-snip-

Understood. But that's all speculation. No one knows what investors of ETH would do. And looking at the historical stats on yolodice its far more lucrative to keep ETH on there (once investing would be open) than it would be to get the staking rewards. Obviously there is more risk to being an investor vs. staking.

Also, we don't know what Ethan could be up to in regards to the staking. I think it would be cool if he implemented staking to the website on top of the ETH investing. Would make a lot of sense and attract a lot of people.
Let me make it as layman terms as I could think of and explain it. We have coins BTC, LTC, DOGE right? Let's take these three into account.

We also have ETH which is what we are talking about and we are going to look for differences. The topic is investment, and why investment could change max bet and how it could affect the gambling. Now on BTC, LTC, DOGE we do not have any new 2.0 type of improvement that will change the coin at all, it will be all the same without any changes, just same old same old thing.

On ethereum we have 2.0, we have proof of work becoming proof of stake, which means more reasons to hold it and not give it to a casino. Now when you have ETH investment and there is 10k eth invested and you get to bet 100 eth, suddenly that could be 100 eth invested and 1 eth gambling, don't you see how that would be bad for the casino?
Firstly, I think you're worrying a bit too much about a hypothetical situation that would likely never happen.  It seems REALLY unlikely that 90%+ of the ETH bankroll would be withdrawn, most investors are investors for the long haul, and even then the bankroll isn't public yet anyway.  Even if people did and the bankroll was public, that's just the nature of the beast of a dynamic bankroll; it changes.  People know that.

I don't see at all how it would be "bad for the casino".  There's four different coins, people could just play in a different currency (as you said "let's take these three into account", except you ignored them completely).  There's not much point in creating some unrealistic apocalypse scenario where the bankroll drops by 99% just to support your claim - as Rawdog said, this is all speculation anyway.

Just 2 weeks ago the LTC Max Bet went from ~20 coins to ~90 coins because some investor invested ~7,000 LTC, then they withdrew it and the Max Bet dropped back down (a few days later it seemed they invested again), but during that time that the bankroll dropped by  ~78%, I didn't hear a peep from anyone - no complaints.  People just played as they normally would, or played in different coins.

whta do we need to fill in yolodice when you log in. I forgot to save the email that I use in yolodice site and I am not sure anymore what password I used but I do remember the name and user id number of my account. I haven't tried to contact the support email yet and one more thing is I set my wallet address when withdrawing btc but the wallet doesn't support sign message so logging in would be hard for me. Anyone can help?. Is it username?, email?, or user id.
When you login, you would use a login name that you set when you made the account (not email or UID).  It could have been the same as your chat username (if you used the same for both), but most people do not use the same for both.

I saw your ticket in the support mail, and I already marked it for Ethan (he is the only one that can help with account recovery stuff) as soon as I saw it, but he has not been online yet.  Once he is, he'll see it and maybe he can help you.

There are some thieves on Yolodice site and they have been active for 3 years. You still don't ban them. This reduces the quality and reliability of the site. This should put an end to it.

You should make a different topic about that, this is about investing in their site, or better, contact support admin

I have already told you earlier in this topic that:

We have told people since YOLOdice's launch that loans/trades (except YD accounts) are not allowed, and if you choose to engage in them anyway you do it at your own risk.  You should have reported this person for asking for a loan so they would get a mute, instead of loaning money to someone you don't know.  The Moderators do not get involved once you have already taken this risk upon yourself by loaning people money.

Spamming about this here repeatedly isn't going to change the fact that you getting scammed because you engaged in a loan that wasn't allowed in the first place is your own fault.

I cannot say it enough: Loans are not allowed, you should not trust random people on the internet in a casino with your coins.

