684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does lack of coin recovery mean bitcoins fate is sealed? on: June 12, 2011, 05:38:15 PM
It is settled that there will only be 21 million bitcoins in existence, yes. But if it really did get to the point where there was only like .00000001 bitcoins left or something, I'm pretty sure we'd have enough common sense to just start another block chain to mine some more coins.

JustAGuy89: Also, in case I may seem bitter in my replies to your posts (specifically in the black market thread,) I just want you to realize that I'm never attacking you. For some reason, all of my posts today are seeming to me like they can be read offensively, and that's not what I want.

It's one thing to put a small message on your sig, its another thing to make a new post. New forum rule should be no new posts simply to beg...
He's joking. He's making fun of the serious threads like this. Atlas is a great guy, and a very respected member of this community. He wouldn't beg like this unless he was joking.

Theres no option to say that you think it is a good thing. There is only an option to say you're a tweaker. Theres a lot of people on this forum that don't do drugs, but still think it's a good thing for various reasons. I believe the usual arguments are along the lines of "Any publicity is good publicity," or "Drugs can be bought with USD too." In my case, I don't think it would've mattered, but now the media is trying to make bitcoin and silkroad look like the same thing, which is definitely bad. However, that's the media's fault, not silkroad's.
694  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Time between wanting your first bitcoin to actually getting it on: June 11, 2011, 02:10:08 AM
It took about a minute or so to get my first 0.05 of a bitcoin from the faucet.

and I then sold a steam game to get about 16 or so

Steam games/gifting is the fasted route to market for noobs

Where could I sell some steam games for bitcoins?
Right here on the forums! Smiley go to the "Selling" section of the Marketplace forum.
695  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to register on SilkRoad? on: June 11, 2011, 12:33:47 AM
I have a few accounts there. If you're really impatient and have some money, I can scum you an account.

698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What % of Bitcoin users also use Tor for their daily internet surfing? on: June 05, 2011, 05:58:48 AM
Nope.  Never heard of it before getting involved in bitcoins, and while I have now heard of it I don't have any particular need to use it.

I might look into it later if I am bored.
I actually heard about bitcoins, because I was browsing the tor network. I decided to see what was so bad about 4chan for my first time, and that led me to the hidden wiki where I saw a bunch of places that used bitcoins for there currency.
699  Economy / Marketplace / Loan Needed - Paypal Screwed Me Over on: June 02, 2011, 04:40:50 PM
Long story short, Paypal screwed me over and I need a loan of $70. I decided to ask the bitoin community because I've established a pretty good reputation here. I have a good rating on OTC, and a lot of people here can vouch for me. I can't tell you how soon I will repay you, but I will repay you. I would prefert you allow me to pay you in equity to USD, because Bitcoin prices may rise in which case  would be extremely had to pay ou back. I'm willing to pay a reasonable interest if requested. Let me now if you're interested.
700  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Introducing SquareWear.biz, a bitcoin only apparel store on: June 01, 2011, 09:05:39 PM
I personally love hoodies, but they're so fracking expensive to make.  We would have to charge like $42 to be able to make a hoodie.  How much do you typically pay for one?
I've paid more for hoodies, so I think this would be a good price. Maybe even more if you wanted.
