121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | Hybrid Security | 25% PoS on: March 18, 2016, 05:11:41 AM
I have supported DMD on the StakeBox since the middle of last year. I only use SanDisk Ultra micro SD cards, 64GB is really overkill, there is plenty of room for blockchain growth with a 16GB card. These are really intended for those that don't want to muck around with any kind of setting up, burning images, or additional software. Simply plug it in to power and Ethernet, with the included power supply and Ethernet cable, and go to StakeBox.local/, and send some coins to it. It really couldn't be any more simple. You can check it out at StakeBox.com.
What flavor/version linux? My reason for 64GB is multi use box but on 24/7 ...
It is running Raspbian. Now the 64GB makes more sense.

Can I suggest putting together a quick guide on how to set up your wallets with the optimal settings to help the network?  Many are unfamiliar with this and it would probably go a long way.
That is a great idea. Now that I am done with the latest wallet, I do have a few other duties that got neglected recently, but should be able to get something like that together over the next few days.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DARKNET [DNET] QRK ALGO - PoW/PoS on: March 17, 2016, 08:14:10 PM
why do i keep getting obfuscation transactions being sent??? i have not clicked anything?? how do i disable it.
If it really bothers you, and you don't want to help facilitate bettering of the coin and its functions, you can add "enableobfuscate=0" to your darknet.conf to disable it. On the other hand, if you want to go above and beyond in your assistance you can add "liquidityprovider=1". That will keep coins mixing constantly, helping the network by providing coins for others to mix with via Masternodes. There is a sliding scale with that parameter, you can enter any number between 1 and 100, "1" will mix with the maximum frequency, "100" will mix less frequently.

If you go to help->command line options in the wallet you can see all of the available possibilities for the .conf file, with descriptions of their functions.

i just wondered why i was losing coins. if it helps the network its ok its not much.
s3v3nh4cks and I were trying to do some testing of the Obfuscation function, and with no one participating it was not just slow, but nonfunctional. Once everyone is on 1.0.2.0 and helping out we should see a big improvement.

Please update OP. Thanks!
s3v3nh4cks has had a real busy day in the non-crypto world. He will do it as soon as he has a chance. Probably in a few hours, might not be until tomorrow, it will happen soon enough though. Thanks for keeping us on point.

Nice interview! You are a great representative for Hyper and really come across as a down to Earth and positive guy.

Question for anyone - What is the minimum you need to run a computer as POS for Hyper? Thinking of setting something small up, very small.

Thanks in advance,

Hey everyone. The new wallet v1.0.2.0 is up on https://github.com/Darknet-Crypto/Darknet/releases now for all of you self compilers. I am working to get the precompiled binaries up there now, they should all be available by the end of the day.

Changes include:
Fixed the block rewards, at block 86400 miners will get 175 DNET and Masternode will get 50 DNET, as was supposed to be the case starting at block 43200.
Added a checkpoint.
Changed Obfuscate to Obfuscation.
Fixed the time the final budget is submitted, it is now 2 days before the superblock.
Enabled Obfuscation by default, the new default is to keep 1000 DNET mixed with 8 rounds, there will be a very small transaction fee associated with this, we are talking like .0002 DNET. We need this in order for mixing to work at all.
Fixed the transifex URL, where users can contribute to translations.
Added seednodes, shouldn't need to add nodes in the darknet.conf anymore.
Along with a lot of cleanup of comments in the code.

This is a mandatory update, everyone will need to be on it by block 86400, the earlier the better. There is a function that enables only sending Masternode payments to updated Masternodes. If you run "spork show" you will see that the output for SPORK_10_MASTERNODE_PAY_UPDATED_NODES is 1458752907. That is about a week from today, I just changed it now, so that everyone will continue receiving Masternode payments as usual. If you haven't upgraded your Masternode wallet by then you will start to miss payments.

thanks guys for the replies about the hosting info. (will flip a coin to choose wich referrer id i will sign under  Smiley )

now only one question though : I see owner of mp-hosting is pjctld . That name was telling me something so i've check and he was doing business a lot with the scammer iGotSpots lately.

is this coin in any way related to iGotSpots? is it another iGotSpots's clone made under another bct nickname?

just asking and i'm serious... not trying to fud at all, but really want to know if this coin is related to that scammer iGotSpots.  Angry

