1  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are your expectations for Casino coins in this coming bull run? on: April 11, 2024, 09:03:02 PM

There are more casino tokens besides those listed on OP. I think their prices will also run up just like any other crypto tokens but I wouldn't expect prices to shoot like there is a major use case for these tokens, they are all limited to what casinos may provide for these tokens to have some use.

The narratives are changing every time. In the real world, gaming stocks are more profitable than crypto. I guess crypto market isn't giving these casino tokens its time yet.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land Based Casinos in the Digital Age on: April 11, 2024, 04:05:47 PM
There is a intriguing atmosphere the brick and mortar casinos provides that can't be felt by the use of online gambling. Its a feeling that is inexplicable which is why there are gamblers that will at any time choose on-land based casinos over on-line.

IMO, online casino is not here to send on-land casinos to extinction but as a way to compliment or more of an alternative in areas or situations where on-land is not accessible. One thing that made online casinos popular and embracing was the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, so it's only in situations as that we will have on-land casinos lacking patronage.

They are going to slowly decrease though. Over time, traditional casinos will eventually just fewer and fewer and may only exist in major cities where tourist travels a lot. It's going to be the place where people celebrate their stag parties and business success and then attendees are just going to stay on the casino til the night is over. Physical casinos will slowly die.

4  Economy / Reputation / Re: If you were a campaign manager would you select these members for campaigns? on: April 10, 2024, 05:26:55 PM
The reality is that 2nd page up to the 20th page isn't always read by organic visitors from the internet.
I think campaign managers should consider users who always post on the first page because they are the first to be noticed.
It's not that it isn't always read, its almost never read but that doesn't mean that only the posts written on the first page should count as there are "megathreads" that are more worth reafing than many brand new topics.

Usually, the visitor will go to the first page and then read the first page comments and if they landed on the 5th or 10th because there are more keywords to that 5th or 10th page, they back read for some time but if they didn't find the answer, they'd skip and go to the first page again.

A user would notice that even the 50th-page-answers are quoting the OP in the first-page post. For a campaign to be successful, I think hiring users who usually reply on the first page has higher chance.

I took my time to read almost all replies on this thread
You are talking like this thread is 20 pages long and not page and a half lol.

8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: March 30, 2024, 02:18:32 PM

The gambling companies such as casinos want to make money, if they are helping beginners not to get addicted, it will affect the business.  They may not do that.
The gambling companies will give that responsibility to someone else like the government or rehab support group to publish some advice to help beginners not to get addicted.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening to kucoin? on: March 29, 2024, 03:17:06 PM
I heard founders are hiding already. Not sure if it was true but just like what happened to CZ, they were called by DOJ also but the two just fled as they were also indicted with money laundering. It's a sure thing they are going to also pay for it and I guess they aren't complying.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on the market right now? on: March 29, 2024, 12:58:28 PM
The market doesn't seem to go up or down which is hard to assume where it will go from here since looking at the indicators, most of them even BTC are somewhat overbought already.

But if you have to buy, choose the one that has good updates already. FET does have updates recently where they are merging with other AI projects, though it's a positive update, I'm still skeptical. I would just keep my stablecoin still.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: March 28, 2024, 11:00:08 AM
Everyone gambles with his own money so win/ loss is entirely his personal responsibility. However, one of the reasons for keeping gambling a secret is that when someone goes public about gambling, if he falls into a financial crisis due to other reasons and needs to stay in an emergency but does not have enough money, then he will not get help from others at that time because they will think that he will gamble with the money. And in the eyes of the society he will be considered as a bad person. Gambling is a fun place though.  Yet society is not yet ready to accept gambling as a normal thing

Sounds like having fun is bad Cheesy But why should I care about society and their thoughts? If things goes differently and I win, would society consider me as a good person? Probably no. I think we instead should not keep gambling habit as secret, but be more open about it, so it would turn into something "modern, usual, normal". Otherwise we will never break "gambling-losing-addiction-bad" circle.

Some people care what others are thinking about them. Sometimes it's the only way to win, people judge a person without knowing them. People care what others say behind their backs.

Some people will not mind what other people think and it is also their way. But this only happens when a person reaches a certain maturity and has tons of resources that they don't need someone to like them.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: March 28, 2024, 10:40:18 AM
The truth is agriculture form the basic core of any economy yes it true that oil is a big money venture but agriculture play a great role in sterilizing the economy as it creat job opportunities and making food security possible in any economy

During war times, oil makes the country win a war. As for food, they still could trade with some other countries but no country today has no source of food. Even the desert produces some kind of grain already because technology is far developed.

