Hello Mem,

BitDice.me in a pending list for about a month or so, can we somehow speed the process up a little bit? Smiley

I think you will notice there are also others who have been waiting just as long Wink

I have 2 sites which have donated some btc for me to review so they have jumped the queue for today.
Then I have a site owner who has been patiently waiting for me to get back to him regarding 1 user owning multiple sites.

Then if time permits I'll start on the oldest item In my pending list Smiley

Hey mem,

I have some btc invested in YABTCL, and I think their system is really provably fair.

I will try to explain it from what I understood from the help.

OK, what is the order of the addresses in the file ?
I contacted the admin, who said it is chronological order by time of bet.

actually the file generated one and a half our before the draw contains the tickets that will participate on the draw.

OK, how can I as a player tell what times the bets were made ?
waiting on response.

didn't understand why this is important to you. The time that the tickets were bought did not affect the lottery result. if two tickets hit 2 winning numbers, they will divide the 2-hits-jackpot.

buuuut then, how do we know their not sneaking in another bet at the last minute after checking the results and not being happy with the payouts ?

this was answered in the quote you made from the lottery help.

Quote
We will timestamp the SHA256 file hash with a bitcoin transaction.

the SHA256 hash is enough to you to know that not a single byte of the file was modified, Or the SHA256 hash would be complete different.

and to prove that the SHA256 informed wasn't also changed, they timestamp the hash with a bitcoin transaction.

This mean that after the file was generated, a bitcoin transaction is generated to prove that the file wasnt modified. So, when the draw winning numbers are generated, the bitcoin transaction timestamping the sha256 hash of the file was already pushed into the network.

Hope this help you to understand their system.

By the way, you have a very nice site.

Good luck with it.

Thanks Im going to have 1 last stab it today before I throw it on the back burner.

What I have realized from reviewing yabtcl is that its not enough for sites to simply describe their provably fair system they need to walk through an example.
43  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★★★ MEMs LIST of GAMBLING SITES ★★★ on: May 09, 2014, 03:51:15 AM
I see on original list bitbet is still on there.  I think there are some issues lately, check threads on gambling page.  If they are legit complaints then the site is a scam.

bitbet.us ?

the site operator is a crook and a foul mouthed racist (mpoe-r = micera = hate speech enthusiast).
Historically they have resolved at least 3 vague bets in the site owners favour when the bets should have been nullified.

Despite the owner being a truly nasty piece of shit and several highly questionable bet resolutions I only list the site as untrustworthy

see here: http://memslist.com/?action=site_status&url=bitbet.us

The reason being is thus:

Micera being a waste of human life does not invalidate his business.

Now specifically regarding wager resolutions.

* a wager with unclear outcomes should never be hosted.
* All outcomes must be verifiable by independent 3rd parties.
* Wording of the wager must be clear without any room for re-interpretation (leave that for the bible).

Now when a site operator hosts a wager which fails to meet the above they are:

* stupid
* possibly corrupt (they intend to bet at the last minute and get creative interpreting the bet result (best example is bitbet.us for this).
* Highly untrustworthy if they resolve the bet despite unclear wording &/ outcomes.

And of course the punter is also:

* stupid, sorry guys but treat all wagers like a deal with the devil (literally for bitbet.us ).
* inexperienced. Avoid bets that are not properly structured paying close attention to  outcome conditions and timing.
* Possibly the site operator using a sock puppet (micera/ mpoe-r is terrible for this ) to reassure other punters "HEY DERP DERP, I TRUST BITBET.US YOU SHOULD TO, EVERYONE ELSE IS A TROLL AND JEALOUS".

Id label bitbet.us an outright scam if they ran off with the money or if resolutions of bets with absolute conditions contradicted the outcome.

mpoe-r / micera is just another nasty used car salesman. His transmissions are full of saw dust and they have put epoxy on every oil leak they could find, but he does sell cars and does not out right lie regarding the cars condition (just extremely misleading and a poor excuse for a human being).

Hi mate, sorry for the delay in your reply.

You need to drop the [ and ] brackets Wink

fix that up and I'll submit the text file for you Smiley

Is this Provably fair?

http://www.bitblackred.com/bet-verification

Provably fair IF you provide your own seed (like justdice).

48  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Fucking Ponzi's and the idiots that buy into them + List of Shills on: May 04, 2014, 05:16:50 AM
fucking idiots that post threads like this one...

+1 especially idiot DiamondCardz who are mod of http://minerdirect.org/index.php
and who want to win every contest in there forum that why low members of that forum and
still like a SHIT!!

English please? You don't seem to have a very good grasp of the English language. I've already said I'm disqualified from most MinerDirect contests - so that point's invalid - and in my opinion I don't look like a shit. We're calling out the HYIP scams so newbies don't get scammed. The truth is, HYIPs always collapse. Always. There is not 1 HYIP in BTC history which has ran for a prolonged period and has not collapsed.

keep fighting the good fight Smiley
49  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Doubt] (Powered by bitcoin) Bookmakers accepting SUMO Wrestling stakes? on: May 02, 2014, 12:40:10 PM
sumo wrestling does sound like something fun to bet on and watch.
Im pretty sure many of the sports sites would host that bet happily, where do you watch the matches ? got a link to a stream ?

Been a fan of sumo wrestling ever since watching blood sport (hehe i know, not accurate at all etc etc).
50  Economy / Gambling / Re: MEMs LIST of GAMBLING SITES on: May 02, 2014, 12:35:59 PM
Can i gelp you with this page? You are doing very well.

maybe help testing or creating a few members? A group?

yes you can gelp Wink

Everyone can gelp in fact.

