I haven't managed to sell my D8P setup... I had requisitioned it for a transcoding/streaming machine to learn the ins and outs of OBS and different methods of re encoding without the machine lag and other issues....
But if this stimulus check is really a thing; I will either do one of two things:
a) Buy video cards and re-populate the D8P to mine _insert best to mine here since i'm out of the loop on the mining side_
b) Turn it directly into BTC and continue to HODL.
I wish I had bought when it was at 4,xxx again... but i was mostly broke, and figured repairing my leaking roof is smarter than buying BTC...
See; the rub with me is that I have never trusted ETH.
In my eyes: ETH is on the same "security" level as Adobe Flash... the fact we have ETC is proof of that.
I would need to have some seriously concrete reasoning to convince me to give it a shot for the first time myself.
I mean, I have set up miner software once or twice on ETH; but I usually just did multipool stuff. During '15ish, was making hand over fist on skien mining.... Im very partial to the nvidias, but am curious about possibly slapping together an amd rig with some beef but not too terribly big of a power draw... but times are getting closer to having a much larger power allotment at home. Luckily, its included with rent.... and... is extremely cheap via several different means...

I have yet to see vod fully articulate his accusations with facts....
so far its all ignoring the important core questions, making wild claims with no supporting facts solely based on conjecture.... and denigration for the rest of what he spews.
Once this thread is over, he's on the ignore list.

I can prove Vod is accusing OG of stealing. (his accusations are there, seen in black and white clear as day) Vod has yet to prove OG stole, he can only base his judgments on assumptions as far as I can tell. (I.E. vod is making accusations, but not proving them true with facts; only assumptions as far as i can tell after reviewing the reference materials given). My only logical conclusion at this point is that Vod has a problem with performing a logical deduction without assumption. Tell me where I have missed a step in this factual analysis of the present situation?? If it's Vod that answers, it should first address this, before addressing the above as you should take issues in order: From day one, I have been trying to save this community from scammers like OG.

I'm probably going to end up a target because I am honest and straightforward. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think I've been more of an dickwad than most people when it comes to DT members... Shitposts, mild trolling, a lot of rick rolls... if you want someone even more interesting you could take a look at TMAN. All I can say is that if there's a point where the DefaultTrust system evolves to a degree where someone being objective and direct results in negative trust, I'd be one of the (presumably) many users that would justly counter... and if it were not the case, then the system would have been ravaged to such a degree that faith therein should only be reserved to the ones abusing it, or to those that don't give a shit about honesty. TBH; even though this isn't exxactly an "on topic" reply; I've enjoyed your writings and presence. You are the correct level of a memer.... 100% In attempt to keep it on topic: the abuse of worthless negative trust ratings recently is pretty sickening IMHO. I could care less about these little minor scuffs I have; but in all honesty: they could somehow work their way up the ranks... then it looks completely different. In that sense, I think trust should have a backwards thinking application; as in any DT rating you had when that was posted; should stay... but imagine the SQL DB bloat from just recording that.... Anyone catch the ETH dev call today? If so can you summarize the conclusion because I still don't understand whether ProgPOW is a go or not. Seems that people were for and against it and now I don't know where we stand.
Either way. Apparently the Antminer E3 accounts for around 40% of the total ETH hashrate. There was a nonce fingerprinting done similar to what was done with XMR old algo and it turns out that 40% is from the certain ASIC. It was released by BitsbeTrippin and you can find it on their twitter. So in about a month or so around 40% of the hashrate is going to disappear.
This is why I never trusted ETH most likely they won't go to ProgPOW they really don't care about miners much. At least we will get a boost when the asics die off. I do think those machines could be tweaked to have more ram. I wonder if someone (Bitmain) has a lot of higher memory machines in hand mining in the background. They reach out to ETH dev and poof no algo switch. This would mean that 40% hashrate drop will be 30% as bitmain had 1 in 4 machine on the network and they have jack up memory. Which is why they made sure to build the units with ddr2 not ddr3 ram. The 3 of 4 units out in the wild won't find much ddr2 to upgrade with. From the disassembly videos that I saw posted on Youtube, the ram seems to be soldered into the hash board. Looks like they just bought the actual memory chips and not the actual memory module that most computer use. So I don't think its possible to add more memory. It would take forever to desolder every single ram chip and replace with a higher capacity. Also it would need to be reprogramed, most likely won't be plug and play. you could swap the chips and update the SPD to change the ram amounts..... that is if the memory controller can handle the larger amount. >) |

Its a classic case of denigrate and deflect, providing one tiny caveat to make the post not something that can be flagged as useless/pointless.... similar to a jibberish bot, but, real sentences and grammar are being used. I have lots of patience... and will sit and ask the simple black and white question over and over again like JLP does.... Until the question actually gets answered instead of tiptoed around. I gave him ample opportunity to prove he was not any of the accusations placed on him and all he did was plead for me to remove red trust, and threaten me/denigrate me in PM. Can an admin please review this case of red trust on my profile left with no reference? I know his trust means nothing on my record, but this is not how trust is to be used. |

OgNasty and Vod have been going at it for years. OgN successfully got Vod pissed enough while he was drinking to post his address (which isn't exactly all that secret). Vod removed it and admitted he shouldn't have done that, and I'm sure he regretted it as soon as he sobered up and realized he just gave his feedback war enemies the "Vod will doxx anyone for any reason card.." - and he kind of deserves it for making that mistake. You stating I did something I didn't is also as crime. You need to find someone to charge and convict me. I believe he was providing the reality that maliciously doxing or threatening people; is illegal via the above federal statute.... FYI: there are laws you may not even know of. Example: even if you aren't in California; it is illegal to record a private conversation without both parties consent if one of those persons is in California.... most Californians don't even know this. But a real answer instead of snarky comments goes a long way in this world... I believe he is referencing the multiple drunken doxing threats, and if i'm also not mistaken, one or two actual instances of doxing that were redacted. Act like a grown-up; not a child. |
