I got a problem when i was rearranging the antminers to get better airflow one of the small parts fell off Sadly it looks like it never was soldered firm on the board I have not even touch those at all i was just replacing the ant thats all Can i solder it myself or do i risk damaging some nearby part if i do. I only have a simple small solder tool which i used when i made my own flip flop boards back in the previous century Or do i need to contact bitmain to replace it ? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0gji2e3esl9wqlr/p4YfvMrtN4

I will start to worry if the ant becomes over 60 C So anything below that lets say around 50 C is not a problem

I'm not done mining quite yet. I'll keep all of my existing preorders, really just because I want to geek out on them. But I'm done buying any new mining gear, preorder or in-hand. I will continue to let my current gear run until they become unprofitable and then unplug them. And then I'm done.
Ding! +1 Best post in this thread for a super long time I do not know how to scroll fast enough the enormous fud and muddy crap which is posted in between some post like these. Ding Ding +10

To me MSI is a criminal institution which returns burned motherboards and videocards with a serious defect as non defect and nothing wrong with them to their customers. Which could have a caused a house fire if my very expenssive self bought surge protectors would not had been placed. So them saying idiot and dangerous things is normal in my view, i will allways try to protect my friends against this company. Their support is the worst on the planet and does not answer ever in a normal manner. One advise be smart and never buy from them ever again

How come i see so high temps with so many fans cooling them And all the X's lol

Yes i did never go higher then 387.5 Mhz because i think its not really worth going higher The one constant showing the xxxx on all cores does seem to make 180 Gh as written by the makers, and so far is not going much faster if i clock it at 387.5 however it seems to be a little faster on 375 Mhz which is in my view still much below the actual speed these antminers can do. So for some it might be worth the risk goin beyond the 400 Mhz i think the difference will not be worth the small increase in speed gained. I rather stay well withing normal operations below the 400 Mhz so the miners stay alive for a longer period. Its just weird that the x's appeared since the box has been placed, but again it does keep running steady around 180 Gh. Am just wondering if it might be something with the cooling or something, if i let the fan run at full speed the noise is enormous And even then after some hours mining the x's appear and stay. So i am not sure if it is nothing to worry about or that there is something wrong with this one for the long run. I've found a sweet-spot on the damaged miner at 387.5 and it keeps the errors under 1%... can't go any higher without it it jumping over 6%. That one shows no X's and has been running at that speed for days now. The newer miner is running at 400Mhz and is very stable... the X's come and go and there doesn't seem to be a pattern, sometimes they go away without turning the miner off, so I think it's a software problem. I agree on that setting because no matter what speed i set from 200 tot 387 i get to see the whole line keeps changing into XXXX Hmm you might be right especially since i see no change in hash speeds but i sure would like one of the techs from bitmaintech to confirm or better yet look at this Because the ultimate test with the fan running full speed showing 4000+ rpm does not change the X's appear after several hours. So i am sure its not the cooling nor the power , my 1200 watt antec / 1600 watt lepa and 1000 watt nzxt are very capable of feeding 2 ants While the 850watt corsair became extreme hot when running 2 ants the 3 above do not even get warm running 2 ants.

I like to see scp and sftp on this When i tried with pacman it seems not to exist.

LoL,
I think both are well capable of delivering your ants enough power with ease The power i mentioned is at the wall so in reality the miner pulls a little less power from the psu. Because the psu needs power itself to convert and deliver a stable output. If you but a platinum that power usage is a very small portion less then the gold ones So it might cost you a little less juice to run the miners over longer periods of time. However in most cases the extra costs of these does never get repaid by that little gain. So go for any well known 1200+ psu with 80+ gold

Why are there no new firmwares released with updated cgminer and such ? Why can't i see in the miner which firmware is installed and which pcb this thing is or do i really have to go the machines to check ??
I assumed if you bought 2 at the same time that i did got 2 exact same machines but i found out both are different One is a bit cooler then the other and i see different memory numbers Box 1 shows 15720/29080 i asume this one is 32 Mb mem Box 2 shows 48336/61586 i asume this one is 64 Mb mem and is kinda confirmed on the kernel log The one with the larger memory is constant turning all OOOO into XXXX a some hours mining. Not sure what to think of this antminer, It does not matter if it run at 350 or 375 it constant ends up showing all X's I have not tried to set higher speeds because it is already giving enough hw error as it is at 350 or 375 But thats sadly another mess on the antminer there is no speedy weay to see how bad its doing. I can not use screen and the status page lacks a simple % value
Another nasty habit is that i can't keep the status page open, the freaking overview page does have refresh but the one needed the STATUS page is not able to auto refresh ..... SIGH
I also did not find a solution to keep an eye on the miner by other means
Anyone have a solution for me to see those or know why one runs fine and the other seems to be wacky. Or maybe i worry to much about the stupid XXXX but then again i paid enough for it, so i want to know if it is having some kinda hidden defect

I have my 2 antminers running with 1000watt nzxt psu and they do fine however i do not use high overclocks if you use 400 mhz or higher 500 tot 525 watt per device is needed minimal Asic settings found on different topics:
mhz : 387.5 freq_value '5e85' timeout 38
mhz :393.75 freq_value '5f05' timeout 38
One miner still constant turns all the O into X after several hours of mining, i have no clue why this constant happens The Hashrate seems to be according the specified range, but i am worried about this one
Power usage from the 387 setting seems to be 490watt

do you have them connected by usb hub or each direct to the pc ?

Yes you need to delete the cron which indeed runs every hour You find it /opt/minepeon/etc/cron.d/hourly
This image is an older one because TK1337 has not released any updated since this 0.4.2 release When i use the latest beta release by minerforeman 0.2.5pr1 somehow the boards fail to run Still fighting to get them running faster, this far the received replacement board is a super slow one Only runs at 50:2:850 and not like the others accept 51 or 52 Again non of the boards accept any setting 46/2/950 or 38/1/950 they all fail to run at these. i need to start them with 48:2.850 to get them alive then slowly up the speed to 50 up to 52 when i put in 53 some do run but they pump in less then 3 minutes 8 to 11 % hw errors.
What baffles me is that if i connect one board feeded by the 4pin and connect it direct to my pc they do start with 48:2:950 but as soon as they are connect to the miniplane/double scroll ..... its back to the lower settings

I am still waiting on a response where are the boys from drillbit Finally bought a rpi to run the boards i used the image from TK1337 and they instant start mining
Has anyone get a more stable platform since it has a tendency to hang after several hours of mining The image i download is the 7 version and i installed cgminer 3.9, but ofcourse got a backup from the old one Did anyone try to run bfgminer on these minepeon clone ?

The fan speed can only be adjusted by the machine or run full speed, which is really sounding like a mini jumbo jet Got mine running at 375 if i go to 387 the errors go up and hash rate actually drops So mine are not really good ones in fact i think i got pretty slow compared to many others But to be honest am waiting for the 4 x 140 mm fans to arrive to cool them well whilke not making a noise like a starfighter jet. This will ofcourse help a bit but if they run faster is probably wishfull thinking Considering the results which i got already At 387 i had 278 HW errors in less then a minute

the actual fix took 4 days for me but i am in europe

Wtf only 400 ?!? Have you checked with latest firmware if one of the boards is defect ?? How many boards does the machine contain, did you check if there are really 4 asic boards ? Its total bs to say its an early model because that has nothing todo with the performance. I own a october model and it does run pretty nice