This coin is in no way affiliated with iGotSpots. In the interest of full disclosure, I did provide him with the Raspberry Pi wallet binary for CUBE, mainly because it is a coin I support on the StakeBox, thanks to requests, and the fact that I had to make it for that anyway. I expect he will ask me to provide him with the wallet again when he fixes what is broken with his current release, and I will do it again, for the same reasons. Other than that, there is no other connection between anyone on this team and iGotSpots.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DARKNET [DNET] QRK ALGO - PoW/PoS on: March 13, 2016, 01:08:28 AM
Current block is ~57500, total 14375000 coins, enough for 1437 masternodes. We have 345 masternodes in network, that means around 24% coins are locked in masternodes.
At last block of PoW we will have 64800000 coins. With 24% ratio it is around 1555 masternodes. And that's only in 2 months, then there will be PoS phase so masternodes count will continue to rise.
You still think PoW reward shouldn't be reviewed?
A couple of points, first, the end of PoW is about 4 and a half months away, not 2 months. Second, a high coin count is not only desirable for PoS, but necessary to ensure blockchain security. Third, if the price of DNET stays the same until PoS that would give us a market cap of about $260,000, that wouldn't even have us in the top 100 according to coinmarketcap, I think that we are destined for better than that. While I wouldn't be upset about a rise in price, this is not a get rich quick scheme, you won't hear us crying "to the moon" or anything of the sort. If the price stayed just where it is, I would be totally fine with that. The underlying function of the coin is what is important to us, we want to make something usable, and do it in a novel way. With that said, if you want to see a change in the rewards, go ahead and submit a budget proposal, and try and rally support for it. We will take this thing where the community wants it to go.

Yeah, the basics are simple and nicely written, also nice guide for multiple nodes. My point was for troubleshooting when things don't actually work as intended. As is case for me, apparently not qualified. Could someone explain what does it mean that a node is not qualified exactly? I had it running for 30 hours, it said masternode started succesfully but I checked today and no transactions have occurred and checked out that it is in fact unqualified... so yeah if anyone could shed some light on that..

Thanks for the write-up, appreciated by many i'm sure.

Not qualified is not a state I have seen, nor can I find any reference to in the source. What is the exact error you are seeing? If you run "masternode list does it show up there? Is this a local Masternode, or remote Masternode? Did you follow the instructions in the OP to set it up? Are you sure that you have a confirmed transaction of exactly 10000 DNET in your wallet, if it is a remote Masternode, the coins are in your local wallet, right? Again, without more information it is really near impossible to help you.

I'm referencing that, before I shut down

There is your problem.. In order to get paid a Masternode must be running and online. You will not receive payments for it if it is shut down. It needs to be accessible by the network in order for it to provide the services that Masternodes are getting paid to provide. It is of no use if it is shut down.

I'm getting error: could not allocate vin when starting remote masternodes.
Sorry you are having issues. Is this a local Masternode, or a remote Masternode? Are you following the instructions in the OP? If it is a remote Masternode which wallet are you using to start it, and what is the command you are using? Are you sure that you have a confirmed transaction of exactly 10000 DNET in your wallet, if it is a remote Masternode, the coins are in your local wallet, right? More information is needed to troubleshoot your problem. There are quite a few places things could go wrong in the setup procedure, and without all of the relevant info it won't be possible to remotely solve.

Followed, cut & pasted this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1262920.msg14138827#msg14138827 for remote .conf and OP for local .confs.

Using local wallet to start 6 remote MNs. Transactions sent 6 x 10000. Command: masternode start-many.

Get the error message for 1st 5 MNs, 6th says successful.

Thanks

I am going to look a bit deeper into this, but the first thing that comes to mind is, did you use coin control when sending the 6 transactions? It is possible that you sent 10k to the first address, and then when you sent 10k to the second address, since the initial 10k transaction wouldn't have been locked, it was combined with another input and used to send the second one, and so on down the line, until you sent the last one, which would be the only remaining full 10k input in your wallet. That would explain why only the last one started successfully. If you haven't already go to settings->options->wallet in your local wallet and enable coin control. Then, go to the sending page of the wallet and click on inputs. The screen that opens should show 6 10k inputs, if not, then that is what happened. I will try to figure out some other way you could be getting that error in the meantime, but I bet that is what happened.

Coin control wasn't enabled.  Inputs shows 6x locked 10k transactions.  Thanks a lot.

When you run "masternode outputs" it shows you 6 TXids, right? And do those match the ones in your darknet.conf? At this point it be just be best to start over, removing the 5 Masternodes that won't start from your darknet.conf, and set them up one at a time to eliminate some simple error that I am just not imagining.

Why this proposal suddenly disappeared from mnbudget show list?

I am a miner and masternodes owner. I think constant supply during POW phase is bad for cryptocurrency. It leads to constant inflation and therefore fading of interest of investors.

My proposal for supply reduction during POW phase. It will decrease inflation, leaving enough coins for fair distribution. We will have total of 45 360 000 coins at the end of the POW phase instead of 64 800 000 coins (-19 440 000 coins).

Blocks 1 - 86 400 (56 days)
POW reward: 250 DNET
Total supply: 21 600 000

Blocks 86 401 - 172 800 (56 days)
POW reward: 175 DNET
Total supply: 36 720 000

Blocks 172 801 - 259 200 (56 days)
POW reward: 100 DNET
Total supply: 45 360 000

Blocks 259 200 +
POS

To vote in favor = "mnbudget vote eb800b00add41c506738592d8cc7de53c17bbfec4ca572b77c778632c57e2c3c yes"
To vote against = "mnbudget vote eb800b00add41c506738592d8cc7de53c17bbfec4ca572b77c778632c57e2c3c no"
(use 'vote-many' instead of 'vote' to vote using all your MN at once via controller wallet).

