I generally don't like forks splitting the community like that but IMO bitcoin cash is the right way to improve bitcoin and segwit is a dirty hack.
Bitcoin cash set a bad precedent for future bitcoin hard forks. If this altcoin survives and thrives, then many versions of bitcoin with bigger block sizes will be created. All else being equal, imagine how superior a 16mb bitcoin is compared to bitcoin cash. You are right in that it sets a bad precedent for forks, though not in proposed reason for a fork. Still BCH is better at being bitcoin than the main branch. Guys, this is not an alt-coin, this is the way bitcoin was supposed to upgrade, the way the dev intended. Again i say , this is not an altcoin....this is the real bitcoin. How will it impact Ethereum pricing? will price fall harder or we can see next ATH? A fork again ? i think the price of ethereum will fall down before it like bitcoins before the segwit.Hopefully after that it will go back and recover to its ATH . This is not the same kind of fork as before. The previous one was intended to roll back the blockchain to "undo" the DAO hack, while this one is kind of a mandatory upgrade of the protocol to support new features. It is a positive change, and chain is not splitting. See it as an upgrade, not a fork. Mandatory? I thought in the decentralized world things are voluntary. A better phrase would be "necessary" if the so called new features are indeed good and improve on the other things. But nobody is holding a gun at people's heads and forcing them to do anything. This is a voluntary world, free of coercion. Maybe the "mandatory" word is misleading. It's like people need to upgrade in order to use the new features. Or my understanding is wrong. Cant BCC just implement Segwit as well and have 8MB + Segwit to have the upper hand? Yes, I know BCC miners would have to approve it and all, but the majority hash is controlled by a few individuals so it would be easy to do, right?
Segwit2x is destined to fail, Segwitcoin Core Devs are refusing to support it, so all of the software support will go plain old segwit. Segwit is not an upper hand it is a trojan horse to trick the stupid into trading LN offchain notes instead of actual bitcoins. LN=Banking (at some point they will turn it in to fraction reserve banking)The push for LN & segwit is that it will allow offchain transactions. Many Exchanges already perform Offchain Transactions that are instant with any coin on their exchange without the onchain transaction fees. So why does the cryptoworld need segwit & LN (Time Locking Coins for fees), well that is the funniest thing of all , it does not need them.╥Aztek Hi Mr Aztek....i share the same view...
