301  Economy / Gambling / Re: good morning on: September 08, 2013, 03:42:01 AM
well I ended up martingaling on just-dice, I tried satoshidice but it seems they no longer do 0 confirmation bets so most of the fun is gone.

I Came out with a profit of 0.15534385 BTC on just-dice, quite happy about that. Its the first time Ive given it a good run instead of just a quick test, I have to say I am really impressed with the site. Its super responsive and the keybindings tap straight into the core of a gamblers heart, its for that reason Ive decided to stop Wink
Its nice to see a good chat window as well, though the signal to noise ratio is about on par with btc-e Wink

Im going to have a quick break, revisit the above site with its provably fair and then look for a good freeroll or two on some of the new poker sites.

on a side note, Im loving all the sockpuppet avatars guys - keep it up Smiley

The new trend in gambling is to be the house: https://just-dice.com
1% edge.

 Wink

dont worry Ive seen just-dice, excellent work by dooglus.
303  Economy / Gambling / Re: good morning on: September 08, 2013, 02:16:29 AM
Hi mem,

Would you like to visit https://ggdice.com ? Edge is at 0.8% for the BTC room. Run your martingale (with very small amounts) instantly and enjoy Smiley

my first comment (and I have just woken up after a "pretty good night") is how do I verify.
I can see the seeds, nonce etc but not the formula used to generate the result.
304  Other / Off-topic / Re: [EDU] Provably fair and how it can be exploited by casino owners against you. on: September 08, 2013, 02:10:24 AM

Provably Fair is better than anything out there. False. In fact, it is my firm belief that the current implementation of Provably Fair is actually more harmful to players, because it gives players a feeling of security when such security can be easily be compromised without any notification or warning to the player.

This statement here I am calling bullshit on.

For 0 confirmation blockchain games that clearly state when they change the secret and display it there is only one possible way to cheat without getting caught.

A 0 confirmation casino could argue that their bitcoind node had not seen the bet before the secret changed. This allows for a ~10 minute window of abuse, that being said all players need to do is stop betting 10 minutes before the daily secret change and wait for the new hash to be announced.

Checkout satoshiroulette.com for an example (disclaimer Ive helped with their code and they have previously paid me to advertise on arby.pl), they log announce each days secret in the bet log so you can see exactly which bets were placed before and after the change and verify there were no obviously delayed (1 conf of greater) bets.

In this case Provably Fair is the absolute best random odds gambling you can hope for.
305  Economy / Gambling / good morning on: September 08, 2013, 02:01:45 AM
How has everyone been ?

About to start catching up on all the new casino's etc.
Also Im in a bit of a martingaling mood, what casino has the lowest house edge atm for one shot bets ?

Also, Ive noticed we have several new poker sites - even had 1 admin email me regarding his. I am a big seals fan but i would welcome something with a nicer UI so if anyone has some reccomendations on which one I should check out first let me know, else Im going to have a nice day of grinding some free roll tourneys and PLO8.

Also watched a fairly funny action-horror-sci fi: Iron Sky http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2130142/ last night.

I see the epic backlog of pm's as well, dont worry I'll be getting to that shortly.

mem is back !
306  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] batch #23/24 .18 btc ASICMiner USB + 4 btc NEW Blade miners on: August 29, 2013, 02:59:05 PM
Well. Just bought one for 5BTC yesterday. Feel like being cheated.

dont feel cheated. because
a.) they wont be shipping until at least tuesday so you will get yours a little earlier
b.) thats how the game rolls.

i know how you feel though, 9 days ago i got 3 blades @ 10.5 a piece. in those 9 days I have not made back enough to cover the difference in price so it would have been WAY more beneficial/profitable to wait and get 8 blades. Thats just how the bitcoin game goes.

these days it seems like bitcoin is all about selling hardware rather than actually mining. unless better BTC / GHs miners come out, bitcoin is going to slowly die off from the mining perspective.

I bought 2 @ 10.5 about 5 days ago, hoping that there is another coupon deal to be had.
I have to admit they were fun to setup, I genuinely enjoy playing with custom mining equipment but then Im a nerd.

This late purchase and recent drop is a swift kick in the balls cost wise, I was calculating a ~10-20% loss on ROI in exchange for getting some equipment to play with but things are feeling grim with the new miners being so cheap (another wave of hashing power).

Oh well, lets see how it goes.

307  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: August 29, 2013, 02:52:03 PM
Glad you are back. I was about to start a Dabs List. Actually, I might do that anyway since it will be my personal review of them. So I hope this is not seen as competition, but rather another perspective from another party.

not at all Smiley

Get well mem!

