We can pay for uber rides with bitcoin?!?! How do we do that? You have to set up your payment method prior to the ride... I didn't know bitcoin was an option!
I don't know that you can yet.. but it should be a matter of months. Uber works with Braintree: https://www.braintreepayments.com/https://www.braintreepayments.com/features/coinbaseStart accepting PayPal, Bitcoin, Venmo, Apple Pay, Android Pay, cards, and whatever’s next -- all with a single integration.

well i have used fiver with bitcoin to pay a few things i have gotten done, but not really sure how it works from the other stand point where and how the services providers get paid.
http://blog.fiverr.com/fiverr-now-accepting-bitcoins/It doesn't. Yet. On the seller side, it’s business as usual. Revenue is earned and withdrawn in US dollars. The option to withdraw revenue in Bitcoin is currently not available on Fiverr.

I forgot to mention that https://www.bitwage.co/ offers this option to many. Although it's only for stable payrolls in developed countries...

It is already easy to spend BTC. It is becoming easier to buy and sell BTC. To close the cycle and have a real Bitcoin economy we really need some way for millions of people to be able to earn BTC. Thankfully there is a simple way to achieve that: https://www.fiverr.com/ millions of gigs, already takes Bitcoin for funding (via Coinbase) https://www.uber.com Over 1 million drivers worldwide (works with Braintree/Paypal) https://www.airbnb.com/ 34.000 cities, over 1 million listings (works with Braintree/Paypal) https://www.freelancer.com/ 15 million users. 8 million projects. (works with Paypal) If we can get just these 4 to do Bitcoin payouts for contractors, it will give access to millions worldwide to earning BTC. Anyone with a house, a car or able to work will be able to #EarnBitcoin. The payment processors are already in contact with these companies and have been offering the option to receive Bitcoin payments... how hard can it be to offer the option of Bitcoin withdrawals/payouts?

So, are we going to see a boom in bitcoin tourism ? That's good. A real white collar use of bitcoin would be awesome Well Expedia, Destinia, other travel agencies and some airlines have already been involved with Bitcoin for some months... Plane tickets and hotel reservations are a large chunk of reported Bitpay transactions...

Buying bitcoins with bank accounts closed is not an option. Maybe via localbitcoins.com in cash deals...
But the real option for Greeks here is earning bitcoins. Be it online or from tourists and exports.
The advantage for a hotel or bar owner of being paid in bitcoins vs credit card (which are linked to blocked bank account) is huge. Tourism remains Greece's top industry.

No need to go for a whole country. Start smaller. Choose a small Greek island or town, preferably with a lot of tourism. If it works there and people actually start using it for their daily transactions... then the rest of the country will follow. Some time ago Coinapult tried to do this with a small Caribbean island, the idea was abandoned. Szabo had a post about this in which he suggests just trying it with a small supply chain with a closed cycle. closed cycle: store --> supplier --> workers --> store http://unenumerated.blogspot.com.es/2015/07/the-greek-financial-mess-and-some-ways.html

I guess @YanniKouts is the most influential Greek reporter on economic issues... but he is in Brussels..
Still, I've sent him a few bits.

I see they're mostly singers/models/public figures... Would they easily advocate the adoption of Bitcoin? Would their main public be open to accept Bitcoin? It would maybe work better if we raised awareness of personalities known in Greece to be agitators, instigators of public revolt, economists, government critics, political commentators, or something like that Go ahead. Find some journalists, entrepreneurs with 10k+ followers on twitter who are in Greece and have tweeted in the last 24 hours.

Honestly they probably won't care or acknowledge it, I do like the optimism though. I rather just save my coins instead of trying to force adoption, it will happen regardless it just takes time. Maybe. But it won't cost you anything if they don't pick them up (that's one great feature of changetip). If just one of these 10 picks up a few bucks in Bitcoin, or just gets curious and looks it up... they could change a lot of minds in the coming months.

A great idea from Barry Silbert @barrysilbert: Anybody in Greece want some free bitcoin? Respond here Keep half, give away half #GreeceBitcoinDrop
Here are the top 10 tweeters in Greece, if we each send them a few bits via Changetip, we might start the ball rolling on some real change! @Desp1naVandi @ElliKokkinou @Nat_Theodoridou @AnnaVissiLive @Mariettta @xrisnik66 @Katia_Zygouli @evanvar @gusgofficial @gpapadopoulos Don't forget to use #GreeceBitcoinDrophttps://twitter.com/hashtag/GreeceBitcoinDrop

According to this survey of millenials http://www.coindesk.com/goldman-sachs-survey-millennials-bitcoin/22% currently use BTC or have used it in the past, and intend to use it again. 22% have never used bitcoin before but plan on using it. 5% have used bitcoin but do not intend to use it again 51% have never used bitcoin and have no plans to do so. Which means that 27% of millenials have used Bitcoin. That's well over the 15% tipping point!
