Quote from: coinfire.cf
... a statement from Mr. Garza in August of 2014. Mr. Garza stated that a percentage of the profits for ZenPool came from “day trading.” The fact that he stated it was from day trading created a situation in which, according to various securities laws, makes it a security.

See, they had sold people more Scrypt hashing power than existed on the entire network.  So they had to admit that "not all" of the money was coming from mining.

Why would you talk about women specifically if it equally applies to men?

When it applies equally to men, let me know.  For now, Bitcoin applies 90% to men and 10% to women.
Could we please just stop using made up numbers as an argument?

After you, since the idea that the numbers are made-up is your own made-up idea.

Again you're trying to reverse things. I'm not protecting women from truth. You were the one to imply that they can't edit a configuration file.

Are you confused about the fact that the vast majority of Bitcoin users are men?  Don't blame me when the facts don't fit your fantasy of how the world is.

I love and respect women for who they really are, not for some self-serving fantasy of helpless girls who need my protection.

I'm sorry you feel such hatred towards real women.

Why do you think that would be?

Because of condescending sexists like you who think you have to protect women from the truth, and from people like me who try to treat them equally.

Why would your girlfriend ever learn to use Bitcoin, when you can do it for her?

My wallet runs fine, but the sync speed is very slow... it seems like it is just generating  blocks too fast to keep up.  It does eventually catch up, and then fall behind again.

When it stops, check how many active connections you're showing.  My guess is 0.

That's right, everybody keep it working.

Yes, they still say that Bitcoin is used for illegal activities.

But the article is a clear example of how the U.S. government's own money is still the instrument of choice for 99% of all crime.  Unsurprisingly, they do not blame themselves for supplying criminals with the means to transfer wealth.

Why you talk about women in the first place?

Maybe the same reason you are talking about women, in a topic that mentions women in the title.

Over 90% of Bitcoin users are male.

Why wouldn't you talk about women more?  You don't want women to have bitcoins?  You want to maintain the sexist male domination of Bitcoin?

He's right, you know.  You can't give someone your Bank card PIN number at gunpoint.  You can only give them your multisig.
1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is made for all men women and Children world wide on: January 20, 2015, 05:38:45 PM
If women can't even create a txt file in the appdata roaming folder and change the file extension to .conf, then obviously they shouldn't be allowed money in the first place.

This is sexist.

You're the one assuming that women can't create a .conf file.

I said if women can't do that, and your sexism interpreted as the truth because you think women are inferior.

My wallets are syncing, but first you need to make sure you have the latest version of the wallet - v1.2.0.0

Then you can try to re-sync the blockchain, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

What worked for me was to temporarily move my wallet.dat file out of the appdata folder, and move everything else in that folder to a backup folder (or delete it, but don't delete your wallet.dat)

Then restart your wallet, and it will download the entire blockchain again.  Then, you go back into the appdata folder and replace that new empty wallet.dat with your original wallet.dat.  With enough synced active connections, and with some luck, this can do the trick and get your wallet synced again.  But we'll still need to update the software so it doesn't happen again.

what's  wrong with this coin now? Huh

We need an update to adjust the staking speed which has been causing issues with the network.  Don't worry, we will not allow this coin to break.
1234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sucks its nearly impossible to sell tangible goods for BTC! on: January 20, 2015, 03:34:20 PM
Charge 15% more for fiat, and if they don't want to pay in BTC then happily accept the extra 15%.  Use it to buy bitcoin.

As for a Bitcoin ebay, I have bought from onewallet.io, and I have some items listed there, and the whole site seems pretty good.  The only problem is that there aren't many users compared to ebay.  But assuming they'll be able to continue the current level of service with a lot more users, all it needs is more people.
1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / allcoin.com withdrawal issues on: January 20, 2015, 02:46:43 PM
I put in a withdrawal request at allcoin.com for some DRK on Jan.13, and it didn't appear on the blockchain.  So I registered for their support service and sent a ticket, and it took about 2 days for them to re-send the DRK.  It showed up fine.

Then I withdrew some more, and it didn't show up again, so I sent another ticket.  After 2 days, they replied and said they re-sent it.  But it still wasn't on the blockchain, so I replied by asking "Is it on the blockchain?"  After another 3 days, they responded with "Of course" and a tx id, which shows the transfer at the same time as their last message, 5 days after my withdrawal.

So I'm thinking, if I ask "Is it on the blockchain?", don't say "Of course" and THEN send it to the blockchain, 3 days after I asked.  Maybe just say "Sorry, it wasn't on the blockchain but now it is."

Because now it seems to be past the normal delays that can be expected from any automated exchange accounts, and I have a real human being telling me that it takes 3 days for a manual wallet send to reach the blockchain.

But I don't think they're doing it on purpose, because they seem to have sent me the last withdrawal twice.  I have asked them what I should do about sending the extra back to them.
1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "The Hive" a $14,000usd Bitcoin Art Piece on: January 20, 2015, 02:10:07 PM
This is a beautiful art piece but is it made from animal ivory? If so people need to realise that these animals are going extinct because of animal killings

Elephants were going extinct because of government regulations.  Now that private citizens are allowed to own elephants, breed them and sell them for their skin and ivory, the elephant populations are booming.

The same would probably apply to the material that AnimalPartsCollector used to carve this huge B out of a single tusk.

But I appreciate you representing the animal rights culture and reminding us what it's all about.

Is there anyone in NK that knows how to use it or even what it is?
How would it happen if they have a firewall on the entire country? how do you connect to the blockchain??

How do you send cash to North Korea?

If I was in North Korea, I think I'd rather risk using a proxy over someone else's wi-fi rather than trying to sneak money over the border or having money delivered by government mail.

The South Koreans never had Nintendo or any Japanese video game consoles, so their young adults have grown up with a huge Personal Computer culture.  I'm quite sure there are plenty of hackers there who are willing and able to assist the people of North Korea in any subversive way possible.
1238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is made for all men women and Children world wide on: January 20, 2015, 01:57:18 PM
Yes, WIC is for them, you are correct. My point is that the U.S. government also has Government issued and paid into Debit Cards for adult men. There are enough programs to find free U.S. government for anybody.

No, it is not free money for men, because the men have to pay for it.  The government takes it away for 50 years, and then offers us a tiny fraction in return - if we live long enough.
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is made for all men women and Children world wide on: January 20, 2015, 12:38:59 PM
World wide? I would question this part! Trade any Bitcoins in North Korea lately?

If you wanted to conduct a transaction with someone in North Korea, is there any better way than Bitcoin?
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is made for all men women and Children world wide on: January 20, 2015, 12:33:55 PM
I am not so sure how children can get bitcoin and I am definitely sure that it isn't worldwide...yet.

#1, It's as worldwide as telephones are worldwide.  The most affordable way to use a telephone is now mobile cell phones.  Even poor people in third-world countries have increasing opportunities to own cell phones, and some of them are already using service minutes as digital currency.

#2, if you can get an Android phone, you can get Bitcoin.

#3, if you've ever let a child use your smartphone, you might be aware that a child can figure out in a few minutes how to spend your money to buy a game.  So all the millions of children who have cell phones could easily spend and receive daily lunch money in Bitcoin, if school lunchrooms accepted bitcoin.
