42  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why all miners need to mine on a pool that pays them the tx fees. on: December 23, 2017, 03:14:26 AM
Very insightful Philipma! I've been doing a lot of research about pools trying to choose one for when I get set up again.
A lot has changed since 2015 that's for sure! I've been seeing a lot of people talk about this in different threads, but
you hit the nail on the head. At what point can we get a miners club going that only includes people with this mindset?
I don't want to use the word "union", but a group of people who stick to a certain set of rules, to take back power from
the big pools. I for one do not like what I see from the big pools, and wish there was something WE could do about it.

There is something WE can do about it.

Mine elsewhere.  Support the little guys.  Like Kano's pool.

And spread the word.  Recruit.

It is worth to join this pool with 10x s9?

Yes it is!  Welcome!

I just made a general statement, not directed at any single individual. Bottom line is, if you want to grow, if this pool wants to stay viable, as ANTPOO floods the market with miners, a welcoming approach and a lot of patience is required with Newbs. The people like me, who was new to mining and had only been in Bitcoin since last June. I understand it is frustrating but from what I have gathered we are dealing with people from all over the world who have extremely varied life experiences and which may not think the same way as you or I and vice versa.  Patience is in order. Tone is important. Turning people off towards the board or the pool only hurts everyone else who wants to see KANO Pool grow, me included. Have a good day and MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN. Come On Block.

I agree with you entirely.

+1.

How about being patient and teaching the New Ones who show up on the board better. Kano from what I can perceive so far is very patient considering he has answered the same question 50 times, and I have only been here about 3 weeks. Others responding to Newbies have not been as patient. This is all very new for the vast majority of the people who try the Pool and mine here. A little but of patience is in order. Honestly, I almost left after how I saw some others responded to on this board, but then someone would step in and actually help the person out and I stayed. Mine On with Kano-San. Come On Block!!

Did you reply to the right person when you sent this?  I thought I clearly explained what was going on, in a clear concise manner.

Thank you folks for the chorus of "change".  Trying BTC.com the last 20 or so hours...taking Slush and Kano for a spin next.  Smiley

Come join us on Kano's pool.

Slush is rather huge.  Also expensive.  He also doesn't post in the forum.

Kano is small.  We can use more hashpower.  A LOT more hashpower. Smiley

I am a faithful Kano Pool Miner and running in full node system. I have always received consistent rewards for mining.  The longest wait for transactions or deposits to my bitcoin core wallet has been 1-2 and one time 5 days.  I am concerned because I have my miners working hard, sucking up the power grid. They are mining and shares are earned but I have not received any reward or share deposits/transactions in over 10 days now. My last transaction was 12-10-17. I am starting to think something is wrong and contemplating going to another pool. Please help. What is going on?

The last block was a long one.

The payout from that block is sitting out there in bitcoin land waiting to be confirmed.

No one else will confirm it because of the low tx fee.

Odds are we won't get the payout until the next block is found here.

Pray for more hashpower here to reduce variance.  Actively recruit other miners.

Anyone else have hash rate drop off on Slush?
A few times a day I get a hash rate of like 6.xx for an S9.
It is running fine according to the local interface around 13.8.
But for 10-20 minutes a few times each days it drops down.
This happens to multiple S9's at the same time.
but not all by the same drop off, some are 10, some are 6, I have seen one go down to 4.
And each time when I check the local web page the miner is at 13++
I want to check if it is my network, ISP or something with Slush.

I've seen others report the same thing about Slush.  Without having the pool ops here, I'm not sure how you can know what it is, short of having a bandwidth monitoring tool with logging, or perhaps having some miners pointed to another pool to see if it happens at both pools at the same time.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: December 21, 2017, 07:38:46 PM
During the snapshot, bitcoin was around $5k. It went up to $20k. The money i had in SPR that went to HLM would have been much better off sitting in bitcoin than this shit project. 2 months with nothing to show for it. Unless this coin debuts at like 50k+ sats, this shit was a worthless investment.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Greetings,
Has anyone been paid for block 500096 yet?  I show it as mature and I usually have my coins shortly there after but its been a day or two and they haven't hit my wallet yet.  Thx.

That's another option instead of waiting for the next block.

Although I haven't had much success recently squeezing a tx in there.

Agreed, just looking at the possible solutions. MINE ON!! We are over 50%, every hour increases our chances of finding that next block. Come on Luck!!

WRONG!!

There is nothing relating to prior hashing that impacts the likelihood of the next second, minute, hour, day, week, and so on, finding a block.  (aside from difficulty changes.).

It's like flipping a coin 1,000,000 times and getting a heads every time.  The odds of getting a heads next flip is still 50%, just like the 999,999th time.

Last 24 hrs?
No blocks = no rewards.

Last payout:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg26690636#msg26690636

jiizzz ! They don't give me enough infos before renting, damn !

OK, would you give me a good strategy about mining duration? How much time have I to mine for interesting payout?

Last renting 24h solution burn me 30$US for 7.8TH/s, the goal may be to test wich device is most efficient before to buy it.

Any opinion, please?

Renting here would be rough.  It'll take ~15 days to reach full payout for any block that is found.

Why is the Mem Pool slammed. Is it because only 5% of the BTC Network is signaling for SEGWIT?

It's because there has been no consensus on how to address it.

Apparently "just upgrading the block size" isn't as easy as it sounds.

So we continue to live with high transaction fees and slow confirmations.

The free tx accelerator is here.

Per Kano, the tx id is:

9cfe4008a309f34a02729e90d3d2bd8e297cd64311602fd2ba705959db496ff6

I'd like to get the payout earlier too.  If enough of us try, we can probably get the tx in the accelerator.  Eventually.  Just post here if you do, so that the rest of us can stop. Smiley

OMFG  I found the unconfirmed transaction for this last block, and there was a link to Accelerate the transaction, by BTC, of course for a fee..  this is what they wanted:
Tx Size
38759 Bytes
Price
Based on the tx size, bitcoin price, etc.
$12755.93 $6479.82

The 12755 was crossed out, was a good deal.  GEEZ!  I see why Kano does it the way he does.  That's enough for power for an s9 for 7 years!

I would of pitched in a bit, but I cant afford that :-)

What's the TX id?  There is a free tx accelerator out there as well, but it's a bit dicey to try to get yours in along with everyone else's.

It is not trading right now at those prices. The system just came online and they are having technical issues. There is no volume and the trade history has been the same for quite some time.

They fixed it.
Bitcoin $17,038.14
Bitcoin Cash $3,257.38
Ethereum $801.56
Litecoin $334.20

That's still a bit high for a fork that is primarily used by Bitmain.  And they use their clout to force people to buy it to get their garbage equipment.

What a crazy time we are in.
