an attacker could have actually used it to create new bitcoin – above the 21 million hard-cap of coin creation – thereby inflating the supply and devaluing current bitcoins. This makes the latest mandatory Dash update that contains a hotfix for the Bitcoin vulnerability (mentioned in above link) even more important. It also makes me wonder if Dash and any other direct forks from Bitcoin, were informed by Bitcoin's Core-Team in time about this bug, including receiving full details about the "secret" part. Since mining pools can be notoriously slow on updating, i hope this additional information does not put Dash network in any danger. Yes; this time, there is a real problem with SuprNova, since weeks. I mine 8 time less than an other pool. What's appends OCMiner ? Actually there was really a problem on the pool, due to a not removed debugging flag in the pool code it also accepted 192,7 and 200,9 solutions as valid solutions for 144,5 - a group of users obviously used that and pointed miners to the pool using the faster algo gaining them coins but not contributing to the pools revenue because they never find blocks and thus stealing from the other users. It's fixed now and the malicious users have been banned and their accounts locked, btcz was the only pool that debugging flag was enabled. Sorry for the trouble but it's not the pool that was stealing... BTW: if someone recognizes lower payout or any other problem, you can always mail me directly and i'll check instantly instead of waiting for a reply.. |

Someone or some group is attacking RVN currently using a lot of hash (most likely from Nicehash), a coordinated DDoS to the major pools trying to get their network connectivity down while building up a sidechain and trying to replace legit blocks on mainnet with their maliciously mined sidechain blocks causing orphans of the legit blocks on the pools.
