1161  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: so such a high stale rate? on: November 09, 2012, 05:39:55 AM
Code:
Shares: 254 total (20 orphaned, 10 dead) Efficiency: 103.6%

What's wrong this picture?  I'm at 11.8% stale, and I'm > 100% efficient.

I've done everything I can do to get the stale rate down, and I hover between 10% and 12%.

I've:

- changed AV to not scan bitcoin folder or p2pool folder
- changed cgminer to run on 1 thread, and 0 queue
- run p2pool on same box as bitcoin
- run p2pool on different box as bitcoin
- grab the newest version of p2pool every week or so.

I was around 5% before v8 came out.

What's going on here?  Is this considered normal now?

M

Can you please give your p2pool node address so we can check your stats.

ckolivas, currently, AVG 2012 Free Edition Antivirus saying that file:
libpdcurses.dll
contains a virus: PSW.KeyLogger.AVU http://www.avgthreatlabs.com/webthreats/info/psw.keylogger.avu/

Weird, isn't?

http://goo.gl/2wnwi

I've read it. It's all saying about cgminer.exe used with many malware, but not libpdcurses.dll.

Data like this might help?

http://p2pool.hopto.org:9332/peer_addresses
or
http://p2pool.hopto.org:9332/local_stats

Hi,
I am using p2pool under Linux. Can you please tell me, how to read number of connected incoming and outgoing peers connected to my p2pool node? I can see it in graph and table (in browser), but I woudlike to extract it to Linux terminal, to futher processing.
Thanks in advance.

/local_stats have it Smiley Thank you!

this implementation is suited for the big server,
tailored for some heavy lifting tasks
Details please?
What so "super" in this code that make it better from standard bitcoind?

Anyone running Ztex USB-FPGA on p2pool for long time? Can you please post your stats, efficiency, and stales (orphans/DOA)?

Transaction preforwarding Transactions that you're mining are sent to peers before you get a share, so any block solution you find can be broadcast virtually instantaneously. This could theoretically get our invalid block rate below any other pool's thanks to our large network of nodes.

Since closure of GLBSE I did not received any dividend from my shares. I filled up forms on GLBSE and I received confirming e-mails about my shares and amount of bitcoins in hold.
When I will receive dividends? gigavps, do you have shareholders records with their e-mail, BTC address, login and amount of shares?

Anyone knows about HD video recording which was taking place during conference? I found just one on GLBSE Blog, with Nefario. But what about others? There was couple of cameras out there, at least one camera-man was during ALL talks. Recording were published somewhere, maybe you guys know?

Dunno about HD, but there is some video here

Do you still not have those 400 BTC? I can retrieve them from the private key for a small fee of 15 BTC, which will be deducted from the ~400 sitting there. This seems to make much more financial sense to you; you'll have many more than 2.23 BTC once you send me the private key.

I got them with the help of a fellow user. Thanks for your help!

Sounds great. Now we are waiting for payments  Grin

I don't see why would an American conference compete with a European one, provided there's some leeway between them. Bitcoin businesses would probably send someone to each. Asia should join too.

+1

Would love to see a conference in China, or Hong Kong.

+1

Maybe we can create pool, to choose - at first - continent - where conference should be?
