Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much will DeepOnion be worth?

If you will see the Roadmap for DeepOnion. Facebook and twitter campaign is not yet starting and the community is spreading the features and benefits of DeepOnion and how it will help to secure our privacy using this crypto.
I would predict that DeepOnion probably hit $5 - $10.
I was thinking along the same lines. It's already hit over $3, with only being on one exchange, the airdrop only being in its infancy, and without a huge social media push. There is certainly room above $5 for the right privacy-centric currency. I think DO is the right one. There will be the inevitable downward pressure of those who would rather dump for quick cash, but it seems to be holding up nicely even so. I look forward to the future with this community.

I'm still kinda hesitant to this coin because of the name hehe but I gotta try this. let us just hope for the best. No one really knows when or will be a coin go to boom. I agree to Zorky, most people just want free coins then they are done.
The name is really the least important aspect of any coin. Unless it's called something crazy and offensive, it doesn't really matter. People get used to things easily. Dogecoin did really well with one of the worst coin names I can think of. Well, there have been a lot of bad ones. "JockerCoin" leaps to mind. You'd think they'd spellcheck the name of their coin, haha. Or AndroidsToken. Or Coinye, lol. I still have a Coinye wallet backed up somewhere. But yeah, super positive community, unlike some I could mention. Once they hit a few more markets I think the screaming FUD will stop, (maybe), and the coin will really start to shine.

Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can you tell if you are suffering from gambling addiction?
|
on: August 21, 2017, 02:41:44 PM

My friend used to say "Gambling is a self-correcting condition".
What he meant was that when you lose you can't gamble any more. This obviously doesn't take into account people borrowing from questionable characters or 'payday loan' type setups, but again, thewse could be considered to be self-correcting. If you don't pay them back you get your legs broken, or worse.
Me, I only gamble what I can afford to lose, but I wasn't always this way. I guess the best way to tell if you have an addiction is if your life is negatively impacted by your urge to place wagers.
Never throw more money in trying to get even. You're already even.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Should i start to mining????
|
on: August 21, 2017, 02:35:15 PM

If you can find a newer coin with lower difficulty it might be worth mining, there are sites that automatically switch between coins depending on profitability. But the main guys, BTC, BTCC, ETH, ETC, etc you would need a lot more processing power than a couple of antminers are going to give you.
I was looking for USB miners on Amazon recently, and I noticed they're going for ~80 dollars a piece. I bought mine for 20 bucks, just because I wanted to play around with it, more than wanting to actually make any kind of profit. But if I sold now I'd make 400% my investment, which is way more than I could have gotten mining Doge, imo

19 days... ...Coins are not credited to the account on a repeatedly confirmed transaction and there is no response from support for reasons.
That sounds suspiciously like my experience with Cryptsy before Vern ran off to China with everyone's money. Anytime an exchange starts not responding to support tickets, or shutting down their trollbox to prevent the word spreading, is the time to get out if you can. I try not to keep anything at all on exchanges, I learned my lesson from Bitclockers and Mt Gox and Deepbit and Cryptsy and (maybe) BTC-e and (maybe) some other one. Fool me 3 times or more shame the fuck on me, right? But yeah, anyway. Keep your coins close, or risk them.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most amount of bitcoin you ever had?

I had 37. I can't even bring myself to do the math to see how much they'd be worth nowadays, but they were collectively worth a few hundred when I had em. I won a good amount playing poker, then I decided to gamble on SatoshiDice and go shopping on my favorite Internet Crypto Purveyor who shall remain nameless. I still have a Nintendo DS game that cost me 2 BTC.
I like Mario Bros, but not that much.

I've never heard of any of these. Are they reputable? How long have they been around? I think it would make a bit more sense to try and get GRC on Shapeshift, everyone knows them and there are plenty of currencies to switch between. And they really have some laughable coins on there. Maybe we should make some noise around the next time they are adding/removing coins. A bit more of a stable wallet would help, I know exchanges have a tough time with how often they have to update their wallets. But I'm always down to check out new crypto sites, I'll check these out, thanks sir!