Thanks, looking at getting my sinuses scraped out as a permanent solution for this.
Doc has me on some nasal steroid spray thats definitely helping though Cheesy
309  Economy / Gambling / Re: mutterings from mem: Provable Results vs Provably Fair on: August 29, 2013, 08:31:32 AM
Some kinds of game are going to be a lot easier to make provably fair than others.
Best I can figure, the whole concept of 'provably fair' (as defined here) doesn't really apply to online poker. The closest approximation I can think of might be 'provably fair shuffling', but even that seems problematic because now you have multiple players per shuffle.  Just thinking about it now, wouldn't that require every player to know the client seed of every other player? Or maybe there is a simpler solution? I would definitely add this feature to my site (boot52.nl) if I could come up with a reasonable implementation.

But besides all that, there are much simpler ways for a crooked site operator to cheat. For example, the software might have a 'god mode' which would enable certain people to see all your hole cards. You see? So to me, it all boils down to trust. Either you trust the site operator or you don't.  And if you don't, then advanced cryptography probably isn't going to help -- at least in poker. At least that's my current thinking. Maybe you disagree? -boot

The issue with online poker is the same as table top poker.

Online == server admin simply looks @ what cards you are holding.
Table == Cameras, bystanders sending signals.

Both == Collusion.

As another user mentioned, you can definitely prove the deck was shuffled randomly but you cannot prove or disprove admin honesty in this situation. This is why I only play with small change, Im after a cheap thrill and due to my cheapness Im not an ideal target for a scammer. Its why this is such a classic scene in movies:

Pub + poker table = flip table + gun shoot out.
310  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: August 29, 2013, 08:17:39 AM
to all the casinos and members who emailed / pm'ed me.

THANK YOU.

I really do appreciate the patience and accounts you have setup for me to test your casinos with.
I am sorry for the delays, but as mentioned above, I was in desperate need of a break.

There is positive news coming though, I do enjoy running mems list - Im always quite surprised to see something I have done mentioned on forbes and the bitcoin magazine. So thanks to some kind words of encouragement and my own need for always working on a project I shall be expanding the list.

I have a small project in the works that will take the list from v2 to v3, I have some tricks Id like to try in this project as a build it so Im looking forward to getting started.
311  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: August 29, 2013, 08:10:39 AM
Seems like flipbitcoin.com is a scam since the 14th.

Made a bet and after many confirmations (site claims 0 required but I waited for 10+ anyway) and still no lose or win payout.

On the 14th looks like they cashed out their earnings and left the site defunct - have not seen any win/lose paid since these trans:

Looks like they made off with about a little over 6 BTC in their scam.

those fucking pricks, I'll update that right now.
312  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: August 29, 2013, 08:09:35 AM
Hi everyone.

So sorry for my extended absence, you can skip the rest of this post if you dont want to hear me moaning about life etc Wink

So, fucking sinusitis sucks, Ive been regularly smashed by sinus infections that turn to lung infections that turn to full blown fever.
Nothing fun about laying on the couch for days at a time doing nothing but sweating, blowing out blobs of snot and hacking up golf ball sized phlegm balls. In addition to that work has been putting me through the wringer and then some, I turn up back to work still obviously feverish (co workers insisting I go home unless I infect them) and have a manager accuse me of faking illness. Adding to all that Ive been "trying" to help the girlfriend with her new lunchbar she has started but damned if the only time I do get for myself atm is sunday night.

Bitcoin related I finally had enough of gox: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lbgs1/mtgox_9_week_delay_for_aud_withdrawal_requested/
+9 weeks waiting on a withdrawal == Jacob was finally out of patience.

I decided after the nastiness and lies I had to deal with from the satoshipoker admin, the ugly racism from MrPoo and Eriks defence of it, bitbet.us scam and betsofbitco.in bet resolution debacle it was long over due for some "jacob time".

So for the past 2-3 weeks I have been re-evaluating my priorities and came the conclusion it should be Life first, Work Last.

*SIGH* so thats life, it is fairly stressful right now and my health is up n down.
313  Other / Off-topic / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 03, 2013, 03:14:48 AM
Ok.....Lets call a spade a spade and really what peopel should be yelling is Fraud

Or obtaining property or benefit by deception =FRAUD

So its easy to exchange FRAUD=SCAM as its a very short distance for either or the width of the depletion zone in a NP diode

So has at any point BFL SOnny & Josh ever lied blatantly so as to gain more money & sales with full knowledge that they could not live up to their statements...

I think this has been a non-stop rackett of EPIC proportions when it has been about misleading pple to get them to part with the hard earned cash and BTC.....

Your kidding me.

