelly: 2x.
Your virtual Investment: 2 btc.
Total virtual investment: unknown.

So if you're the only person with a 2x kriteria in the whole investment, the virtual bankroll will be 101 (99 coins invested at 1x kelly, + 1 coin invested at 2 kelly = 101), thus your percentage = 2/101*100=1.98.

According to my own investment, the virtual bankroll should be at around 70.9 Btc. So if you calculate your percentage as (your total invested * your kelly)/70.9*100, you should get about the same percentage as shown on the site (there will be some difference in the decimals because of rounding on my side and yours etc, and if the site wins/loses a few coins between me posting this and you calculating it yourself, it's also going to make a difference).

Interesting note here: The average kelly of the site is 1.9x. That means that everything but around 2 coins is invested at 2x kelly.

How are you calculating the virtual investment size? If the average Kelly is 1.9x and the current actual bankroll is 51.5, the virtual bankroll should be around 98ish, not 70.9

Using 70.9 as the virtual bankroll my percentage is even further apart than what I'm calculating.

If I assume that everyone is around 1.9x kelly my percentage adds up now, but only if my investment is treated like a 1x Kelly. This makes no sense because the virtual bankroll should be a lot smaller if my investment is treated as 1x.

I might be taking my money off until I can get this discrepancy resolved.

I looked at the wrong number sorry, virtual investment is around 70.9 and average kelly is around 1.36

Yea something seems really strange with my account. I'll show an example of what 1 btc does to the bankroll from my account.

Currently the bankroll is at 44.7 btc, so virtual bankroll should be around 60.8 btc. The numbers are still off in both scenarios. If I assume that everyone is invested at 1x kelly with a bankroll of 44.7 btc and I invest 1 btc at 2x kelly my % should be around 4.5%. If I assume virtual bankroll is 60.8 btc, my 1btc 2x Kelly investment should be around 3.2%. Please correct my if my numbers are wrong.

Here are my actual numbers on the site investing 1 btc with 44.7 btc bankroll. 2x kelly - 1.54%, 1x kelly - 0.76%, 0.5 kelly - 0.38%.

For whatever reason it appears my investment is being treated as 1x Kelly vs the virtual bankroll, even though its at 2x kelly. 1x kelly vs the virtual bankroll is 1.6%. 2x kelly is 3.2%. I'm actually getting 1.54%. So I can't get 2x kelly on this site. I'm being shorted almost half my investment somehow, unless my math is wrong.

I'm not implying something malicious, it could just be some kind of system error. In the meantime my money is off the site until I can get a response from the owner.

I think nope, safedice already had been more than 1.5 years, so i doubt that would be happen. Just like their site "safedice" your money will "safe" too  Grin

I hope so!!! At this moment I am getting nervous !

safedice.com website has been down for a while now with Error 522 message. Was the site hacked? Would be nice to have an update here so that we can all feel "safe" about our bitcoins...
Since last 1 or 2 weeks several dice sites had DDoS attacks, it's pretty likely just some DDoS (which is not hacking.)

But I agree an update would be good and I hope it doesn't take too long.

safedice.com website has been down for a while now with Error 522 message. Was the site hacked? Would be nice to have an update here so that we can all feel "safe" about our bitcoins...

They do tend to be having server issues quite often, but don't see how is that indication of site being hacked. It was up this morning (last time I checked) and there was some decent action yesterday evening.

Give it a bit of time and don't be panicking just yet.

My apologies and thank you very much for being patient. We are down now and I'm currently working on this matter, nothing to worry about. I know for sure everything will be back to normal, but this will takes some time (expect 1-5 hours), please be patient.

Edit : Site's up! We're back!

Dude don't call me a troll when you still have my Btc for more than 2 days. Am only talking a little nicely because I didn't deposit up to or above 1btc. If you want to run a site that involves peoples money you should be able to reply to enquiries fast. Especially enquiries related to cash deposit or withdrawal.
Where you expecting me to jump in here and start saying your site is good or the best when u won't  reply to aa simple emil  fast?
I emailed you and all I get is a very slow response.
Am still waiting to get my Btc.

This is 3rd day and cant still get my cash. So if I had deposited like 2or more Btc , this is what would have happened right?

Sorry to make you wait, I already asked you to prove your account ownership in < 24 hours and your response was using a method that isn't trivial and I need to wait to see that the account is truly inactive. Please don't make a wrong impression of the amount, the amount is less than half hundredth of btc. Nevertheless, I already gave you link to access the account

I won't call a site that takes your Btc and not reply to emails for more than 24hourz a good site.

Please do not troll here.

I won't call a site that takes your Btc and not reply to emails for more than 24hourz a good site.

