Interesting. So what about funds currently sent or spent at Gox?

I'd also be expecting Gox to follow the footsteps of the remaining exchanges but hey, this market's thrown some curve balls before. We'll see what happens soon.

https://twitter.com/MagicalTuxUntil now we had too much iops and system was having trouble keeping up with the load progression. Switched to a RAID 10 SSD array Nice, that should help a bit I'd imagine.

I could log onto my Gox account earlier and aside from the big red "trading halted" notification, it appears the account was fine. I presume you could move coins out but I didn't try anything.

Can anyone confirm that you can still get USD onto Gox or any other exchange at the moment with Bitinstant?

Was about to post the Twitter update but I see many already sent it out on the forums.
Well, too late to stop the volatility but let's hope once they resume that the engine copes better.

http://news.yahoo.com/wild-unregulated-hacker-currency-gains-following-015010691--finance.htmlFor those of the TLDR mindset, typical: Here's history. Here's why it's a bubble (recent boom, today's crash and recovery). Here's what miners do. Here's Silk Road Here's Some-Maybe-Legit-Uses (BitPay) Here's Why it's a fad. Kinda fair I suppose but we've seen far better and far worse. I'd rate it a notch above Fox for having minor amounts of research done but c'mon Yahoo, you can do better!. Oh wait, nevermind.

Well it's good to see things return to normal per se. Bitcoinity and Gox working smoothly and back to $170 now.
Continued the timelapse once Bitcointy came up but will do another large segment later tonight, then merge the two days into a longer clip. I wish I captured everything but it is what it is.

It goes without saying I suppose that while the alternative currencies have their fans, I would rather them focus on platform stability above all else first.
Are there any other exchanges that let you withdraw to Dwolla?

Also holding. Pulled coins from Gox last night thankfully.
But yeah it went down to the $140s, and now is back to the $170s $150s
All over the place today. Volume will be EPIC. Hope Bitcoinity is up soon but aside from that I feel most of this will probably correct by tomorrow. Wouldn't be surprised if we were back over $200 tonight barring any significant issues or further attacks.

Well, I figure the morning caught my recording on the insane charts going downward. But now Bitcoinity is crashed and doing maintenance. Can't blame them for the lag (um, GOX), but probably missed some epic buys crossing the screen . Clarkmoody at this time still seems to work fine, as well as Mt. Gox live, surprisingly. Prices are holding back at $190 for the past 30 minutes thus far. I think the dip is over and the correction started. +1 to the whole, oh no we're back several days' post. People forget too quickly. Even if I could've timed it, buying at $100 would've still been more expensive than what I did a scant two weeks ago. "Crash" is very relative! I'll have to tip Bitcoinity for trying to make it through the good fight. Can we all call up Mark K. or whoever at Gox and have them fix their stuff? That new rollout plan can't come soon enough.

I look at potential. Bubble means way overpriced versus actual potential. Bottom line: I will only get nervous way beyond $10,000. Remember Amazon, went from $18 at IPO to $1,200 peak. That was just a company. This is worldwide and accessible for billions of people. Yes, you may save this for posterity Quoted for posterity. I also believe this.

Gotta thank you for this. Caught some of it real time but a day like this is astounding to watch play out again speeded up. Just sitting there going WTF!!!! Again, thanks, glad to help. At the rate the market is swinging, I might cue up Fraps every night to watch the market while I sleep. If we have a flat day I can just ditch the footage. Don't feel like I want to make too many of these but hey, it's a good look back at the wild ride that has been Bitcoin. i like watching those! thanks for the effort. i posted to my facebook wall to help get the word out. if you made shorter clips, like 30 secs. long, then i think people will be more inclined to watch the whole thing...non-bitcoiners i mean. just a suggestion. I could, but 30 seconds I think isn't going to show someone who doesn't know about Bitcoin too much - just that "Oh noes, the price goes up or down seemingly rapidly." Will think about it.

*bump* Well, that's a little better, Bitcoin. Not good. But better. Now how about we quit playing games and get serious? I don't want to end up as one of those poor schmucks who still has to work when he's 35. as someone who is 31, i agree. Thirded.

Well, wow. Woke up to some good news and yeah, caught Bitcoinity's $200 video haha. In the meantime I made this in advance, though the price didn't take long to meet it. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzLZ8IaqIQY