Start by being extremely critical of any provably fair claims. If you can think of a variable that is not covered then flag it here and with the site operator.
I often get bogged down in peoples provably fair implementations.

For example, yaabtcl - looks nice, but tbh its a far cry from provably fair.
Im not doubting its fair, but here is my current example:

Quote
one and half hour before the time of the draw, a file will be generated containing all the tickets that will participate in the draw. We will timestamp the SHA256 file hash with a bitcoin transaction.

OK, what is the order of the addresses in the file ?
I contacted the admin, who said it is chronological order by time of bet.

OK, how can I as a player tell what times the bets were made ?
waiting on response.

Now assume the response suggests I use one of the sites pages to see bet history, well thats pretty good but what stops the site from changing their database as well as the file order ? if the answer is nothing then its not provably fair.

How would I resolve this issue ?
Well if I HAD to use a file of all payout addresses Id personally sort it alphabetically thus removing any potential shuffling of bet times from the problem.
buuuut then, how do we know their not sneaking in another bet at the last minute after checking the results and not being happy with the payouts ?

again I'll be waiting on the response of the site owner.

Now just because someones provably fair system is not provably fair under close scrutiny does not mean it is not fair.
Often site admins make a sincere attempt to demonstrate that their system is fair but fail in the implementation.

So a bit of feedback to the site owners can go a long way (they usually respond to my suggestions happily) and it helps me quickly review a site when I get around to it.

You could pick any site in my pending list, give it your own once over and post findings here Smiley
51  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Fucking Ponzi's and the idiots that buy into them + List of Shills on: May 02, 2014, 12:22:38 PM
What is the difference between a scam, and an idea that won't work?

None what so ever when you are selling an idea you know to be flawed as working.
52  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How safe is it to invest in just-dice on: May 02, 2014, 06:35:53 AM
It's the first one to be probably fair

While I do like just dice what your stating here is false.

Just dice.... is perhaps the ~25th to 50th bitcoin gambling site to be provably fair.

There first few are the original bitcoin lotto (good turned scam and now offline) or bitcoin darts (still plugging along Cheesy) closely followed by satoshidice.

If you can't trust just-dice then you can't trust any site as they are the oldest and the best in my honest opinion.

They have been running from June 20 2013 so not that old but the site seems to be managed quite ok and they have build a lot of trust

Yes, and prior to that doog was incredible helpful in reviewing gambling sites for my list and also would generate his satoshidice profit graphs.

As far as trusting doog to handle your money safely, well so far so good Smiley

Finished adding support for a single user owning multiple sites Smiley
The usual bunch of internal tweaks.
Moderators and Admins (me) can ignore all form captchas Cheesy

For site operators with multiple domains, please note the image below
(also applies to existing users who are adding sites after creating accounts).

Resuming my review of the yaabtcl as it seems I missed a PM Tongue

Sorry if I forget / miss a PM people, just fire of a reminder if I do.
54  Economy / Gambling / Re: A Simple Explanation of Provably Fair Gambling, Another Bitcoin Game Changer on: May 02, 2014, 06:15:08 AM
Yes, they use a fresh deck each time.

If they did not change their shuffle each time and only shuffled on the clients seed then the client would entirely control the deck order and be able to reuse old seeds.
55  Economy / Gambling / Re: A Simple Explanation of Provably Fair Gambling, Another Bitcoin Game Changer on: May 02, 2014, 03:27:57 AM
I'd like to ask if it's possible to have a possibly fair process without the initial shuffle.

Yes it is.
You would show a hash of the servers secret, then shuffle the deck using the (client seed + servers seed).

It seems that while the initial shuffle's order is irrelevant, the initial shuffle is still necessary.. Why?

Its not, bitzino does this as at a casino we expect a shuffled deck + player cut.
Bitzino does better than a phsyical casino but doing the dealer shuffle then the player shuffle.

Also for operators, do you use a "fresh deck" for every shuffle or do you use the previous deck to start the shuffle for the next deck?  The final result shouldn't matter if the RNG is good but want to see what others do.

All sites Ive played use a new deck each hand, so good luck counting cards Sad

58  Economy / Gambling / Re: A Simple Explanation of Provably Fair Gambling, Another Bitcoin Game Changer on: May 02, 2014, 01:38:15 AM
Im just going to go ahead and say it.

You shouldnt explaining provably fair gambling when its clear you need it explained to yourself.
There is enough ignorance and misinformation around already.
59  Economy / Gambling / Re: MEMs LIST of GAMBLING SITES on: April 25, 2014, 03:25:20 AM
sorry for the lag, back up now.

Pausing my review of http://yabtcl.com as the provably fair needs a bit of work, will revisit it later after reviewing some other sites in the queue Smiley
60  Economy / Gambling / Re: Mems LIST OF NEWBIE FRIENDLY GAMBLING SITES on: April 22, 2014, 06:30:50 AM
Well back onto it Smiley

Dealt with some sad business, had a nice easter break, time to get cracking again.
Ive got about 8pm's to catch up on, some may notice Ive added recaptcha - had to due to some bots spamming the signup form (to what benefit I have no idea).

Need to add some final speed & caching tweaks to the simple template engine, its feature complete for what I need.

And obviously there are some sites I need to review Smiley
Reviewing a lottery site atm, their provably fair system seems quite complex so Im ensuring there is no possible variances at any step, Taken longer than normal due to other business but I'll jump back onto it shortly.
