1061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘Bitcoin is Teaching Realism to Libertarians': An Interview With Old-School on: February 08, 2015, 06:09:21 PM
I don't think dictators become warped; I think all people have that selfishness in them from the start.  If you give a man power and he starts doing terrible things, what changed?  Nothing but the amount of power he has.  So the only reason most people "act right" is because they don't have enough power to do what they really want.

Why do celebrities and politicians start cheating on their wives when they become rich and famous?  Because they can.  They would've done it more before they were famous, but they didn't have the opportunity.  Why do dictators start murdering and stealing after they have absolute power over a nation?  Because they couldn't get away with it before they had the power.

Why do banks freeze people's money?  Because they can.  Why do policemen beat people?  Because they can.  Most policemen don't beat people, but some of them will always abuse their power, as long as they are given that power.

So that is why the issue of trust is so important - we can't trust another human being with enough power over us to control our lives.  Because they will use that power, and we will be helpless against whatever they want to do.

The only defense against tyranny is for each of us to secure our own power.  You want to be sure that no one can shoot your family?  Then get your own gun.  You want to be sure that no one can push you around, take your home, turn you into a refugee?  Then get your own money.  That's real equality - not depending on the powerful to "be fair", but becoming powerful yourself.

1 satoshi is too cheap, it's half the price currently being traded if these coins are split 1/20.  So 2 satoshis would be better. (180 litoshi)
1063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s Value Is Increasing Despite Price Instability on: February 08, 2015, 02:52:06 PM
It doesn't matter what 'real' people believed it was worth. The volume and trades were still faked

Make up your mind.  Does it matter if it was faked?  Are fake trades any different than real trades from real people?  I think it matters.  Plenty of people think BTC is worth $1000, but there aren't enough of them and they don't have enough money to buy all the BTC in the world.  Yet.
1064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s Value Is Increasing Despite Price Instability on: February 08, 2015, 01:06:54 PM
The price went to $1000 because people started realizing Bitcoin's future value.  When more people use Bitcoin, and when the block reward halves, it will cost more to mine and it will be harder and more expensive to get.  So they started paying the future price.  It will still be worth that in the future, but other people started realizing that it's not quite there yet.

And some people suspect that the price is being held down by exchanges selling more BTC than they have, using a fractional reserve, so that there are more BTC available on market than actually exist.  If the supply is artificially increased that way, it keeps the price down.

Didn't it go to 1k because of fake insider trading on mt.gox? If this was true the price should still be high because bitcoin still has massive future potential value.

MtGox wasn't the only exchange, and the bots weren't the only ones trading.  Therefore, plenty of real people believed that it was worth $1000, and they willingly paid that much for it.

If you read my post again, you will see why the price isn't quite as high now.  Today, you can mine a bitcoin for $200.  In the future, it will cost over $1000 to mine a bitcoin.  So people paid $1000, because it will be worth more than that in the future.  But other people sold for $200, because they can make money doing that today.

Lets define cancer first. There are many many diff types of cancer. So when we lump them all into the same lable it confuses the topic.

Ok, let's just talk about the kind of cancer you were talking about:

Humanity already knows how to destroy, cure, cancer.

Which kind of cancer do you know how to cure?  Will you please tell us how to cure cancer?

Also, western medicine has brain washed us into the chemo route, and laughed off alt methods.

Steve Jobs didn't laugh off alt methods.  He laughed off chemo.  And he died.

You are the one laughing off legitimate alternative research, while CureCoin is doing the work to understand how DNA proteins replicate during cell division and what goes wrong with that process when cancer forms.

Curecoin's distributed computing work for cancer and disease research has been active for 14 years, and has already led to new medicines and treatments in multiple fields.

So it will be around for a while.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding@home

Humanity already knows how to destroy, cure, cancer. Don't keep feeding the marketing machines that say cancer needs a cure, when that monies only goes to the ceo.

So, no need for curecoin either

If you know how to cure cancer, please share it with us.  My father has cancer, and he would be happy to know that you are already aware of a cure.

