41  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Welcome Rachel - BitInstant's newest team member on: September 02, 2012, 12:02:45 AM
Heretofore, I nominate BitInstant et al for the Most Epic Awesomeness Award in Bitcoin Business. Reasons -

Instant
Accessible
Diverse
Proactive
Honest
Communicative
Engaging

and more.

I also would like to take this opportunity to welcome their newest team member, and wish her a solid and successful tenure in the Bitcoin realm. Although we are not short at all of candid and honest answers from the Bitinstant company, more of the same is most certainly appreciated, and indeed thirsted after in this community. As Bitinstant extends its global initiatives, the excellent customer service must translate to the other regions, and Rachel's portfolio of languages will facilitate that greatly.

Kind regards from just another member of our powerful decentralized network,
-rjk

well, there aren't many pastes yet so I'm pretty sure most came from these forums, though in these instances no referrer is even given. And they didn't visit any specific paste pages.

it's just funny, that's all.

Oh, and there's one visit from a very large investment management company Cheesy

The fact that there isn't any referrer header is consistent with links from this forum, which, apart from redirection topics, all open on new windows/tabs.
ORLY?
WTF, interesting tag I never knew about. Also really annoying.

VIP tag should have been taken away a long time ago, at the very least.

I don't think the new window/tab thing has any bearing on it, but no referrer is passed because bitcointalk.org is an https:// site and SSL disables referrers.

46  Other / Meta / Re: theymos, please BAN all common IP sockpuppet accounts on: August 28, 2012, 10:22:49 PM
I don't have a problem with alt accounts as long as they're not used for evading bans. If you're hesitant to say something controversial because you don't want it to be associated with your name, please create an alt account and say it.

What are the names of your sock-puppets?
(waits for evasive response)

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Java 0-day Exploit. All browsers(Chrome included) are vulnerable. on: August 28, 2012, 10:10:16 PM
How about I just uninstall all versions of Java and not install Java at all until the coast is clear?
Excellent choice.
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: As the hate gets slung around, what's up? on: August 28, 2012, 09:00:29 PM
Some people invest too much, and are too attached to their life savings, so they drag out the pitchforks I suppose. It's rather a shame that those with little to spare were stupid enough to get involved; those that aren't risking it all actually might get something done without making a massive carpet bombing stink about it.
50  Other / Off-topic / Re: SSDs anyone? on: August 28, 2012, 08:50:59 PM
Forgot to mention the Samsung 830 series drives, also an excellent product.

This should help a lot: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/buy-ssd-recommendation,3255-6.html
51  Other / Meta / Re: Moved Thread Redirection Topics. on: August 28, 2012, 08:45:23 PM
I only leave redirects when I feel that the thread might be of interest to the people who follow that board. Otherwise, almost everyone just clicks Show new replies to your posts anyway, so I'm not worried about them wondering where it went.
Undecided Since I use "show new replies", I wish there was a way to remove any and all "moved" topics so I don't have to click each one of them to mark it read.

Actually, a "mark as read or unread" button on each topic would be cool...

For reliability, you need Intel. Second to that would be the Corsair Performance Pro, but both of them are expensive for your budget. The Chronos Deluxe is as fast as the MAX IOPS edition OCZ drives, slightly more reliable, and half the price. The Crucial M4 is great for any data, and won't slow down on compressed information like Sandforce-based drives will. The new Vertex 4 drives I have not yet tested, bu they have a Crucial chip with Indilinx firmware.

Simple - if you have a question that you want only BFL to answer (or not answer as the case may be...), send them an email.
By posting on a public forum, you are implicitly inviting any and all users to coment - it is a forum, after all.

Holy shit!

I just have one question: Why is this not stickied?
Because the people that won't follow it tend to ignore stickies anyways.  Undecided
58  Other / Off-topic / Re: So ... we're going to this custom party next weekend on: August 24, 2012, 01:27:34 PM
You'll need greenish eyes, a blue hat with a bottle top opener, and some face fungus. Grin

EDIT: and glasses
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Do you use first-class messaging? on: August 24, 2012, 01:20:27 PM
Too many options means that there is very poor UX design. I think signing should still be a menu choice, and not a separate tab.

Sometimes we get to see some funny stuff on mtgox and get a good laugh at it. For a moment I though bitcoin was rallying again, or not...