I always loss in the games..lucky for those who won and hit the jackpot, I wish I could have that lucky day so I may able to hit the jackpot also. I mean a million equivalent to my currency of course. Powerball's at an estimated half a billion USD right now, with the drawing , (i believe), on Saturday. I think the pot odds are pretty good to buy a few tickets, see if I can't get a real jackpot for once. Normally I don't play the big games like these, but I just think about how much BTC I could buy with half a billion and my stomach turns all kind of funny and I'm sold, haha. I'll report back if I win. And maybe I'll make it rain

Well i said in my post that 0.007 BTC isn't big or a life changing amount, even 3.7 BTC isn't either. But the websites these days clearly use the word of jackpot so it technically is a jackpot, just not big enough.
Ah, I misunderstood, my fault. Yeah, sites these days throw around jackpot for everything. Maybe it shows how small their businesses actually are, or maybe it shows how much they're actually taking out of the potential prize pool. To me, Jackpot should be at least tens of thousands, if not much more. On a side note, one time I was at Foxwoods/MGM Grand casino with my then-girlfriend. We had a bad run that night, her playing slots and me playing poker. I had one quarter left, (this was back when slots still took quarters), and I put it in a random machine, pulled the lever...and lost. As this happened, over the loudspeaker a voice said "[REDACTED], you are the latest $1,000 winner in our summer hourly giveaway! Please go to a Service kiosk to claim your winnings!". And the name they said was mine. That made the night a little better. Still not a jackpot. But the timing couldn't have been better.

Winning 3.7 BTC is real jackpot maybe if we win this amount now we can buy what ever we want, and we can build any new business with this amount.
Maybe where you are. 3.7 wouldn't get me through half a year here.

I won 2.12 btc on Satoshidice back in the day. I took first in the Big BTC on Seals With Clubs back when Freemoney was still running it and BTC was worth like 20 bucks. That was like 27 BTC, and I got 10 more on the tables. And I hit a 500,000/1 shot on just-dice a couple years ago, at almost the exact same time the price of CLAM was decimated. None of these were quite the Jackpot, but pretty damn close. Now if I could just learn to hodl.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HBO is trying to get $250,000 in bitcoin to pay hackers who stole GoT scripts
|
on: August 12, 2017, 04:57:14 PM

Why would they want to be paid in bitcoin? That is somehow fishy.
It's how all these guys get paid nowadays. It's anonymous(ish), easily laundered, and will only go up in price. There's no benefit to trying to get a briefcase full of fiat from them, even if the bills are small and non-sequential. But send them some BTC, they convert to Ethereum or Dash and cash out. Boom. Or just sit on it. It's not like it's not going to be worth more eventually.

I've stated this elsewhere, but I really hope HBO doesn't pay.
Bad precedent. Both for IP holders and for BTC's optics. Everyone already sees Bitcoin as money for the criminal and sketchy, this certainly doesn't help. If BTC was easier for your average Joe on the street to purchase, it would help. People would be using it for everything, not just the currency of choice for paying ransoms. But we're not there yet.

I cashed out 37 BTC from SWC a few years ago, when they were super cheap. I then bought a bunch of stuff with them. A Nintendo DS game, couple other things I should have just bought with fiat. There isn't enough facepalm to show my feelings about this. Sometimes I lie awake at night thinking about it. Whiskey helps.
Also 2 years ago I won 5000 CLAM on just-dice. Unfortunately, again, I needed the money and cashed out.
Face, meet palm.

if you have enough btc on your address and are sending the right asset to the right address there should be no problem, ill say that i heard and by personal experience that the android wallet kinda sucks, it may be your case too. Just to be sure, you are sending A11025294652163217000 to 1doog or 1burn?
I'm not using the android wallet. Sending A110025294652163217000 to 1doog. I plug in the address and the amount, click 'send' and the window just goes away, and nothing happens.
