241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR-stak-JK 2.10.6 Compiled with no devfee (Updated: 2019-7-23) on: July 31, 2019, 10:13:33 PM
Ill give this a shot when I get home;  I just hope that it doesn't break my compiler like the last time I tried to migrate from 2015 to 2017;   I ended up having to install VS2017 on one of my game host servers and do all of my compiling there remotely....   all the players always complain of lag spikes when I compile the latest version of XMR-stak... lol!

Maybe Ill just attempt to install the whole ensemble onto my new daily driver laptop as it was replaced many months ago so i no longer use that machine that had its VS15/17 tainted and I could never get a complete compile/build of xmr-stak... this way I can still fallback onto a setup/config that I know still works for my primary goal.
242  Economy / Scam Accusations / YoBit's Fake volume on shitcoins, among others on: July 31, 2019, 10:00:16 PM
Ok;

I'm gonna be straight.  Yobit is massively faking volume.

I would like the person who got screwed and purchased from them the 7+BTC back then to chime in on this thread, as well as Mick if he ever graces this site with an update because he has always been erratic in his replies and updates to this site.

Currently (right now) there are 3,873,355 coins total in the BUB coin network at the time of writing this sentence.

on 5/25/2019  A poor soul attempted to buy out whatever was available for sale on yobit in this coin (7.323 BTC was exchanged).  The total volume on that day was: ~10,550,424 coins.
On that same day;  YoBit's BUB wallet suddenly goes offline....

Many of us have complained, and my support tickets have gone unanswered. (I can assume the others as well can say the same, for the few of us that bag these coins)  (I only started with 20K and have staked myself up to over 100K due to never ever letting my wallet going offline).

This is on a coin that has tanked in the last few years, it went from bouncing between ~100k and 10K satoshi often: to being worth 100 satoshi or less where I bought up my bag of 20K as the price dipped under 100 satoshi each time.   I profited on these large fluctuations a lot when it was happening back in the higher priced days... so to me, it was worth the reinvestment, as its no net loss to myself.

The largest wallet that belongs to YoBit is probably: NUTLRobEVnbY1rNq7WVcC8BGrWjnaDG4zG Rough balance: 1,229,110
Mick Ghee's wallet is most likely: NQUgLXfxua2XaiyyJEF3Ah7SR9fmb9My9Q rough balance: 820,738 (he is the BUB/Siraj project owner; now running under the name YouCrazy.me doing real-time animation to voice overlays)
I would have better active network balances, but the cryptobe richlist has been broken ever since yobit's wallet went "offline"....  yet the block explorer itself, still returns the active blocks..... hmmmmm...   coincidence? Cryptobe Block Explorer

FYI If I am wrong;  you can most likely reverse the owners of those two addresses....  Because I am not 100% certain those are the correct owner placements but am 99% sure as I don't presently have access to my original wallet that I received the funds in from yobit back when the wallet was online.

Tell me this information alone does not raise massive suspicion......

Does anyone know the owners of cryptobe?   I heavily suspect they are directly tied to yobit.   Same shit coins are searchable there, that are not on all the other explorers.    They did give up on maintaining that site over a year ago FYI.

Now this all goes in line with Yobit keeping on an XVS/VSX (VSync), NKA, etc fork and royally screwing people who do not know to check for identical block height numbers before investing/depositing/withdrawing;
Or with Yobit artificially inflating BTC withdraw prices/fees to "speed up the blockchain" while pocketing ALL of it and paying below the minimum for massive TX's during that time.    When I called them out on it they referenced the fact that they alerted us in the increase of fees;  and my response to them was a screenshot of their tweet saying to increase the speed, along with the screenshot of the TX of them sending me and 40 others BTC, with a .00065 fee attached to that massive TX.....    They ignored my response to them (never responded to me) and decreased their withdraw fee to ~.0012  instead of .0025 where it was.

I have some reservations about saying a few other things, because so far, they are coincidence and unsubstantiated;  but the timing seems to line up with what might be;  so ill keep a tight lip as to really be able to nail someones feet to the floor before ousting them to the public if my senses are indeed correct and let the community lay the coals and kindling.
243  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] The Official Troll Poll - voting has begun! on: July 31, 2019, 09:11:32 PM
The-One-Above-All / cryptohunter gets the attention he deserves;    and I am thankful for this thread, so I can blacklist his ALT as well.  <3  He should be able to get both of my votes.

**Spoiler Ahead**

Damn, I can't believe game-protect already has so many votes since he definitely isn't a troll.
On the other hand, giving him the label of "troll" might actually be beneficial for the forum.