It looks like someone took you up on your request to vote on your proposal. If you run "mnbudget getinfo POSSupplyReduction" you can still see it, but it looks like the number of no votes is why it got removed from the main list.

@s3v3nh4cks miners are still getting 166.6 instead of 175 DNETs. No plan to fix this bug?

We have found and fixed the problem, we are cleaning up a few more things, expect a new release in the next week or so. In the meantime, if anyone notices anything else that should be checked, let us know. It will be a mandatory update, and the fix for the rewards will take effect at block 86400, all wallets will need to be updated three days before that. We will get you a more exact time the update must be completed by when we release the new wallet.

How do I stop a masternode on a local wallet?  My funds are locked and I want to send to different wallet.

Close the wallet, remove the "masternode=1" and "masternodeprivkey=XXXXXXXXXX" from the darknet.conf, restart the wallet, send your coins.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DARKNET [DNET] QRK ALGO - PoW/PoS on: March 05, 2016, 02:54:58 AM
do you need to encrypt the wallet that is on the vps? the coins are located on the active wallet on my computer if i followed the guide right but is running through the vps wallet on that ip? I have just added the masternodeprivkey to the conf on the vps? bit confusing. Where will the coins made from the nodes go as well?

No need to encrypt the wallet on the VPS since there will never be coins there. Yes, the coins stay on your local wallet where they are safer, you don't even need your local wallet running after you use it to start the remote Masternode. The coins earned for running the Masternode will show up in your local wallet.

Enabling any crypto-currency to run 100% over an anonymity network by 'default' is perhaps not the best choice for all users.

Bundling the Tor software with any coin is also generally not a good idea or 'best practice'.
- https://www.torproject.org/docs/trademark-faq

Presenting all users with information and allowing them to make an informed choice on how they want to connect is the better option.

...

It is already possible to use this coin 100% over Tor (just like you can with Bitcoin).

darknet.conf (example)

Code:
listen=0
port=989
proxy=127.0.0.1:9150
maxconnections=8
onion=127.0.0.1:9150
addnode=y5kcscnhpygvvnjn.onion:989
addnode=5bmhtjvn2jvwpiej.onion:989
addnode=pyfdxkazur3iib7y.onion:989
addnode=ok3ym5zy6m5klimk.onion:989
addnode=i6vpvzk2jxuqqs5f.onion:989
addnode=bgdhpb76fkbw5fmg.onion:989
addnode=f7j2m26rptm5f7af.onion:989
addnode=gtlqzb5zbws5di7g.onion:989

- which would connect you to (available) addnode=.onion's inside the Tor network and allow for your wallets connections to also exit to other  clearnet IP nodes / masternodes.

Code:
listen=0
port=989
maxconnections=6
onion=127.0.0.1:9150
onlynet=onion
addnode=y5kcscnhpygvvnjn.onion:989
addnode=5bmhtjvn2jvwpiej.onion:989
addnode=pyfdxkazur3iib7y.onion:989
addnode=ok3ym5zy6m5klimk.onion:989
addnode=i6vpvzk2jxuqqs5f.onion:989
addnode=bgdhpb76fkbw5fmg.onion:989
addnode=f7j2m26rptm5f7af.onion:989
addnode=gtlqzb5zbws5di7g.onion:989

- would connect you to only (available) addnode=.onion's inside the Tor network - which is the most 'anonymous' / private way to connect, as your connections never leave the Tor network.

Using socks port 9150 in your .conf enables connectivity through the Tor Browser Bundle, right out-of-the-box !
- https://www.torproject.org/download/download.html

...

Users who don't want anonymity or privacy features might instead look to use the litemode=1 setting, which completely disables obfuscation mixing in the wallet.

~ In exactly the same way that many different groups of people and individuals use the Tor network for anonymity, you need all of these aspects in-the-mix for a healthy balance of privacy, security, anonymity and good connectivity.

The more masternode operators that can run as 'Dual Stack' nodes (and are able to publish their own addnode=.onion address), the better the diversity becomes for increased privacy and anonymity - for all users that require said functionality.

Well said.

Whats up with this wallet, i narrowed it down to this 40mb wallet, it way over loads my pc, no balance, no staking, 4 cores on 100%.  i close the wallet the computer calms down, i open it, bam right back to 100% on all 4 cores . . . WTF is it doing, its synced and just sitting there.  Not a fan of your wallet taking my whole pc just to run

Well, it couldn't be staking, that hasn't been enabled yet. Is it mining? What does your darknet.conf look like? That would seem to be the only reason it should be using that much CPU.

all i have are the nodes in there, i mine this on suprnova

What OS are you on? Is anyone else experiencing this?