As for "the CEO" getting money, I'm not sure which CEO you're talking about.  That's probably because you don't know which one you're talking about either.

But if "they" wanted to make money, there would be no bigger money-maker than a cancer cure.  People would buy it, no matter what the cost.  It would be the world's first trillion-dollar product.

Or maybe you think the cure for cancer is something natural that "they" can't sell for profit.  So, they just keep it a secret, and it's only known to the richest corporate CEOs and billionaires.  Like Steve Jobs, right?  Sure enough, he agreed with you and didn't buy into all the "official" cancer treatments.

Also, he's dead.

I am no would be or past prince but must say BAD foul language in this post

Hear, hear!  Blood will tell, and this lot surely embraces the "common" language.  I've heard disrespect spoken of Her Majesty, and I'm sorry to say it, but this is beyond the pale.

Did you cry as much about the upgrade from 32bit to 64bit operating systems?

Or from 1.44 MB floppy disks to 200 MB CDs?

I'm still using floppies, I don't know why anyone would think they are obsolete.

But I still need to upgrade my operating system, so I think this will be a long night.

That is not true, Windows 8.1 is not officially offered on the medium of floppy discs.  Those discs are not genuine.

1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanging Bitcoin for Ringgit in Malaysia? on: February 05, 2015, 12:08:05 AM
He should be able to exchange Bitcoin for Indonesian Rupiah or Indian Rupee, and from there to Ringgit.

Bitcoin is getting bigger in India, and Indomaret convenience stores sell BTC over-the-counter in Indonesia so there are probably some easy options for BTC-to-Rupiah.  And Rupiah to Ringgit should be pretty easy locally.

Some say that Reptilians evolved parallel to primates, and bred into human bloodlines.

They would be wrong.  Repitles and mammals are separate classes of vertebrates.
They are too genetically dissimilar to interbreed.

So you're an expert on human-sized sentient bipedal Reptilians?

If Humans can have children with Klingons, then I'm pretty sure we can do it with Reptilians too.  The current understanding of convergent evolution leaves a lot to be desired.

A friend once told me she is the lizard queen. But then... wouldn't that make us lizards ?

Well that's an ambiguous term, so it could mean the queen of the lizards or it could mean a queen who is also a lizard.  So she's definitely one or the other.  But in being the queen of all England, she would necessarily be the queen of the lizards of England as well as the queen of her human subjects.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE QUEEN BITCH AND HER GOVERNMENTS REIGN HAS ENDED on: February 03, 2015, 11:58:53 PM
But which kind of Reptilian?

Some theories say that Reptilians are shape-shifters living among us.

Some say that Reptilians evolved parallel to primates, and bred into human bloodlines.  European royalty are the humans who have the most Reptilian DNA.

Or maybe the Reptilians live inside the hollow earth, a vast interior space which may have been accessed by King Solomon's mines, and may or may not be accessible through giant holes at the North and South Poles.  UFOs coming out of the ocean are the primary means of traveling from the hollow earth to our topside.

And then some people say, "Hey, we're not really as crazy as it seems.  When we talk about conspiracy theories and mention the Reptilians, it's a code-word for Jews."

I don't know about Unbreakable, but I did see a coin that made me laugh just from the name - Unattainium.  Good job Unattainium devs, I'm sure that one will catch on and have a bright future.  The name already told me everything I need to know about the coin, no further research necessary.
1079  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: About cloud mining on: February 03, 2015, 10:44:17 PM
I use MiningRigRentals.  It lets you directly rent rigs from other users around the world, and they mine to your pool and monitor the rig's performance for you.  But I mine altcoins, so I like it because it offers X11 and all kinds of other algos in addition to sha256.

You can also put your own rig up for rent - you can leave it idle until rented, or it can mine to your own pool and then switch to the renter's pool automatically when they rent and pay.  It's a good option if you have an older rig;  it might not be worth running to mine Bitcoin, but other people will pay you to mine their smaller sha256 coins.  (all payments are in BTC, of course)
