This is probably the best difficulty prediction out there:

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

It currently calculates with ~19% on the next jump, which seems pretty plausable.

It's way too early to accurately predict the next difficulty change.

Hi mdude77,
I try delete all entry from regedit, but after first refresh, the error still there

Background app see below linnk
http://tinypic.com/r/14v5kw/8

What's up with 112?  Does it have the latest firmware?  Other people have had problems with ants not responding if they have an older firmware.

M

I shutdown 112, as the power at my home not able to handle all 9 S1
So for now, running 8 unit only

No firmware update since receive on April

Try removing 112 and see if your error goes away?

1684  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [600 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: June 29, 2014, 11:33:45 PM
That's odd.  Share difficulty is high (2.3m), but pool hashrate is low.

dosnīt matter,
they have mined already 330BTC with own pool.

my guess is more like 300 usd to break even.

 So   sell  at 600 usd  (not 1 btc)   = 100% profit  and they crush Am's Rk-box .

Is Any thing above  600 usd  pure greed on their part  ?  no  and why is that   ?

I agree with $600-they have to think about competition at this point. 100% profit is more than enough and if you can overwhelm the competition-even better.
I think that this is a sweet spot for pricing, which I prefer to be in $$, not BTC.

$600 is ~1 BTC.  Will never ROI.

1686  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 29, 2014, 02:23:00 PM
It started at around 25% from memory and climbed to 30% then back to 25% again. The point is though, if Bitmain are looking at high ROI, its going to take some guess work to figure out whether the last leap is going to be a repeat pattern in the next few months.

It's *always* guess work. Smiley

M

Not to late to take an educated guess.

At 20%, $.15 kwh a 500mhs S3 would mine less than .64 BTC before operating at a loss (after 129 days).

There is NO WAY anyone in their right mind would price these at 1 BTC or pay more than .64 BTC for one.

Bitmain's best option is to mine with them themselves.

I agree.  I'd say 0.6 BTC is the sweet spot.  1 BTC is crazy.  0.5 BTC and they'll sell like hotcakes.

At startup. If I press "continue" the programs starts but it doesn't show any information.

EDIT: Solved! It was my stupid BitDefender... without even producing any warning, the AV was blocking the monitor software. Now it's working!

Thanks

Good to know!  Thanks.

Hi mdude77,

I got error running the program on windows Xp with .net 4
See below photo

Hello, at what point does this occur?  What's in the background at the time?

M

Hi Mdude77,
It happen when 1st started and before each refresh (300 seconds)

Did you upgrade from a prior version?  Or starting from scratch?

There is upgrade logic that may be malfunctioning if you skip versions.  (I'm speculating.)  If you feel comfortable editing your registry, try renaming/deleting the key HKCU\Software\MAntMonitor, then restart the app.

20% dif increase -- wtf

all these increases really F**K me off

Everywhere you look there's people trying to get people interested in Bitcoin - but to be honest -
- increases  make it pretty impossible to earn anything.

Why would you want to invest in mining Bitcoin when you see your investment get wiped out in the same month- ordered 2 S1 - making 5
set them up 3rd June and by end of June they pretty much not earning a penny just back to where I was before Sad

I am not after earning a million ,  a return of investment and a little on top would be nice.

I really hope something bad happens to the greedy people  who are forcing  small scale users like me out Sad

Bitcoin is designed to keep the number of blocks solved to about 1 per 10 minutes.  You aren't the only one trying to make a buck off of it, and the difficulty is adjusting accordingly.  That's the double edged sword of the mining world.

Choose wisely where you put your BTC.

Bitcoin Difficulty:   16,818,461,371
Estimated Next Difficulty:   20,876,199,657 (+24.13%)
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Looking to be a trend.

And now with everyones BTC per day income taking a dump, the fervor should rise to drive people to buy more than one miner at least.

This same site said the last one was going to be 30%.

It's _way_ too early to make predictions like that for the next change.

I got some errors while opening the Ant Monitor.
After doing a restart it works without error. And the above said error not appearing in my system and it works as normal.
The window is just as before and not centralised.
My setup is windows XP and DotNet4.

Apparently the "center screen" option in .net really doesn't center it.  I noticed mine isn't centered anymore either.  I changed it to manually start in the top leftish area of the screen.

Version 2.1 works flawlessly with my two Ants.

However, I get this error in versions 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4

I'm using Win 8.1 x64 fully updated.

Any ideas?

At what point does it occur?  Can you give me the screenshot of what's going on at the time?

the top header row that says name | uptime | ghs  | blocks etc
if u alt click on it the errors pop up

theres a cell next left of name cell top row
now ive found its anywhere on the top row

I'm sorry, I'm not following.  Could you provide a screenshot?

M

If you RIGHT click on the header you get that error.  I just fixed that.  Alt doesn't seem to have anything to do with that.

1697  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Ant (S1/S2) Monitor v2.4 - now with alerts! on: June 29, 2014, 02:30:05 AM
Here's v2.4:

- Added the ability to shutdown an S2.  Note this is a one way operation, you'll have to manually power cycle it to bring it back.  Right click an S2 to see the option.
- Added the ability to update pool info on one or more Ants.  Note this only works with S2s by default!  You'll need to modify the cgminer config on S1s to allow SSH API access for it to work on S1s.

Notes on how to use the pool info:
- Once you establish what pool #1, #2, and #3 are, the option to update pool info will appear on the right click menu on the Ant grid.
- To update more than one ant at a time you'll need to enable to selection column.
- Importing existing pool configs from Ants doesn't retrieve the password.  The PW doesn't seem to be in the API.  Most pools don't care about the PW, so I didn't consider this to be a big deal.
- As noted above, this does NOT work for S1s unless you modify the cgminer config to allow SSH API access.  You have to know how to do that.
- Blank passwords are passed as "abc".  I haven't found a way to get the API to take a blank password yet.  Since most pools that would want a blank PW don't care about the PW, I don't see this to be a big deal.

PS.  The remaining things I have planned for this:
- S3 support which will happen when I receive an S3.  Feel free to tell Bitmain how much you need me to have an S3 for your Ant monitoring needs. Smiley
- Importing pool passwords, if it's possible, and someone tells me how.
- Setting blank PWs via the API, if it's possible, and someone tells me how.
- Bug fixes.
1698  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [600 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: June 29, 2014, 01:00:41 AM
I have a question, I have setup 2 nodes one has my S1's hooked to it and the other has my S2's attached to it, they seem to hash a lot better doing it that way. If I have them all on the same node my total hashing power decreases, will the slower hashing of the S1's bring down the S2 hashing rate or does it make no difference? Are there any pros or cons of running 2 nodes?

One node should be able to handle both.  There are known problems with S2s working on p2pool.  But if you found a way to get it to work, do share. Smiley

Also, how do you use the addpool API with a blank/omitted PW?  Every combination I try gives me an error, or takes my value literally.  ie,

addpool|http://192.168.0.194:3333,userid  <------ error
addpool|http://192.168.0.194:3333,userid,  <------ error
addpool|http://192.168.0.194:3333,userid,''  <------ accepts, pw is now two single quotes
addpool|http://192.168.0.194:3333,userid,  <------ [there's a space there] error

Thanks.