Hey, Yolo Dice, can you explain to me whats happened with my funds on your casino?
I send on 21. May 62500 DOGE and invest it in casino bankroll. everything looked good to this day 27. May. Now I have just logged in casino website, and I find that my investment is closed and all my DOGE exchanged for BTC and withdraw to 1PFiyK54aYAH7KoYAgx8gbZ3mFQTqyiFst address. Tx: https://blockchain.info/tx/b223db32c1e14c6c807411e02c60a493f0ba9eae912f4f57d25cbdfadfa128d6
My account is regularly registered and password protected, I did not receive any confirmational email, or any other notification about withdraw.
In login history, I can find only my IP address. it looks like your casino has been hacked
Withdrawal happened 2020-05-27 11:36:52 PM but in my login history, there is no login in this time. I have screenshots.
what happened here?
Hi there.  I've asked the Admin (Ethan) to look into this once he comes online, however there's a few different spots you can check first:

You mentioned you checked your login history, but did you also check your Connected Devices section too (same page: https://yolodice.com/#settings)?  Login History and Connected Devices are both important.

You say your account has a password, but are you using 2FA?  Do you have any API Keys you created (they would also be on this same page)?  If someone got a hold of your Private API Key (if you generated one), that could be part of the problem.

Additionally, if your PC itself was somehow compromised, this would also not show any new IPs.

I've been on the site since day one, never heard about any security breaches; even if there was some massive security breach, I am quite sure they would steal a lot more than just your DOGE.  Every time we've ever had someone make a complaint about missing coins, it was because their account was compromised, not the site.

Anyways, Ethan will look into it once he comes online again.  Can you provide your UID, if you remember it (the number next to your username), so he can look up your account?  It's okay to provide your chat username too (the one next to the UID), but please do not post your actual login username here.

We have told people since the site's creation that trades and loans are not allowed, the only exception being YD account selling.  In other words, if you choose to still engage in them and you get scammed, it's your own fault.  Mods do not get involved in trades/loans that shouldn't be happening in the first place; you should have reported them for asking for a trade/loan instead of obliging, in which case we would have issued a mute.

If you think the site is full of thieves then why are you trusting people to begin with?

A week later!!

Hello!

I just finished creating an account in YoloDice and I am planning also to invest after some readings in the website? Can you please tell me more about your personal experiences in investing? Also, I have one noob question

After you have seen that your investment grows, can you immediately withdraw the funds from the website? or Is there a specific date withdrawal date?

Thank you! I am planning to add my XRP in my account.
Hi, I'm not sure where you read that it did, but YOLOdice does NOT support XRP.  Only BTC, LTC, ETH, and DOGE (and ETH cannot be publicly invested yet).

Additionally, as soon as you close your investment you can withdraw the funds, there is no specific withdrawal date or anything silly like that, YD does not hold your funds hostage.
47  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 INVESTING BTC, LTC and DOGE is OPEN NOW on: May 01, 2020, 07:35:59 PM
Huh

I have a major issue; have been locked out/bugged out of my account. Account name: zripped

I have emailed support@yd but figured I'd post here in-case here or there isn't seen too often.

Problem seems to be my 2FA keys are no longer being seen as valid, even though my authenticator has not been messed with or changed in any way at all. Today (May 1) it was working fine all day, changed many settings and saved with no issues and THEN; immediately after I enabled the option to require 2FA to "play the game", which requires me to enter 2fa to save changes(which it successfully enabled and saved the changes therefore accepting my 2fa key like usual), I went to play and it wanted me to choose a time allowance to play and enter my 2 factor key. I expected that and chose 1-hour, and typed the key in and it didn't work, apparently is being seen as invalid key. Also won't work for anything at all now that requires 2fa related to my account including just logging in, or changing any settings before I had logged out like trying to disable the require 2fa to play option. Couldn't disable it, couldn't play, so I logged out and in to try and remedy the issues but that didn't fix anything for me, and obviously since 2 factor is enabled and not working I now can't log in at all :-( . Tried many different things and times, something is definitely broke with my account or possibly my 2fa, but I use Authy and every other account I have generating codes for(other websites) is working fine and nothing seemed to be off with it. It's still generating YD codes but they are just apparently invalid. Very weird circumstances and happenings right after that require 2fa to play setting was enabled, maybe I'm stupid though and it has nothing to do with it. As I said I did send an email in with a thorough explanation. I feel like something happened site/account side, but I really may have done something without realizing and just totally f****d myself, I was just casually playing and messing with settings without much focus. Sorry for causing inconvenience, and sorry if this is the wrong place to report an issue I'm having, just was looking for any links to contact as I tried to make a new account and talk in game chat but it has to be level 3 lol, I forgot.