I suppose admin is not monitoring the site every singe hour so another wait for atleast 24 hours wont really hurt. Besides with the bankroll dropping after the huge hit, I doubt admin will be trying to make his customer angry since it will be the last thing he wants to do if he want his site to survive

Thanks for the constructive feedback. I'll find a way to improve the service response, in the meantime I usually respond around that duration.
110  Economy / Gambling / Re: SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Since 2014 on: May 14, 2016, 03:59:58 PM
There is only 4.75 btc in the cold wallet address 1SD1ciWyeDNf26YoAUjSsifQZK1ShFJ2s while the bankroll is about 23 btc. OP, it is probably time to move some bitcoin from your hot wallet to your cold wallet.
Wallet explorer for hot wallet: https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/SafeDice.com shows only 1.58 btc! That's total of 6.3 btc left in bankroll  Shocked

I also have an experience before with a problem of withdrawal but the admin solve the problem the soonest possible time. Base on my experience, this site can be trusted and as you have observe they are already operating for a longer time and I am sure they will not sacrifice the credibility of their site as they are earning huge money from it.

@ Maximuss
I just transferred back 10 BTC from hot storage to cold storage. The wallet explorer isn't very accurate and we have some more addresses

@ Finestream
Thank you so much !

bubolino, deposits are working absolutely fine. the source of the delay must be coming from your end..and the reason the site says the balance will reflect after one confirmation is because, it does. my deposit landed today, after...*one* confirmation.

Admin: please fill the hot-wallet with enough coin to pay out 10 BTCTC + ... players should not have to continuously ask like this, I understand trying to remove the target for thieves//hackers - and I wouldn't mind if this happened occasionally - but i still have not been able to withdrawal a fairly large balance but in small pieces for over two days now. Please rectify this ASAP..other than that, the site is operating just as it should and always has. Thank you for that.
deposit not work
it has been 24 houris and still my balance is zero there is nothing to respect I have deposit the money is gone there is no respond form the admin of the page so three is nothing that I can be happy about
and how you will explain that there is only one player that play or at least this is what  is shown on the site ? I`m talking about XMR at BTC there is more but when there is trouble with XMR deposit I can`t expect that with BTC everything will be fine

My apologies for the inconvenience caused and for my late response. XMR deposit should work fine, I just got few other XMR deposits. I'll restart the node, meanwhile can you please send me the detail of your transaction to safedice@protonmail.ch ? (amount, tx id , payment id) . I promise you'll get your deposit if you did everything correctly. Thank you

I would still like to know what happened to the 100 BTC withdrawal. Were the issues resolved surrounding that?

From our perspective, we processed everything according to standard withdrawal procedure. My last update was in response to pawel's question https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=868275.msg14597167#msg14597167 , no updates since then, except for changes in the kelly and maximum win calculation

Site is down again. Any update.

Site's up! Happy rolling!

Is there an update on if the "max win" per bet was changed recently? It is no longer displayed at the top right of the interface.

While total wagered and bets is useful information, I think both players and investors would rather know the current max win per bet instead.

Apologies if it's somewhere obvious on the site that I cannot find.

P.S. I noticed the option to invest at 5x kelly has been removed recently. Interesting, care to explain why? Thanks.

Yes Sora, we are testing with 2x max kelly and 2% max win, we do this to reduce the effect of variance to the bankroll. We prefer our investment to go slowly but surely

Max win is still displayed in the betting box next to the profit on win

Site is down again. Any update.

yeah same with me im cannot acces SafeDice

My apologies for the inconvenience caused, I'm working through this. This is an old trouble, nothing serious but it will take some time to fix. I'm currently trying to fix this for good, but it will take a few hours, really sorry

1) I already reached out to Anton, gave him my reasoning , what happened from my point of view, and another theory of this chaos

So what's the most likely scenario of what happened from your perspective? Is he simply lying, or was it a case of compromised account (and email?).

4) I'll change the way the kelly system works to avoid similar things happened in the future

I'm not an expert, but wouldn't capping the max profit (at 20%, 30% or even 50% of current bankroll) solve the issue?

1) I will not accuse anyone without a solid proof as an operator. But whatever the scenario is, we've done throughout the procedure. Hugger's account has never been compromised, despite setting  2 factor auth few days ( not immediately ) after his huge winning

4) Thank you for your idea, but it is not that simple, investors may abuse it by always setting to 10x kelly, they will get a greater share while risking less. I think the only fair solution is to minimize maximum kelly to 2x - 5x. I was not very comfortable doing this before for a simple reason : some people will realize that his kelly was changed without the consent and thought that his account was compromised or I'm trying to keep them away from profiting

Quote
I'm not an expert, but wouldn't capping the max profit (at 20%, 30% or even 50% of current bankroll) solve the issue?

What is the issue exactly?

Player being able to win almost entire bankroll in a single bet.

The investor can't have both increased expected value and profits AND remain risk adverse.

With SafeDice's setup (up to 10x kelly), you need to realize that it's favouring investors who prefer the former rather than the latter and really there's no problem with that.

You can't expect to have fast and steady profits without taking a risk of ruin.  It's not designed this way.  IMO, these investment options are quite attractive and should provide a good return, however people shouldn't be regarding these investments as can't lose investments expecting them to never break.

Investors shouldn't be putting more than what they can afford to lose in this (or any) bankroll and instead should be adjusting according to their preferred balance of tolerance of risk and profit sought.