Sonny Veilsides - the cunt who scammed retiries out of +$80 million USD and then had the balls to claim he didnt AFTER being convicted is running another scam. Holly shit, I need to let the people know Tongue
314  Other / Off-topic / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 03, 2013, 03:09:47 AM
Cannot imagine how Inaba can show his face at a Bitcoin event and not get lynched, people must not recognize him. Half the people in the place would be MF'ing him down the hallway if they knew who he was.

These type of events seem to be exclusively hosted by next years known scammers.

Last year we had Pirate, Gigavps (lol what a cunt but a brilliant shill), Bruce Wagner and even Matthew N Wright hosting these events.
315  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Store Batch 3 Status just went to "Refunded" -- now "Refund Processing" on: August 03, 2013, 03:06:57 AM
Bumping.. still no refund received. I assume this is the case with everyone.

Confirmed no refund yet; patiently waiting

My friends refund ticket was ignored they shipped the unit anyway.
He was to stupid to read the newsletter properly and apparently Avalon's support tickets are useless.

Avalon shipped a lot of units, and they have a lot of happy customers.  On some orders things didn't work out - but the outrage, calling them BFL like, scammers, etc is way overstated.

No, infact it is not overstated.

Yifu has been caught out in blatant lies to investors, there is no excusing or rewording it.
They stated they would not mine with clients equipment.
They have been proven to mine with said equipment, regardless of the amount this statement is now a lie.
The delays also appear to be fake / greatly exaggerated.

let me summarize the flawed logic we have here:

* Black can actually be white if you close your eyes.

I think this discussion has been here a few times already and I completely agree with you.

excellent demonstration
317  Economy / Gambling / Re: Heads Or Tails ( 50/50 ) ( Win Up To x1.957 ) on: August 02, 2013, 03:13:40 PM
first tip: if you're going to advertise "bets played" you may want to make sure you can back it up.

Code:
Games played today: 639
Games played total: 39426

and addresses both have a total of tx count of 3........

second tip: don't advertise provably fair if you cant "prove its fair".

alarm bells are already ringing over here.
318  Economy / Gambling / mutterings from mem: Provable Results vs Provably Fair on: August 02, 2013, 12:39:41 PM
I think people need to revisit the concept of provably fair.

First, lets give some examples of my gold standard for provably fair:

1: blockchain games that user the players txid (or another input they have no control over) and a daily site secret.
This imho is still as good as it gets, the entire betting history is public and anyone could choose perform an audit to verify outcomes.

2: Any site that shows you a hash of the site seed used for the next round and allows for users to provide their own seed or randomly generates one for them.
This is as good as it gets without a publically auditable db. Bonus points for no blockchain spam as well.

Now lets look @ 'Provable Results'.

2: Any site that shows you a hash of the site seed used for the next round and does not allow users to provide their own seed.

This is not provably fair, this is only provable results.

What is the difference you ask and why are you such a prick about these things site operators ask ?

Let me use my favourite game roulette as an example.
I as an operator silently observe the bettors and pick their patterns (red/ martingale/ singles/ whatever).
I pre-generate a huge sample of site seeds and client seeds (remember the client cannot set their own) and then cherry pick the results I want.

Say we had a player martingaling their bets on red, to fucking easy throw out 10 blacks and then insist they were randomly selected where in actual fact there is no proof of randomness only proof of result.

I have previously been to lenient on this and will be revisiting and speaking with casino operators who have (conveniently ?) overlooked this.

Flu meds wearing off, back to the tv and my heater.
319  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: August 02, 2013, 12:18:27 PM
Hey Mem, thanks for producing this list this is exactly what I was looking for! cheers Smiley

You are welcome.

Hello all, I got smashed by the flu recently - nothing like a 4 day sleep and shedding 4kg of fat /water weight hey Tongue

Anyway, nearly back to health - the update that SHOULD have happened last weekend will be happening tomorrow.
Really appreciate the patience and to the several casinos that have pm'ed me and setup an account - I appreciate it greatly, consider yourself the first to be trialed tomorrow.
320  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Store Batch 3 Status just went to "Refunded" -- now "Refund Processing" on: July 30, 2013, 01:36:49 AM
Can someone contact Yifu?
Via phone, or maybe someone knows another way of doing it.

Because this is becoming hilarious, and frightening at the same time...
He's been absent for two weeks know.

By this time he promised to:
1-st, process the refunds.
2-nd, send out batch 3.
3-rd, process trade-ins.

What has been done? NOTHING.

oh come on, its been nearly a month since someone woke up poor yifu in the middle of the night concerned about the pre-order money he is treating as a personal piggy bank.
