The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Oh Loaded, who art up in Mt. Gox, hallowed be thy name!  Thy dollars rain, thy will be done, on BTCUSD.  Give us this day our daily 10% 30%, and forgive the bears, as we have bought their bitcoins.  And lead us into quadruple digits

So... here are my todays results... I panic sold 0.33 BTC some hours ago and panic bought 0.34 BTC some minutes ago... lol.
I am a noob. Maybe I should leave this game.  Grin

I personally feel i have learned a lot after todays events. Hopefully I will be able to use what i have learned to be better prepared for next time this happens. I was lucky that I had some cash in the exchange at the time to take advantage of the situation.

What did you learn? Maybe want to share knowhow?  Grin

I am wondering if the attack today has anything to do with Litecoin and it being added to the Gox.I read a rumor somewhere on this forum that Litecoin was supposed to be on the Gox on April 10th.....but obviously it isn't?coincidence?

BTW,to those that held good job.Fundamentals for an increase is still there albeit a bit shaken now but still the back-up accounts at the Gox should still push a rally including the words from Loaded earlier, lol.

There was never good reason to believe that date. The rumour (of that date, not of LTC being added to Mt.Gox) was based on fabricated evidence.

Are you implying that there is real evidence that Mt.Gox are interested in handling LiteCoin?

they should sort their site out before they even think about any other currency, or maybe it's best for everyone if the BTC people left them and they ended up just being a litecoin exchange and let the big boys handle the proper exchanges

Go troll somewhere else.

On a side note, all time high in dollars by a wide margin, a big deal IMO.

Please hire competent programmer(s),  and by that I mean not to use the current id10t donkey you have now, to make your software work without lag.
The problem is their choice of algorithms for their matching engine.

 Grin

I did click on that link and thought "okey, now I'm gonna learn something about how their engine works and why it lags..."

Boy, was I wrong!

 Grin
You're right. They probably aren't anywhere near as advanced as that.

Not really,Fundamentals still remain.Loaded, clearly stated it was far from over,On Monday 'Bitcoin' had its highest search volume via google trends and the Gox is still backed up with verifications between the 18-19,000 mark.

Max Keiser ‏@maxkeiser 1h
@JamesGRickards Yea, that's what I've been saying: their is no actual 'market making' - A new, more robust London-based BTC exchange coming.

Hallelujah! They couldn't possibly do a worse job than Gox.

I know this because Tyler knows this.

LOL

There are all those bitcoins.  Seems like everyone forgot about them.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.