Oil and Gas becomes the most important for the economy, especially in this industrial era. Your planes fly and your ships will sail, that's what oil can do.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upon the death of a bitcoin user. on: March 27, 2024, 02:48:06 PM
I have come to stay in this community and thought of one thing which has been bothering me.
Relating from our traditional banks where a bank customer dies and all his assets remains unclaimed by his relatives. I was once told that there was a bank manager who withdrew funds from there customer dormant accounts hopefully that the owners are dead as those account has been dormant for years without any form of activity on the account, it happens when no relative knows about the account for them to lay claims.
Similarly to bitcoin what happens in the event of my dismissal since no relative knows about my investment. It doesn't really make sense if my family can't enjoy my wealth. Will it be lost or is it good to entrust someone incase I'm no longer there?
To open a bank account the customer has to provide a nomine document and when the owner of the account dies then all the money in the account is given to the nomine. However, Bitcoin is completely dependent on the wallet key, in this case whoever has the wallet key will be able to control all the bitcoins in the wallet. so in this case if someone invests in bitcoins but doesn't give that bitcoin wallet key to his family then those bitcoins will stay like that for life and no one can use them. and then, despite their great value, they will remain valueless to family members

Maybe just hand the keys to your trusted family member or tell them to find the keys in your safe deposit box when you die. Thats it. I'm sure they know what keys or seed phrase looks like when they see one.

You just can't tell who will takeover your house when the tragedy comes, however. If your evil brother-in-law comes snatching the key to the safety box, then your kids are doomed.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: March 27, 2024, 01:55:09 PM
There it is, "he can't take Tszyu down", that's why he need to be smart and use his advantage. I think Tszyu is not so quick, so if Fundora will be able to figure out how to use his lenght, I won't be surprise that he'll get this win after the end of 12 round. The odds are very attractive, this is worth a shot IMO, just a small bet and we will be fine even if we lose.

I dont know why, but tall people always lose to a much smaller guys in coordination. If Tszyu is not so quick, then Fundora is even slower. That reach advantage can be turned into a disadvantage. With a combination of being tall, long reach leaves more open body. Even if Tims body punches does not do much damage, these accented punches works well for statistics and point in rounds. Dont forget, that got knocked down not only by a punch to a face, but a good punch to a liver also can finish fight early.

That could happen in favor of Tim Tszyu, but upon looking at the record of Fundora, he also had some impressive wins, and via KO. Here, he should maintain his distance as he can't afford to get hit in the body that might result to him losing the stamina if he'll not be KO in one punch. I don't know, but I have a feeling that Tim Tszyu will struggle a bit here as I have not seen him fight a tall boxer like Fundora. If he could follow Canelo's style then maybe he'll win as Canelo is so good when his opponent is very tall.

Fundora has to throw a solid combo or about 3 to 4 shots to get this done and make the big win. But the way to escape Tim is with better movement from a distance, if he can't do this then Tim will be able to hit him hard. Tall guys like him are too lanky to have a better balance in their footwork. He will eventually be cornered.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dana thought he lost $80k one night and his advice for gamblers on: March 25, 2024, 07:05:07 PM
These rich guys are not a model of people that other people should copy, in this case Dana White lost 3 million US dollars, but there is news from the past in which they say that he won 7 million dollars in a single night in a casino. las vegas and as they don't mention at all he has already made a lot of money from gambling, so in my opinion the guy is not making a loss by losing those 3 million dollars, he is probably making a profit just by playing. We also have to take into account the fact that he has a large fortune, so he must have many investments that give him a lot of profits every day. Let's imagine in this case where he lost 3 million dollars gambling, probably in a few days

or in a few weeks or a few months his business will generate a profit equal to or greater than 3 million dollars and in this way he recovers the money he lost in gambling. I have always said that for rich people who have many businesses that generate a lot of profits, they can play with millions of dollars in casinos and there is no problem because they will recover that amount of money in a short time thanks to the many businesses they have. . now when it is a case of a person who lives depending on his salary at the end of the month, when he loses money in gambling, that person does not recover that money

because the salary comes in the same amount every month, so the money in the person's bank account will not increase, the bills will increase, so the person has a greater chance of getting stress, depression, addiction and it will destroy his life. while for cases like Dana White's he won't be depressed because he lost 3 million dollars in a casino, he won't become addicted to a serious condition because the guy has a lot of money and a lot of things to do in life to the point that he has little time left for gambling. Happy and rich people can spend a lot of money on gambling and they won't have any problems in their lives.

He was asked by the host how much was his biggest win in gambling, Mr White said it was just $1M. Can't really believe what the bald man says.
He is the head of UFC, you can't expect him to just stop gambling while he losing money, he said he will return. If he won't let the 80k slide, he won't also let go of that $3M.

He is talking a lot of things in this interview but he is right about a gambler getting depressed after losing then gambling is not for him.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Becomes of Gambling if Sport book is taken away. on: March 25, 2024, 03:53:47 PM
Football is not the only sport that people bet on. The NBA fans will still be betting on which team and those Soccer fans will still be playing on casinos, these changes will only affect those football businesses and fans.

