901  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do for $5 of bitcoins? on: March 05, 2011, 12:22:40 AM
I will do something incredibly stupid on my skateboard or bmx and purposely screw up, hurting myself terribly, for 5 bitcoin. I'll put a bitcoin sign somewhere so you know it's me. Any takers?

I'll bite... I can't send payments until I get home tomorrow, but I'll pay up if you post a video and it isn't completely lame.
Any ideas of what you want me to do? A few friends had the idea of dumping lighter fluid on a rail at our skatepark, and then having me grind it on my bike (Don't want to risk burning the skateboard.) I'm pretty good at landing that rail though, so I would have to purposely jump off and land on the rail or something to hurt myself. Actually, I guess that's kind of the idea.

Oh, its beautifull all .But I like the last one most. Smiley
Thank you! I really don't like any of them except for the last one too. The only reason the other ones are still on there is because I saw someone use one as their avatar, so apparently he likes them.

+1 for i2p. Tor services are so-o-o slow!

They are not.  There is a bootstrapping stage which can take about a minute, but after that it's ok.

Also, one advantage of TOR is that it is extremely easy to install.  Basically one "apt-get install tor" on debian.

I realize this, and that's what I meant. I guess I should have been more clear. But It's just annoying, because sometimes you'll have to reload the page multiple times and keep waiting and waiting until it finally connects. I do love tor, but the wait times can be very annoying. And yes, Tor is very easy to install, where as I2p can be a pain. If I really needed the anonymity, I think I would use both.

Not that I think this would actually happen, but someone in a similar thread posted that if it ever did get bad enough to where there was only one bitcoin in existence, we could just start another block chain. Not sure if that's true or not.

Maybe some one could buy this and sell it for bitcoin?
http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/Ben_NanoNote
Seen it. It won't do.
Why's that? I don't have much of an opinion on it, as I don't know too much about it, buy I thought I might buy one because it looked sounded kind of cool. Care to share your reasoning, just in case it might affect my decision on buying one?
I need a full-size keyboard -- that's actually built-in. You may not.

Otherwise, yeah, it is pretty nice. Tongue It's the hardware I was referring to.
Ok, yeah, that wouldn't bother me all that much. Just wanted to make sure it was nothing I would care about.

910  Other / Archival / Re: Silk Road: anonymous marketplace. Feedback requested :) on: March 01, 2011, 09:53:15 PM
It's a market with buyers and sellers and I guess no one is related to the operator.
Maybe buyers could have their wish list too that sellers may be inclined to service.
There could then be an order book with bid and ask for each product or service, and the more you want something the more you are willing to pay and attract new providers Wink
There actually are some listings specifically by silkroad, rather than a random vendor.

BTW, I see that someone tried to do an SQL injection... which failed. Wink
Haha, those are always funny. I remember xkcd.com did a color survey, where you had to name the color that was displayed. There were a lot of colors with mysql injections as the name. Cheesy

Edit:
Pretty funny: http://xkcd.com/327/

What was that one then? I'm curious. Smiley

Should I release these under the public domain instead?
915  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Physical Bitcoin Check Generator on: March 01, 2011, 01:28:04 AM
I this the one you were asking about in the off-topic forum?
916  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Physical Bitcoin Check Generator on: March 01, 2011, 01:05:36 AM
When you gonna launch this idea, man?
Considering barely anybody is interested in investing, probably not anytime soon. I have a better idea in the works anyways.
I'll invest once I get the money, I really like the idea. What's your other idea?
917  Other / Archival / Re: Silk Road: anonymous marketplace. Feedback requested :) on: March 01, 2011, 12:47:04 AM
I don't do drugs, but I do think that silk road is kind of a neat service for people who are into that sorta thing. Smiley

Really only your third week? I found you from the hidden wiki just about that long ago. I just assumed you must've been around for a long time.

Dropped my flag on SO-Cal.

Nice idea. Grin

Edit:  site unreachable now.  Hope I didn't break it Smiley
You are now the second closest person to me. Smiley Though, it's still far enough that I wouldn't travel all the way over to you just to make a trade.

This would be a good start for an idea to print it. QR-Code stays under a scratch layer.
Love it!
