Now what is ⊅?
That is the new BTC monetary emblem! Ctrl+Shift Then U-2-2-8-5.  Grin
What happened to using ฿ ??

-- Smoov

That is already taken by the Thai baht. Wouldn't want to be confused with a Fiat currency. This one is unique and not used for any currency and is a mathematical symbol to boot.
well, $ gets re-used too, so, they can get over it.

yea, in gui i'm using http://127.0.0.1 and the seperate feild for the port. and ufasoft becuase i can't manage to get poclbm to run with anything but deepbit. if i try another pool (p2pool or p2pmining.com) it throws "at least one server is required". and i seem to get near identical mhash, so i figured "ah, screw it."

and screenshot: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Arklan/misc/handshake.png
um, yeah, don't include "http://"... only the host name or IP by itself there

and that might be part of why poclbm is failing, too, if GUIminer is adding another http:// onto the hostname which already has one.

hey guys. having a little difficulty getting setup here. my miner (ufasoft, through guiminer) isn't able to complete a handshake with a locally running p2pool node. the handshake is timing out. any thoughts?
Smoovious thinks "details?"

-- Smoov

running latest p2pool software, which is up and running problem free. attempt to connect to http:127.0.0.1:9332 with the proper name and password results in "handshake timed out, disconnecting from 127.0.0.1:51084"
are you typing in the url exactly like that? cuz, in GUIminer, you should have a seperate field for the host and the port. "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" goes into the host field, and 9332 into the port field

and... why ufasoft?

list is incomplete... still adding more?

Some servers are either down or I can't get their direct IP to white-list on the firewall.
I've got yours added, though.
Works for me, thnxy Smiley

you have to just sign with the first btc address to change it.
I guess if you have 50 rigs its easier to change the receive address then go to every rig and change it.

Um, yeah, ok... since you apparently, didn't fully read and comprehend my suggestion I'm just going to head to bed.

the purpose of signing was to prevent people from changing the address and adding there own or adding a address when there was not one.

It would be nice to have worker threads to keep track of rigs.  Grin
And how does my suggestion, not prevent someone from changing the deliver-to BTC addy?

Payouts are after .50 BTC that are confirmed.

I don't think they could add the changes because someone could change the BTC address for everyone on the pool.
Then what would be the purpose of signing them in the first place?

Well, I was starting to give p2pmining a tryout with one of my miners, but hit a snag.

I never have payouts come to my wallet, instead redirecting them all to my exchange deposit addresses, so I can't sign to set up the alt-coin addys.

Would it be feasable to add a BTC section on the 'register merged mining' screen so I could use my own addy with my miner, which I can sign with, but have the BTC sent to the other addy similar to how the alt-chains get sent to their own addy's?

Otherwise, I'll just have to give up on my tryout Sad

There is a seperate thread for spamming links on now --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=81046.0

Hey, could you guys change the login for the web page, to put the login ID and deposit addy entry all on the same page?

I keep having a lot of difficulty getting signed into the account I intend to.

I'll log out from one, and try to log into another, and it immediately asks me for deposit addy, trying to sign me back into the one I just logged out of.

There is no way to back out of logging in, too, so having both entries on the same page would help out.

Thnxy

I don't believe P2Pmining.com sends generated coins directly, but sends normal transactions for payouts, so sending direct to an exchange shouldn't be a problem. They also merge-mine. I have not used P2Pmining.com myself, however, so I may be mistaken on a detail or two for them.

They send the merged coins directly after they go through 120 Confirms, and Bitcoins autopay out when your balance is at least .5, but you can manually pay out too.
I was meaning the difference between a received transaction, and a generated transaction.

P2Pool coins come in as generated, not received, and some exchanges aren't set up to recognize generated transactions.

There are a handful of public P2Pool nodes open for people to point their miners to. No need to run P2Pool yourself, and coins generated will generate directly into your wallet. Check with the exchanges first to see if they can take generated transactions for deposit directly, some can, some can't.

The public P2Pool Server List is here.

P2Pool operates as PPLNS, and has a BTC and an LTC network.

Is there any way to identify which rig, or even better which gpu is responsible for my orphans/stales ?

which miner?  cgminer and guiminer both list the accepted and rejected blocks per gpu.

phoenix 2.0 doesn't seem to be as friendly.
You could set each miner up with a different deposit address as the username. Then they would show up seperately on the graphs.
