1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Blade (80 Chip) Miner Support/Tuning on: May 29, 2018, 10:17:39 AM
When you want to use bfgminer you have to use the vcpi driver which can be found by here > https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/software/CP210x_Universal_Windows_Driver.zip
However if you use cgminer you have to switch to the zadig driver.
In my experience the zadig driver is a pain in the behind, caused me many issues when using my blades.
Anyway you can not install both so only 1 driver can be installed to prevent even bigger issues.
Only have 2 left of them which run for nostalgic reasons at my house.

At first i was wondering why the miner was so cold ... Wink
Then i checked out the forum, ofcourse as usual without login.

3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BTC CRAZY FEE on: December 18, 2017, 04:09:53 PM
This is one of problems i did report years ago.
You are no longer able to send a small amount of bitcoin without being charged at least 5 euro... yes even when you need to send 3 euro for the item.
I warned many times that if bitcoin would go this high or even higher in value it no longer can be used at all for normal lower priced payments.
The bad thing about it is that even though there are several much faster and good alternatives, they are not used by companies and individuals because they do not trust them.
And i kinda agree with them most of the smaller value digital coins can drop alot in a super short time span, while you want a little more stable platform.
But now that bitcoin became one of the slowest to get something paid, alot of early adopters stopped the use of bitcoin.
They really do not want to wait more than 2 days to receive the payement. I send a relative normal amount of money 75 euro and had to pay 7.50 euro to get it send.
But it took 4 days to arrive at the company who cancelled my order by lack of receiving the funds in time.
Hell even 3 confirmations are often now over 2 days before they get seen in the blockchain.
My bet is that it becomes even worse now that some large investment companies and even some trade agencies jumped on the bitcoin wagon.
Ofcourse the negative news makes the value drop for a few days, but after the value starts going up double as fast as history shows.

I had to force a restart of the backend pool.
Everyone will have failed over to their backup pool at 03:18 UTC

Pool is back up and working OK, hash rate heading back up to where it was before the restart.
Mine on Smiley

What backup pools do people recommend?

I suppose this doesn't make much sense, does it?

stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333
stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:443
stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:8080

A backup pool is ofcourse another trusted pool where your miners can jump on when kano's pool is down.
History shows that this does not happen much for long periods.
So seek a good pool as a second one and add that as the reserve one.
I allways have a 3th backup as well, but it happened only once that both the main pools went down in 8 years time

Hi All,

I am a beginner miner, and have been mining with x4 S9's for 3 weeks. I started using NiceHash and ViaBTC because of ease of use, me being a noob and all. I really didn't know any better and just wanted to get up and running. After Nicehash fell last week, I turned strictly to ViaBTC for BCH and BTC mining. However, now being into the game a little more, I am starting to question if ViaBTC is really the best place to be mining long-term.

Anyway, I had heard many good things about Kano Pool before I had even gotten my miners, and was thinking of joining here first. However, then I heard about 'ramping-up' and got a little gun-shy to be honest. I still have no idea what this means.

I am seriously considering joining this pool, but would like a little more information to make my decision. I understand that there may be biased responses from active members of the pool, but I would appreciate neutral comparisons to other pools, as well as legitimate reasons as to why Kano Pool is where I should (or should not be) mining.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, as well as thanks for your response(s) in advance. Cheesy

Because of the insane high difficulty by the ever growing total miners you will see a matching low return from your miners.
If you look all over the sales sites for second hand stuff you will find alot of s9 miners being sold.
In my country i see hundreds of ads from people selling the s9 miners for prices that do not even reflect normality.
If people buy those insane high priced miners they will for sure get fooled and end up never get their money back they put into them.
Only the ones who saved many bitcoin in the paste are the ones getting filthy rich.
So do not count becoming a millionair anytime soon.

Will be hard to get people to switch to an old coin which is not having new toys like an android wallet and such play things people like these days.
Look at groestl coin and see how much these guys do, but i gotta be honest even though they did their best its suffering from the same problem as any steady coin.
Too many new coins released which is almost daily these days, ofcourse 99% of the new coins are crap coins with no real future.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: November 11, 2017, 01:36:45 AM
Whoops forgot to report i switched back to the v 0.4.4.007 and poof it synced almost instant after i restarted it.
Tried again on my other machine to get the v 0.7.5.1 version to sync .... even after 7 days running nothing still not fully synced
Replaced the exe again with the 007 and poof again almost instant done.
So something is not right in that release.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread on: October 20, 2017, 11:00:36 AM
The bitbar.co webpage appears unavailable since yesterday
And this optional 0.7.5.1 release wallet stays stuck at the last 2 block(s) and simply seems never to be completely updated
Its been running for 2 hours now and has not updated these last 2 blocks

Will see what happens, to be honest i left slack pretty fast.
If you can not make a normal conversation there without being warned that its OFFTOPIC does make me wonder if i should take this serious
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unbreakablecoin (UNB) | SHA256 - Over 3x Bigger then Bitcoin | No Premine on: July 25, 2017, 06:15:30 PM
I was trying to look at this coin and planned to buy a few.
But i really do not like a product which has a windows wallet what crashes on each start, yes i tried all of the available ones CRASH crash CRASH and crash
No matter if i try x86 or x64 all of them end in disaster
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) Hotmine X5 upgrade kit for Antminer S1/S3/S5 on: July 13, 2017, 10:52:26 AM

here are my stored images, i got a few sp20 which i probably gonna deliver to the scrap metal company
The energy prices are so high here that even a s9 would not make any profit EVER

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you consider trading as gambling? on: March 07, 2016, 07:03:47 AM
Trading is huge gambling
Often the ones with huge pockets win the most in this games
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Increase Incoming. on: March 07, 2016, 06:22:09 AM
The halving might not even increase the value at all, look at the paste.
And look at the many different coins, you can clearly see it has little effect in most cases
What it really does is scare away the smaller miners, because they no longer can make any profit from mining
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: March 07, 2016, 06:18:44 AM
I need 200 000 bitcoin to retire
So only 199 999 left to get
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much can you earn with gambling? on: March 07, 2016, 06:17:12 AM
You can not win with gambling .... thats why every gamble business is a very good one for the owners