It's not the kelly system. SD disregards the kelly system at higher bets and adjusts the house edge to compensate. That's the issue here.

I believe it's a mixture of both.  It used to be that the rate of the floating house edge variable would mean that you could only win that much % of the bankroll.  When the Kelly was increased, it meant that investors were risking this to multiples depending on their settings (with most people opting for 10x).

The issue here is really simple : I was not aware that people are challenged to get more and more percentage of bankroll and most of them use 10x kelly. So instead of a house vs. player site , the site slowly became a player vs. player site. This makes the site too unstable and prone to variance

117  Economy / Gambling / Re: SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Since 2014 on: April 17, 2016, 05:26:06 PM
Indeed I am also interested.

1) I already reached out to Anton, gave him my reasoning , what happened from my point of view, and another theory of this chaos

2) Someone asked about the additional 9 BTC that I recklessly transferred along. Do not worry, it is on the house. you can see the cold storage is more than enough to cover the entire investment

3) Some people really don't like SafeDice to continue operating. I got blackmailed by a new user named vengefulspirit, he asked for 2 BTC so he can stop DDoS ing our site. Seriously, you take advantage of this moment? Not cool , dude. Not cool at all

4) I'll change the way the kelly system works to avoid similar things happened in the future

You also need to prove your solvency before anyone will trust you again

EDIT: Site is back up and withdrawals seem to be working again.

Hey,

As most of you people know I won alot of bitcoins from safedice very recently (115btc). I thought this was a legit site that would pay out to its members if they won some bitoins but apparently they don't. I got an email today where they told me that they have cleared my account manually and sent it to my withdrawal address, the only problem is that it wasn't even my address. They scammed me and sent the bitcoins to their own address, making it look like they have paid me. Don't trust this website since they don't payout what they have to and tries to get away with it by creating fake email conversations that apparently came from me.

This site is not to be trusted and won't pay you out if you win quite a large amount of bitcoins... Cry Angry

Unfortunate to hear. Do you have any proof for this accusation?

Of course I do. I receieved a fake email from them today where I apparently asked them to send all my bitcoins from my safedice account to a bitcoin address that doesn't belong to me.

Here's the faked email I got today.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_UCHViPIycZOWFWbVZ2YS1RdzQ

Here's a page from my conversation with them.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_UCHViPIycZbzZPcG1mYW5VWFE

You can see that the log-box between the to mails are a bit different. That the emails are blue and clickable in the faked mail and not blue and not clickable in my conversation with them.
I've always ended my email with 'sincerely, Anton (huggermugger)' and never with just '//huggermugger'.

It also says in the faked email that I sent that email for just two days ago with the subject "withdrawal". But I've written to them from the 6th of April from an email with the subject "Withdraw bitcoins".

It is also strange that I sent this from my conversation today with the subject "withdraw bitcoins":
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_UCHViPIycZdGtvY2NYQnJmX2M

And that they answered with this from a new conversation called "withdrawal" that I apparenly had written two days ago
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_UCHViPIycZUUY2cjFFY3M5YlU

It seems that either admin is fooled by someone impersonating huggermugger or admin playing some trick to make sure that they own the 100+ btc for themselves. This is going to looks bad either way and this might be the end of safedice. 100 btc is a huge sum of bitcoin and definitely tempting to be stolen though I still hope the admin shed some lights here

Cold wallet is now 150% of the invested amount.
There was indeed a withdrawal issue and I need to revert some balance, all is good now, please refresh and retry

I wasn't playing any trick, I'm currently investigating this case to find some more explanation . I know what I saw and what email I received.

- I asked huggermuggger to confirm his email in the site because I received his manual withdrawal request.
- I replied to "withdrawal" conversation to refer huggermugger to the withdrawal address.

...
I would normally try to be optimistic but the OP has been inactive for quite some time now and the site closes after a big win..
It doesn't look to good from here :C

OP was never super active here and had 1-2 weeks periods of inactivity before, so that alone doesn't mean much.
But yeah, site going down right now doesn't do much good.

I've sent an email to admin to make sure he's aware and asked him for update.

Hello everyone, sorry for all the waiting, someone here just asked me to check the forum.

The site was having a short downtime due to a technical problem. I'm sorry to make you worried, this happened at a wrong time but everything is fine now. Regular deposit and withdrawal should also work well, as there are some new deposits came to the site.

About huggermugger, we have been in contact with him and have asked for some time to investigate the bets. Looking up to the size of the bet, we think this is normal and reasonable to do so. Other than that everything is good.

I hope this can clear the air Smiley

Glad to hear the good news.
Don't you think you should get a member that represents the company on this forum?

Good luck!

A direct way to contact you at would be good as well.  Do you have further information on what happened with the Ned Ryerson case?  I assume he got paid as he stopped responding, but it was never said.

I'm glad to see that my initial assumption was right earlier in how it would be handled, but the site going offline really gave me a scare.  Hope to see this completely resolved and back to normal in no time Smiley

I confirm Ned Ryeson / jimbob has accumulated 40 btc profit in total and had withdrawn them successfully last month.
