Wow, a lot of hate for PPLNS? Why?
Might be something to do with your x8 implementation sounding somewhat novel and untested? It sounds to me like an interesting concept though. At this point, Eligius is no longer the only pool that allows a miner to mine anonymously with just a bitcoin address - other than the stats graphs, I'm not sure what is unique about it now that may have been previously.

lolwut - your order went out today. Hope you're hungry! I've been baking like a mad man lately and I was curious if anyone would be interested in different products. I'm open to making new things to sell. Just let me know here or in a PM! Venison jerky? Were there many deer in Greece? :p If I ever get a nice Hobart slicer I think jerky would be a great thing to make. Huh, I saw one at our state auction a few months ago, but it didn't look particularly sanitary. Whack it up with a heavy cleaver, and you should be able to chop lots of slices in an hour.

Alrighty, I'm convinced. The odometer on this car is what makes me really want it. Did I miss something about the odometer or is it just the fact that its modular and could be adjusted? "Only 300 miles, granny-owned for shopping trips!"

Yep, my 1Freenode address covers a few other prefixes that weren't there when I generated it.
How long did that one take you to find? Less than a day on a 3x5870 rig, I actually found 2 of them.

Personally I'd go for 1gigabit. It's not in the chain yet and has a 50% chance of being found within 9 days on my mining rig. So that would cost me 3.69 BTC. Nah, not going to bother. It would require also finding and funding an address for 1gigabi first. If you found a 1gigabitxxxxxxx address and funded it then it would be assigned the firstbit of 1gigabi. Since finding a 1gigabi is less computationally intensive one could find an address with that prefix and send it a satoshi to act as a placeholder. Luckily 1giga, 1gigab already exist otherwise they also would need to be found. If you put money on 1gigabit..... then you would automatically also have 1gigabi since it would be the first occurance of all these partials. You can always use more characters in your firstbit than needed as long as they match your real address. Yep, my 1Freenode address covers a few other prefixes that weren't there when I generated it.

For a while there was a guy named rubberchicken on irc who claimed to control (and seemed to back it up) a large number of coins. He was around a bunch and then disappeared. There's nothing to say there aren't more of those types of guys out there.
Hey I remember him; he claimed to have purchased dollars.com for some exorbitant amount and was pretty awesome (and foul). Wonder where he went.

SOLUTION: change "staff" title to "janitor" title. Problem solved.

|
Maybe you guys need to read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86580.0 to learn what the titles mean and why you should ignore them. MNW is a mod ONLY in the Korean section, because it's a tiny part of the forum with no other moderation. The forum software automatically applies the "staff" title when you see a post from him that is located OUTSIDE of the section he moderates. I see no reason to disable that feature, and I doubt it would be really easy anyways. Furthermore, this business of attacking a moderator just because of their position has got to stop. It's a shameful situation that ought never to happen. This forum already hangs in the balance of being both a wonderful resource and a terrible plague because of the community it harbors, and it would be an utter disaster to lose what moderation we have and devolve into a worthless internet hell-hole. We have enough of those already, and don't need another one linked to Bitcoin. I don't exactly see where I'm attacking him based on his position alone. The main basis for this attack is blatant dishonesty while in a position of trust or that's what I meant it to come across as anyway if someone's reading more than that into this I'll happily discuss it with them or edit my op if it has been vague in anyway. Sorry, I should specify that that was a rant that I wanted to get off my chest for a while, so it was intended to be more general in nature. However, I don't really consider being the mod in a dead end board to be a "position of trust", so take that for whatever it may be worth to you.

I rememberd your thread about cheap PSU's and the cooler master is in my price range, but then I saw it wasnt 80plus gold! I'm trying to get a 500W+ single rail 80plus gold PSU for about 50 bucks shipped, but it's proving difficult. Ah, it's 85% typical, not close enough for you? Only $45 bucks... Also bump

"ALERT." Wow dude, a whole new thread and everything.
FWIW, you must be doing it wrong because such an arrangement worked just fine for me in several instances.
Perhaps you should be doing a lot less posting and a lot more reading.

Holy shit bruno, just fucking knock it off. What are you on, anyway? Whatever it is, it's making you mighty nervous and paranoid. You see ghosts in every thread, and no longer contribute positively anywhere. It's a damn shame, because it used to be fun reading your posts. Now they are just tiring to read and full of useless "investigative" drivel.

When Kano gets a chip on his shoulder, it's almost impossible to remove and usually results in major collateral damage to anything or anyone within a large radius. It's a shame.

Anyone complaining about there being 4x 6 pin PCIe Power Connectors on the 7990 after being told of the cards Multi Phase power delivery system is an idiot (or at the very least an illiterate main-streamer entering a world well beyond his/her intellectual grasp/comprehension). Insulting? Just being 100% honest... there is no getting around that.
But then again most of these folks are from the same generation that considers Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber to be "Artists". Of course... "pre-packaged, mass produced frozen Turkey diners taste just like a REAL HOME COOKED TURKEY MEAL" Said Nobody Ever.
If it performs better with Multi Phase power delivery by allowing for more stable clock rates (Overclock or not) and more efficient use of power...
I'm sold.
But the thing is, all those connectors are DC. The multi-phase arrangement is part of the PWM system, which doesn't care how many DC connectors there are as long as it gets enough volts and amps. You could have one big ass pair of wires per card, and still have stable power, since the PWM system does all the magic.

It's possible that XenServer might work, but as far as I know the hardware virtualization requires an expensive license to use, and using open source Xen would be Greek all over again. For the record, XenServer, isn't a product I'd recommend for most purposes due to my not being too fond of the company that makes it. Xen, by contrast, is open source -- it doesn't cost anything; that includes the hardware virtualization support. In other words, it just so happens that XenServer uses Xen as part (most) of its "commercial product," but there's no reason regular people who don't hate money can't use it also, for free Of course, but unfortunately I'm more of a GUI guy, and don't know the Xen command line well at all.