I've had my account for like 2 years and have had no issues ever like this. The flow and functionality of the site has been and it still is above par, ever since day-one. Is why I've never left :-) I have a feeling this was just a rare spaghetti hiccup, and maybe even I made a mistake that triggered this but don't realize yet. Let alone recovering my account I would love to find out what in the hell happened and why/how. Very weird. I'm a bit panicked as the coins on the account are most of what I have, I have faith though and hope to resolve this soon Sad

Please reach out to me mod/admin if I need to give necessary details regarding proof of ownership. The email is the one attached to my yd account. Again account name is "zripped"
Hi, we do see all the tickets, and most are typically resolved within 24-48 hours, however on the weekends Ethan is usually not online so if its something that requires his attention, it can take a bit longer.

I see your ticket, and I've already marked it for Ethan (he's the only one that can help with account access issues), so he'll see it once he checks on them, and I'll message him as well.
48  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 WEEKLY COMPETITIONS, fast bets BTC LTC ETH DOGE on: April 11, 2020, 01:29:35 AM

5. During the competitions we'll pause your investments so that we can do "50% of site profit goes to prize pool".

About this, I'd like my bankroll to still be used during wagering competitions.
If he did that though, we wouldn't be able to do the "50% of site profit goes to prize pool" thing, because he'd be taking profits from your investment (which would be silly).  I think it has to be one or the other, he can't do both.  And as a player myself, I would prefer having profits added to the prize pools.

I like all these ideas, but personally I'm most excited about the PvP Lottery with a short-ish timeframe (like 1-3 hours), or multiple lotteries with different timeframes to suit everyone, and Keno. Cheesy  Keno is super addicting, for me at least.

I've looked at some sites and I saw keno rounds that are per-player. The game reveals the numbers and done. What about a more social game, with "shared rounds", like every 30 seconds? So that numbers are being drawn for all the players and you can see other players placing bets? Plus some progressive jackpot? Could it be more fun?

Okay, that is more fun. You really hit the right note.  Grin
I don't want to be playing alone. There should be a "competition like" that is happening.
Putting myself in emotion to envy them and be better the next game.

I have my pet numbers all ready.  Grin
Yeah, I like this idea!  Seeing others' bets/picks could be fun.  Something like, you pick 2-10 picks out of so many numbers, say 30-50 total numbers, and then somehow you can see other peoples' bets, and that progressive jackpot you mentioned could be fun too.
59  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 WEEKLY COMPETITIONS, fast bets BTC LTC ETH DOGE on: January 30, 2020, 10:27:00 AM
Can i play the game without deposit any thing can i play plz tell me
You can play with the faucet, to try the site out.  However, with a low-level account faucet is quite small (gets bigger with more levels), and I believe you can only claim 10 times.  Later on with more levels you can claim up to 50 times.
60  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 WEEKLY COMPETITIONS, fast bets BTC LTC ETH DOGE on: January 28, 2020, 03:11:53 PM
We have been discussing where to go with YOLOdice next, and I want your opinion about it. I have no plans to convert YD into a "game hub", but one or two extra games to kill time would be fun. And we want your feedback before starting coding!

1. Lottery - a PvP lottery has been on our radar for quite a long time now. The idea would be pretty simple - the more tickets you buy, the higher your chance to win the pool. The prize pool grows when more tickets are being sold. Not sure yet how long the rounds would be. Maybe 12h, maybe shorter, maybe a week, maybe random, maybe a few rounds at the same time. The main prize would get the most of the pool, maybe the second prize would get a small reward too.

2. Any other game - there are number of games out there. Do you think we could implement any? Keno, growing multiplier games, slots... There are many, but how fun are they really?

3. An original game - we have a few ideas for quite original games not found anywhere else that work in "provably fair" paradigm, have instant rewards, requires decisions when playing and could be fun. It's still an idea that would take same time but... could happen.

What do you think? What would YOU like to play at YOLOdice?

Cheers,
Ethen
