Since it allows bets denominated in SAT, but you can only enter them in BTM, it'd be nice if the slider you can operate with +/- would get faster and faster the longer you held it down.  That or be able to enter bets in any denomination manually.  That would make it easier to martingale/progressive bet it, because once the bets get into the thousands of SAT you have to hold down the + key a long time to get to the next level.

The circumstances were completely different, but I feel just as upset, therefore it's exactly the same.

I'm not upset by either, just commenting on them.

I didn't bet with MNW, and I didn't bet on your scam site, either.
1504  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinjedi / betsofbitco.in SCAMMERS: Declares "Push" on obvious win for BFL bet on: April 04, 2013, 04:15:33 AM
BoB, the fake betting site, basically did exactly what MNW did, for which he got a scammer tag.

If one side of the bet had come in, in favor of BFL, then they'd have paid out.

When the other side came in, clearly and unambiguously, they said ha ha, just kidding.  That's a scam.
1505  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinjedi / betsofbitco.in SCAMMERS: Declares "Push" on obvious win for BFL bet on: April 03, 2013, 09:09:19 PM
As for Luke - By siding with the losing side on this with his supposedly-clever word-playing, he comes off, at the very least, as a major a bull***t artist. It's the same kind of bull***t artistry I got used to seeing from BFL over the time I've been following them since I ordered (and now - waiting for my refund).

Whether or not he's an actual scammer, and frankly, it looks like he is, it completely blows any remaining credibility this so-called betting service ever had.  Nobody who intends their bets to be honored will ever place a bet again with this ripoff operation.
1506  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bets of Bitcoin and the Outcome of the BFL Shipping Bet on: April 03, 2013, 06:56:47 AM
What a bunch of bullshit.

Clearly, this site can't be trusted.  They'll blatantly rig a bet to do a favor for whatever reason.  Only an abject moron or a scammer could possibly call this a draw.

Fuck this site.

+1 scammer tag
1508  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 01, 2013, 03:51:08 AM
If I believe BFL will never ship, but someone will bet me 25 coins vs. my 50 that BFL will ship in April, well of course I would take that, as if I'm right I get paid in 1 month.  In these cases I can still be wrong and win.

Plus you can then bet on another shipping date after that, ad infinitum, as long as you have takers.

It doesn't seem completely impossible, does it? How many of you would panic and sell whatever you had in your wallets? What would you do?

I'd be buying from the people panic selling.
1510  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Confiscation on: March 30, 2013, 07:36:33 AM
I am reminded of FDR's executive order 6102 of 4/5/1933 which, by the stroke of a pen, made the mere possession of gold a federal crime, and offered rewards to anyone who betrayed anyone else. Sure, a handful of brave people tried to hide their gold, but the practice became as marginalized and shunned as, say, drugs or porn today.

No, it didn't.  It was immediately thrown out when an attempt was made to prosecute someone under it.  People own gold certificates and gold coins purportedly outlawed by that executive order to this day and they are openly collected.

A law purporting to outlaw Bitcoin would ultimately fare no better.  A lot of noise and saber-rattling was made about PGP distribution and ITAR regulations to this day create incredible nuisance (and worse) for our businesses, and Phil Zimmerman was harassed for years for distributing it, but ultimately never prosecuted because he did nothing that was not protected by the Constitution.

I doubt you will ever see the United States declare Bitcoin itself illegal, although you might see attempts to harass it and regulate it to death in a variety of ways, likely to be as successful as attempts to stamp out strong crypto in general.
1511  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 29, 2013, 04:12:51 PM
fast cashout? How do you define that? It has been 6 hours since i requested my coins I would not call that fast.

Seriously?  Even when I had PokerStars and cashed out through Neteller, it would take 24-48 hours.  I've never had one take longer than 12 hours, and since they process transactions manually to avoid fraud, you can often get support to manually do it faster if you ask.

Will post if i encounter any unknown bugs or errors, so far like i said, so smooth. So much easier to find ring games and tournaments, i think you should think about killing off the browser client eventually because this truly makes it look bad Wink

That'd leave us who don't do Windows without any working client.
1514  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any Idea who is behind the sealswithclubs DDOS attack? on: March 25, 2013, 06:53:09 AM
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the highly plausible scenario that it is a rival/competitor site/industry.  Casino/poker rooms see some compeition rising up, Seals is getting popular, let's shut them down for a bit.

The thing is, the only competition I can think of is either ridiculously small compared to Seals (in the BTC poker arena) or huge compared to Seals (in the fiat money poker arena).

Seals is basically dominating a very tiny sliver of the gambling industry, mostly Americans who can only gamble in BTC.  Lately, the value of BTC is increasing interest, but still, we're talking 300 players or so at maximum volume.  The fiat money sites have a lot more to lose if they get caught and we end up with a retaliatory DDoS against them.  The potential competitors to SwC on the BTC side, though, have very little to gain at the moment.

I think it's likely ideological.  If not that, then some butthurt loser who lost a lot of money there by being a shitty player.
1515  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any Idea who is behind the sealswithclubs DDOS attack? on: March 25, 2013, 04:25:51 AM
2. The strength of the attack. The first ddos strike was handled by cloudflare no problem while this one brought the entire isp down.  The site was moved to a data center that specializes in handling ddos and yet still is being taken down/vulnerable.  Thats a ton of resources/infected computers/MONEY.  this points to government interference, maybe not our normal villains the US govt but say, the government of cyprus.

I believe the attacker is most probably the same person or people or entities who were previously attacking other BTC sites including Dragon's Tale.  The attacks have consistently been getting stronger, perhaps as the attacker gains more experience or perhaps as they simply harvest more zombies for their botnet.

I don't really know the technical details of the DDoS, so can't say if the technique is getting better or just the volume.  I hope BTC sites are sharing information on this, because if one site gets hardened to the point the DDoS is not working on that site any more, we will very likely see the attacker move on to other sites.

It may be the only long-term solution to these attacks is going to be finding out who is doing them and going after them personally.  You can't really stop a botnet without chopping off the head.

Looks like it's back up.  I guess now is when we find out what kind of firepower these scumbag cocksuckers have at their disposal.
1517  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 24, 2013, 12:54:50 AM
Getting it done right is far more important than getting it done quickly.

Especially if the two are incompatible.
1518  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 23, 2013, 07:37:03 PM
Cloud flare is also a shit service that has constant issues. Any respectable host would have figured this out by now and had you back up.

Not necessarily, it really all depends on the severity of the attack.

Cloudflare is great.  It will protect you against anything.  Except an actual DDoS, then it's not worth shit.
1519  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 23, 2013, 06:31:43 PM
We are getting closer, but it will likely still be over 6 hours.

Have you considered establishing some kind of cartel of BTC gambling sites (or BTC sites in general)?  It seems like DDoS is going to continue to be a huge issue, and considering the high cost of mitigation, maybe you should try to pool resources?

It may be that it would be more cost-effective to establish some kind of in-house DDoS mitigation services within the BTC community than just paying these very high-priced commercial services most of your profits just to stay in existence.

There are a lot of smart people in the BTC community.

There may also be some advantage in pooling resources to track down this particular DDoS piece of shit, because it seems to be the same person/entity.  A very public revenge could be a salutary lesson to others considering the same thing.
