Then why are people complaining in this thread that they can't get access to the drillbit forums? Problem: We get TON of spam requests and it's very difficult to tell who's real and who's not...
Short-term solution: If you need forum approval please PM me.

Couple questions....
1) Having trouble deciphering the new command line arguments to run the 8 boards with bfgminer, anyone know what they are/mean?
2) How do I get the latest firmware and correct drivers to run the new bfgminer? (on Win 7 64 bit .... I did look at the drillbit forums but they are not complete or I misunderstand a step or two in the process)
Thanks!
I'm also looking for a driver solution for the drillbit 8board for bfgminer 3.10 on Win7 64 bit. (thought I nailed it, with the Atmel driver used for f/w upgrades, but this sort of worked only for the Thumb, tried it today with the 8board and no joy...

Yep I have the same problem the driver for the atmel is not working for me either on the boards.
I had another go, actually followed the instructions within the Atmel .inf file. First you need to uninstall+delete the WinUSB driver. Then re-plug your device, go to Device Manager, find the Eight or Thumb device that is missing the driver, select 'let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer', then select 'all devices' and click 'have disk'. Now browse or enter the path to the Atmel driver atm6124_cdc.inf which is provided in the drillbit f/w upgrade files. You'll get a warning message about an unsigned driver, click next and you are done. Now go to Device Manager and confirm that now there is a Com port for your Drillbit device and note the number. Run Bfgminer, enter your pool and user credentials, type M and '+' as per the prompt, then DRB:all, and voila, your drillbit device(s) are found and mining. You can now type 'M' again, select each device, change over-clocking by C(lock) and V(oltage). While this is some achievement, in fact the hashing performance that I get is significantly lower than in cgminer.... Cheers

Cheers That why I use cgminer on linux, just compile it with the drillbit flags, install no other drivers and start mining.

I would speculate that they'll re-use the existing design to the extent practical, so it may be compatible, however if it's not compatible you can always connect it 'stand-alone' and just use a hub or PC ports for multiple USB connections. Cheers

Ebay is probably the place to sell stuff, not to buy... I'm also looking for something to compensate for the difficulty rise. Cheers

It's been several weeks since Barntech posted: As for the Avalon hashrates, the chips do about 1.6 GH/s so the 16 chip board will come in around 25 GH/s. Still working on the pricing. I'll get that up soon. We'll probably just do one run of these because the chips aren't all that exciting to be honest.
Also, its looking like more bitfurys will be available soon so we might be looking at doing some more of those. This time probably the turbo design which can squeeze some more juice out of the chips. Are we there yet?

Has anyone get a more stable platform since it has a tendency to hang after several hours of mining The image i download is the 7 version and i installed cgminer 3.9, but ofcourse got a backup from the old one Did anyone try to run bfgminer on these minepeon clone ?

If you have not done it already turn off automatic donations (if using minepeon). They start up after so many hours and stalled my pi everytime.

Yes you need to delete the cron which indeed runs every hour You find it /opt/minepeon/etc/cron.d/hourly
This image is an older one because TK1337 has not released any updated since this 0.4.2 release When i use the latest beta release by minerforeman 0.2.5pr1 somehow the boards fail to run Still fighting to get them running faster, this far the received replacement board is a super slow one Only runs at 50:2:850 and not like the others accept 51 or 52 Again non of the boards accept any setting 46/2/950 or 38/1/950 they all fail to run at these. i need to start them with 48:2.850 to get them alive then slowly up the speed to 50 up to 52 when i put in 53 some do run but they pump in less then 3 minutes 8 to 11 % hw errors.
What baffles me is that if i connect one board feeded by the 4pin and connect it direct to my pc they do start with 48:2:950 but as soon as they are connect to the miniplane/double scroll ..... its back to the lower settings

I had the same issue, I'm no longer using the miniplane/double scroll and all 8 of my boards run at 52:2:950 without any issues.

I've also had the same issue with the miniplanes. I have them all connected to the psu individually and am using a USB hub to connect to the PC and can run over 50:2:950.

this unresponsive asic is really an issue, as great as this 8board is it still needs constant supervision. after an unexpected power failure this board takes a lot poking to get going again.

Am just waiting for connectors so I can take mine off the plain also.
The boards run so much nicer @950 if you can get them there....
Thanx Bronan, I did not no about the cron file, this may account for the random shut downs..

Why is news from the Drillbit team so lacking on ether this thread of their forums? Barntech teased buy letting us know they had 2 reels of Avalon chips sitting there a month ago, then silence. Is it some kind of mind game they are playing with us? Did the team get hit by a bus?