I know nobody takes him seriously, but he does continue with his attempts of luring people to use his questionable services.

Game-protect is a troll. A few weeks ago he posted in multiple signature campaign threads and elsewhere, trying to get people fired who supported the flag against him. He also made several negative trust comments accusing many members of abusing children. (This has been removed.) If this wasn't "trolling," I have no idea what is.

only a troll would provide legal advice/services with no legal background or actual firm knowledge of such....

What version of VS and cmake (respectively) did you update to?

If this is so, I should submit a note to fireice-uk to have it noted in his build notes.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: July 31, 2019, 12:19:54 AM
It is pretty sad and somewhat depressing.
This is why I rail against the government getting involved in things. They ruin everything.

If I was a sneaky prick  I would not have been picked up.
I am picked up because I efforted to be a compliant taxpayer.

I have a degree in accounting  which really annoys me  as a lot of the rulings make no sense on an accounting level.
I a going to drive to the beach and have some fund walking the boardwalk with my wife when I come back I will do some more research on how to correctly comply.

Part of what is wrong  is simple transfers of coin out of coinbase.

Coinbase does not know where the coin goes so they  show it as a cap gain or cap loss.

*snip*

This is my beef;  the FED needs to stay out of things that are not of their nature.

If they want to tax the act of trading coin for cash, that is one thing... but the rest is completely obsurd; and I am pretty sure if we fought them with very expensive lawyers, it could be won... but since the  FED has always been known to strongarm people out of everything due to their own feelings.... this is getting ugly... fast...

Example:  The federal income tax code book says verbatim: "voluntary compliance" wherein they interpret it as "you can voluntarily chose not to pay, and get punished for it"... which the very statement of being based around voluntary compliance;  is 100% the opposite.  This is how they 'complied' with the 16th amendment and it was deemed it gave them no new powers of taxation, but they are using their interpretation to do 100% the opposite.

Same goes with things like the second amendment:  "... shall not be infringed" which is CLEAR text;  yet the "regulation" on how you may exercise these "inalienable rights" does exactly that.

Makes me want to change to a different existence some days... so disheartening.
246  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] The Official Troll Poll (accepting nominations until 7/31) on: July 31, 2019, 12:10:41 AM
I concurred with hilariousetc's post.
But then OTOH, now that vod and techy have gotten into yet another pissing contest, I'm liking this thread more and more...I might even have to plant a desktop shortcut.
TBF:  I dont think the opinionated pissing contest types are technically trolls;  they just are the types that tend to rub each other off back and forth in a very phallic way.

Speakin' of phallic ...

Honest question: Would the above constitute a troll poll?
Depends if someone builds a bridge over it...
247  Other / Meta / Re: Why blocked my account? on: July 30, 2019, 07:50:16 AM
I actually get quite a kick out of reading all of these "why was I banned?" threads....

The irony bleeds out of most of them, and a few, I do feel sorry for as they were productive members, but those people are very few and far between.

Soo many claims of "I am innocent" and "This can not be" and "please give me a second chance"... yet here we are;  reliving the "dream" so to speak....

Keep up the good work fact-checkers... you definitely do a good duty to help the mods keep from dealing with repeats of nonsense they already had to trash....    and you give me a good chuckle when the pain keeps me awake at night.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: July 30, 2019, 07:40:09 AM
This makes me very happy that I am in the sub-10K mark and did not receive any notice of any kind;  from coinbase or the IRS....

On top of which;  My actual income last year was pretty pathetic...  near zero as I was only well enough to resume my work as a surveyor for around 2.5-3 months and got a 100% refund.

This year;  I have only made one GDAX sale of BTC, and that was right near 10K, I think I sold .005.... and put that directly into a buy order at around the 6K mark for the chance a flash-crash happens.

I have however transferred around or exactly .05 multiple times back and forth to GDAX and back to my coinbase wallet because of the market movements, sitting ready to hit the button if the market did what I thought might happen (but didn't).  I only keep at-most .5-.10 in coinbase;  even they can go insolvent and I am highly weary of that to this day.

I wonder what the difference between the records of pro and GDAX are/were;  I haven't looked into the details that separate them, but it irks me knowing I sold at most $300USD to cover rent twice;  but the reports of my wallet/total amount I had in that time was in the magnitude of multiple thousand... which just doesn't add up in my eyes (it was pro back then), and those sells/micro buys were for literal gains of maybe 10K satoshi each, or just for a selloff to be able to pay rent.... yet coinbase said I had multiple thousands in value when I personally know I had .5 in my offline personal wallet not associated with them.  I can see the old PRO buys/sells in my GDAX history as well (from pre-2017).

