The verbage in the OP is "scammy" Both Dash and Etherium behavior is scammy at best Is Mcdonalds scamming people? Or is their behavior scammy? I can eat whatever mcD's is selling, (so they are not a scam) but they do act scammy by trying to trick people into thinking that it is actual food. Dash's biggest claim to fame is it's anonymous nature, (which many view as scammy since it's not anonymous, ie:too many attack vectors) Etherium is acting scammy by hyping their product b4 they can prove that it will actually work. How exactly is DASH a scam??? I see a lot of productive uses for DASH that fill in voids left by bitcoin. Everybody wants to troll and talk shit...how about some well thought out discussions instead??? I always see people trashing DASH but never backing it up with any evidence. I am very interested in hearing Peter Todd's breakdown of DASH as well. There are a lot of smart people in the crypto space so lets hear some good analysis
Agreed; I asked how DASH is a scam because I keep seeing that claim come up and didn't mean you were implying that. I have seen the Peter Todd twitter comment which is why I said I would like to hear his breakdown on DASH, I want to know the specifics.

Well, thats really a tough thing to answer. It seems lately even alot of the 'good' coins are dying out or losing community support. I think MaryJaneCoin, PotCoin, Dashcoin, and JoinCoin are possible good coins for a long term investment.
dashcoin is crap, I think you meant to say DASH (formally drk)

It is hard for those of us with 7 figure investments on the line to stomach huge swings in revenue. Despite the reality that over time it shouldn't matter.....the timing differences in cash flow can be gut wrenching.
You need to define the timeframe before we can even begin to guesstimate how much hashrate is required to alleviate your variance concerns? Lets say a week. to pay bills, service debt, invest in expansion, I would like a 95% confidence interval I will make 90% of my expected earnings for 2 PH. Quit being a pussy and jump!

I'm currently using Stratum protocol and PPLNS. I noticed that with P2P protocol Antpool would also pay Tx Fee to miners.
So would I earn more in P2P?
You would earn more and learn more using a smaller pool, several which are much more profitable than anthole...i mean antpool. I mined on Antpool for a long time, some days had great payouts, other days had terrible payouts and when averaged out I could have made a lot more elsewhere. Antpool also SPV mines which is dangerous plus they have grown way too large along with a few other Chinese pools. Protect your investment and mine elsewhere.

Thank you for that!
if we put in a dryer outlet, what cord would we need to convert from a dryer outlet to connect to the unit?
Are you running the Bitmain 1600w PSU directly to the wall? or using a pdu or some other sort of surge protection?? That will determine what plug to get. I picked up some used APC AP7911 switched PDU's which work awesome and can be controlled remotely. If you go this route you will need c14 to c13 cable to run the Bitmain PSU to the AP7911 PDU and then you would need a NEMA L6 30R outlet. The APC Ap7911 has an AC power cable already.

It has also been posted many times about if you can trust the miners you rent to report a block if found. Also you have no idea how far away from the pools servers they are located.
I've been wondering about this. Does anyone have any references on this, or perhaps kano/ck can comment on what safeguards exist against bad miners? Do you test miners periodically to see if they faithfully report winning hashes? Well...your question itself is the reason I don't rent hash. There's no BTCPD gonna look out for us. Our security is our own responsibility. That said, I'm sure the renters are, on the whole, honest...but I don't see much of a way to independently (as a user) verify that, and so my basically paranoid personality tends to rely on my own gear, and on a pool that essentially has the Bernie Sanders outlook...keep it honest, keep it efficient, and keep on truckin'... Bernie Sanders?!? Looks like we have a socialist mining here

I feel like I have read the answer to this question some time ago but I cant find it. If I am mining at stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333 , what should I use as my backup to keep mining here if the first fails?
Front page is always a good place to start. As a general rule. I did read the front page, let me re-phrase my question: In case of a ddos attack that would affect mining at stratum:+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333, what should I use as a backup?

is https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator a good place to calculate ROI? i keep messing with this thing and still cant find ROI.....everytime i do it im in the hole $700+ after 200+ days. these things need to be cheaper. and with the reliability issues of late, i think im better off just buying a bunch of btc and seeing if it increases in value over those 200 days...when stuff lasts 2 weeks and burns up or fails..... that means it is total crap! I'm curious... Does your electricity rate per kWh need to be cheaper? 5.9 cents a KW. which is low for most of the USA.... And you can't see ROI? Can you not see future price of bitcoin going up considerably just before the block halving? Of course, I have plans on moving soon to an area with $0.0285 to $0.0325 per kWh. That's the main reason I'm loading up on rigs. However, I'm not moving until I have 200+ S7's. It could be end of July [After block halving] or it could be the last quarter of 2016. It depends on how certain things play out as to the timing of my move. Where are you looking to move that has those low electric rates?