But you know football is not going away right?  Are you talking about that brain injury where the cause is the football concussions?
Football has already been part of the tradition for a long time, if there is a need for changes I guess only the rules not banning the sport.
17  Other / Off-topic / Re: Assisted Suicide on: March 24, 2024, 07:43:47 PM
There's this "mercy killing" or "euthanasia" that have been done for years. It's the same as this assisted suicide.

This is a sensitive topic and we don't know someone's situation if it's actually going to help them or not when they're in terrible situation and they want to end it because they can't take it anymore.  Undecided

It's all the same, they just rename it. Sarco machine though is just painless.
There are other ways like putting you to sleep and then injecting a dose to make the muscles relax and then stop the heart from pumping.

It's just insane that you need to pay in order to die. I would probably just jump from the 10th floor and enjoy the fall if I wanted to die. It's free. Its for the sick bedridden so its for them
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 190K in 2024? on: March 24, 2024, 05:53:58 PM
Is 190K too humble or very generous in your consideration? What's your price plans for selling your holdings?

It's too bullish but it could go to more than $100k as BTC adoption spreads wider. After halving also the TA guys are still predicting the market to still be very bullish in 2025. Its going to be a surprise for its not the regular cycle but if the price goes to $150k by 2025, I think you could consider selling already, I'm sure it's a big profit for anyone who has been holding for the duration of this bull market.

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If everyone is holding their bitcoin, will there be a balance? on: March 22, 2024, 07:22:14 PM
I have read several posts encouraging people to hold their bitcoin for the greater good of bitcoin and probably more reward in the future. I have also been able to buy some for myself and also holding. But there is this concern that usually pop up in my head anytime I am meditating and that is what will happen if everyone is holding their bitcoin and no one is willing to sell. This can possibly happen in the future when mining reward becomes too small. I know some people will say that miners will continue to mine and sell to sustain their business but when there is reduced selling, will mining still be a profitable business?

If this question appear dumb, please pardon me, I just need clarifications.

It might seem impossible for everyone to hold onto Bitcoin without selling it, because without sellers, buyers wouldn't have the chance to purchase Bitcoin. Without competition between those wanting to sell and those wanting to buy, there wouldn't be fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin, which typically increases with higher demand. If there are no sellers, the price of Bitcoin would likely stay the same. While Bitcoin was created with a limited supply, its purpose wasn't solely for holding onto it; rather, it was designed as an alternative to traditional fiat currency.

However, many people now view it as an asset and invest in it accordingly. Despite this, some individuals are willing to spend their Bitcoin when opportunities arise, suggesting that while holding onto Bitcoin is popular, it's not the only way people interact with the cryptocurrency.

The order book will be empty if this is the case. There will always be people taking profit otherwise the market will not grow.

But let's say it's really happening in BTC. The next thing that traders will bid is probably ETH and all other altcoins they speculate, we'd be moving to altcoins then and so I guess this is where altcoin season starts when all BTC holders speculate to sell at higher prices.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A weird interview on: March 21, 2024, 05:12:08 PM
I was recently interviewed on air. The interviewer described my answer to her question as weird. During the interview, something led to the other and I was asked thus;
The interviewer: If you are eventually imprisoned and denied access to internet and communication for 10 year, on regaining freedom what's the first thing you will do?
My answer: I will ask for a mobile phone or a laptop to check the Bitcoin price Grin
She exclaimed that it is weird that I love bitcoin that much. She proceeded to ask if I am sure bitcoin will still be around in 10yrs time and what value will it have.
My answer: Things change alot, 5 years is alot for many things to happen let alone 10 years. However, I believe bitcoin will be around and it might worth between 100k to 300k dollars.

be prepared core devs are already trying to remove legacy key functionality within core. which other wallet that follow core code usually then follow.. so if you disappeared for a decade, expect a headache trying to get wallets of the future from even understanding old key import methods

yep they have for last few years been preparing to remove legacy key import methods and pretend there will be a separate migration tool (eaier to just keep it in core.. but core devs dont care for whats best for users) but funnily enough although preparing to remove legacy key import from core, the irritating narcissist pushing to remove it has not actually built the "separate migration tool" he pretends would be the "promise of backward compatibility"

so be prepared if they are removing legacy soon, expect they will remove other things later..

Thats insane. The seed will be useless in that case. who the hell would allow importing methods to be removed?
So checking the Bitcoin price in prison will be useless. He sure would be hoping to have millions of money after 10 years in prison but finding out he can't import means he is penniless.

Its not weird to ask access to the internet to check the BTC price. Some of us just wake up in the middle of the night just to check BTC price.