I was very uneasy about any exchange back then (still weary because of the MountCocks fiasco), and only sent to coinbase when I wanted to spend it; and the Tx fees were very small (very pre-2017).

So overall, this is why I am lucky I am 100% under the radar, and a lot of it was traded F2F for other assets back then so I could flip those assets and equalize my rent concerns....   Being out of work;  I had to make ends meet somehow, and with the most amount of profit on my end.

came across 8 GT 690 to add mining XMR.

the auto config is detecting 2 cards (per card), is this correct? can anyone share the optimal configuration? blocks, threads?

which cuda version should be used with GTX 690?

thanks

some cards like multiple threads as they can multitask better...

check http://www.xmrstak.com for user-uploaded settings.

Yep;  its beautiful over here!   I will definitely enjoy my time!

I am trying to run cn-gpu but im getting invalid submits. With the release version its working fine?? Even when I compiled myself I was getting invalid submits. Can you try it on your end to see if its working properly?

cn-gpu?   is that a separate algo?  where are you mining to?

I could remotely test, but when I left for vacation I powered off my test rig and need to be there to physically power it on.

Send me the details of what pool you are mining to, a copy of your AMD/NVIDIA.txt file(s) or cpu.txt files using this format:
nvidia.txt
Code:
Code quoting examples like this one using the hashtag button

As well as provide the model of graphics card and vendor of card you are using; and any other applicable specific details I may need to know to test.

I will do a little research and see if I can have an answer for you.

I literally remotely compiled and uploaded the recent build while away on vacation, and could not test myself, though the initial party(s) haven't complained about any issue other than a potential reduced hashrate to other versions which may have just been the .txt files being reset to the new relaxed settings that were noted in the changelog/release notes on fireice's github.

I personally only use xmr-stak 100% for XMR; and no other coins/algos.   If you are mining a different coin/algo... I would have to set up to mine at whatever pool you are using so if that is so;  provide me your username and hopefully it has no password (or just an 'x') so i can use your profile to test and not worry about setting up a wallet for an address to mine-to, etc. because to be frank;  that is too much hassle for this free service I am providing.  If you are going to provide me your pool credentials;  send me a PM with your pools.txt using the code quoting example above.

And as a side note, im not sure if XTL-stak is even a thing that is present/used today.... I only compiled it once upon request because it uses almost identical code structures and compile settings.

is anyone considering the legality of applying new rules ex-post-facto?    Ex-post-facto fights usually end up being won by the defendant, not the person forcing the ruling on pre-rule days.....

Being the initial ruling of a commodity with no specific tax requirements, I think it might be a valid thought.

I got my vote on: The-One-Above-All

Guy is such an asshat he is the only one I have silenced on my feed... I only see his crap now via the quoted replies of his idiotic statements....   Im curious at the total nomination votes he ends up with... for the lolz.

I would probably give him all of my votes if applicable.

<3   I hope you get to recover your account swiftly.   I enjoyed the input I have received from you in the past.

If you need my help, send me a PM and I will do so in any way I can... however limited that can be.

The plagiarism thing is kinda irking... but one step at a time.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: July 27, 2019, 07:03:18 AM
Phil, you may be onto something...

So correct me if i'm wrong,   I send lets say .5 to GDAX;  my account goes less as a result;  then I send .5 from GDAX back into my account.... they are counting it all....
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: July 27, 2019, 02:42:49 AM
yeah, i have beef with coinbase's sayings that I has several thousands worth of BTC in my account during the height of the mining/price boom;  wherein i never had more than ~480-560 in the account....

I never got any tax messages though, so I think I flew properly under the requirements for taxes?   Yet... there were no rules on taxes against that commodity during that time anyways.....

All of my trading was done through different exchanges or private party;  and only once did I cash out a chunk to pay my full months rent with it.

I did do a handful of micro-payments buying small things on my shift card (a drink here, a ticket there, some shopping now and then) for under $20-$25 each time.

Maybe it adds up... but;  to be honest;  I think its an inflated number somehow.

i see no legitimate reason to buy an account instead of creating it and posting as yourself.....

if someone can bring to the table something to change this in a logical manner, my ears are open.     The reasoning for personal account development/advancement is pretty clear... and buying an account;  has no legitimate basis in my eyes.

If someone is really considering legal actions over someone else's opinion;  well... that is soo lacking in a logical basis that i seriously have zero thoughts to contribute as it is pretty clear to the layman why it is such.

I can understand the reason someone would want to sell their account;  to step away and make a profit....   which is a normal logical thought process.
