Im hearing things about the btc fork, rumours about HF , another btc coin called bitcoincash,bcc possibly two chains ,may double supply of btc? to 42mill what happens to the 1mill btc premine from old chain, who gets it on the other chain? +so many other questions.... this maybe new ground for btc maximilists, but etherians have saw this and many etherians will say, etc only came to exist because of the btc maximilists, so what is to stop the etherians getting back at btc by supporting the other chain? making sure two types of btc exist. This is where XRP shines, hassle free , fast and cheap  I can see alot of btc funds coming here now. |

Statement on the upcoming Bitcoin activation of Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 91 (BIP 91)
Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 91 (BIP 91, also known as Miner Activated Soft Fork) recently locked in over 90 percent of all mining hash power, signaling majority support for this proposal. BIP 91's lock in effectively makes BIP 148 (User Activated Soft Fork scheduled for August 1) obsolete and nullifies the chances of the Bitcoin network forking through UASF.
At this time, with BIP 91 locked in, we are confident that the Bitcoin network will successfully activate and enforce BIP 91 blocks. Bittrex will be monitoring this situation closely. We do not anticipate any issues with BIP 91 activation. However, Bittrex will close deposits and withdrawals of Bitcoin (including 2nd layer protocol XCP/OMNI and associated assets) 4 hours prior to the BIP 91 activation block 477,120 anticipated to be at July 23, 12am PST (7am UTC). The wallet will remain closed until the majority hash power chain is clearly established. Trading will remain active during this time. In the event of a chain split, Bittrex will take all reasonable steps to ensure that customer funds can be preserved on both chains.

With the possible btc fork soon... what will happen to btc price and XRP? If fork happens, btc value will drop and split between both versions...and if exchanges list the other btc version...then btc will suffer even more. Could this be the perfect time for XRP to become #1? XRP has fastest speeds...the cheapest transfer cost...the highest txps in crypto...& SBI VC opening soon....i think its def possible. i see a whole new wave of next gen exchanges opening, bigger and probably regulated more. When btc began, there was only mt gox and a thing called dwolla lol Then as the yrs passed new exchanges opened, new coins, new demand. Today crypto is at the verge of going mainstream, with the foundations built, the new exchanges will be even bigger and carry even more volume..exciting times coming soon.  |
