I've added it. Hope it meets wiki standards, I don't usually make many wiki edits.

Huge news, awesome. The bitcoin address is shown in the press release, but doesn't accompany the "bitcoin accepted here" logo elsewhere on the site, as far as I can tell.

I have noticed that my status is constantly disconnected in Firefox. Anyone else see this behavior?
+1, and hitting the refresh button forces me to log in again, including the OTP and all that.

^this is the same way I feel, although I would've done better with words
By "better" you mean "not quite as well"? Yes, that's what I thought.

Has anyone tried Autotune on a Minirig? The OP states that it can be used with them however I don't see downloads available for different minirig firmwares.
All the firmwares are presumably included in the auto-tune package, just like they are for the singles auto-tune package. As for individual downloads, I guess they aren't available.

Never trust a solid state device (such as an SSD or thumb drive) with your only copy of some data. They can and will die, usually resulting in total loss of all data. I have had good luck with Corsair stuff.
Many people use USB sticks for backup... but they should never be used for primary storage unless you have another backup somwhere else.
which ssd hd do you recommend? I just recommend that you have multiple backups, that's all. OCZ and most SandForce drives have extremely high infant mortality, not because of the NAND flash, but because of the controller. If the controller dies, you lose everything. I recently had a Crucial M4 have a NAND chip go bad, but after some repeated intensive scanning it revived itself and moved the bad data to another chip. The M4 is the best bang for buck right now especially with the big 512GB drives selling for $399 at Newegg. Most reliable is Intel, but for a HUGE premium. Fastest is OCZ Vertex 4, but it is new and I haven't tried it yet. It has a Micron controller like the M4, with Indilinx firmware like the original Barefoot-based drives.

Why, I can't put 8 or 9 characters into oclvanitygen and generate all possible addresses and their private keys?
Sure but it would take more energy than the Sun and several billions of years.
|
|
|
Awesome! Looks like you are giving them a good home.
|
|
|
I just thought of why this could be dangerous:
The distributed/cluster version of OCLvanitygen would be able to get the private key of any BTC address.
Except not. Look up a few older posts by DeathAndTaxes to find out why and to see the math that supports it. Basically impossible unless a flaw is found in the algorithm.

Could it just be that the OCSP server is down and not able to check it? Not sure what OCSP servers there are or whether your browser has predefined ones it would sue or the site would point to one though....
No, because an OCSP error is usually a softfail, and will be noted as OCSP unreachable. This error means that specific action has been taken to revoke the certificate. Wonder if a hacker broke in. rgr. Since Symantic/Verisign list Dwolla has having a valid cert, what is the cert that is getting check and reporting as being revoked? Anyone able to grab the cert that is there now? That's what's confusing me; I manually downloaded the most recent CRL and I couldn't find Dwolla's serial number in there. I don't know if it's possible for "just anyone" to revoke a certificate; I was under the impression that the issuer had to do so. The CRL distribution point should be http://evintl-crl.verisign.com/EVIntlT1.crl (I think). EDIT: It's http://EVIntl-crl.verisign.com/EVIntl2006.crl

I need to reply again and stress just how stupid this idea is.
"Say you want to send bitcoins to someone ... and they don't have a bitcoin address."
The person you want to send bitcoin to probably already knows about bitcoin through you telling them. So why they haven't set up a wallet yet is beyond me.
And if you want to send a stranger bitcoin and you don't know if they even know what bitcoin is just asking for trouble.
Take a look at coinapult, it does an awesome job of making bitcoin-to-noob-via-email transactions work really well.

Say you want to send bitcoins to someone on a forum like reddit, Hacker News, Facebook, or by e-mail, and they don't have a bitcoin address. I propose a public service which will accept bitcoins on behalf of someone, reaches out to verify their ownership of the recipient account, and allows them to clam the bitcoins and set up an address to forward their bitcoins to in the future.
Would this be useful? What are the downsides?
If you have their email address, use http://coinapult.com/There is also some Facebook apps, but I haven't tried any of them.
