21  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Store Batch 3 Status just went to "Refund Processing" - now "Completed" on: August 29, 2013, 01:56:41 PM
so all the refunds went out, aside from 2 orders which bugged out for whatever reason, and is looking into it now, those are 6997 and 6817.
22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Store Batch 3 Status just went to "Refund Processing" - now "Completed" on: August 29, 2013, 02:27:18 AM
Confirmed by block chain.   Refund already has one confirmation.  Phew... That is a relief..

completely my fault there. I would visit forum more to see problems, but the noise...
23  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon orders - batch #3 refund requests thread on: August 29, 2013, 02:24:20 AM
ok. this is pretty stupid of me, and completely my fault.

the system is designed to move cold storage to hot wallet -> then send out refunds.

but apparently the move failed and the script tried to send a bunch of refunds while the input contained no coins...

1000 coins have been moved and script resumed, I'm sure people should see refunds instantly and can vouch. and once I get back on location I can enable more coins to be moved and thus refund resumed.

again, I apologize for the long delay.

Damn dude.  This refund failure, combined with the lack of chips, has been doing an immense amount of damage to your brand.

yeah, shit happens. just gotta fix it and move on really.

Now lets see if Yifu actually issues any of those refunds, this is starting to sound like nefario to me.

He hasn't refunded Batch 3 customers yet, what makes anyone think he'll honour chips refunds?

?? I'm pretty sure batch 3 customers got their refunds.

Are you really that out of the loop that you don't know that batch 3 hasn't been refunded?? Wow.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242627.0

Huh, looking into this.

Yifu,
Could you consider every certain amount of chips bought you can give a few gen 2 chips for the inconvenience? Like buy 8 chips get 2 gen2 free...
This would help
^ this might wow customers and salvage some whom got screwed over and it could secure future customers.  At this rate nobody will order from Avalon again

sign into your sock puppet account and try again.

I hope a lot of people will ask for a refund, in that way, the group buys will receive their chips faster Wink
(as I suspect that refunds for group buys are not practically possible)

speak to the group buyer who is responsible for that.

So the "chips are stuck at customs" statement was a lie, he publicly stated a lie to all his investors.  Every judge in every jurisdiction loves that kind of stuff.
Double selling pre-ordered hardware + public lying to investors.
Hope to see you with pirateat40 behind bars.
WE DEMAND A CLEAR DEADLINE FOR REFUNDS, NO EMPTY PROMISES THIS TIME
LOL you coward suddenly you can make refunds, you are afraid of hard time in prison, that's it!

lol! you think if I got the skills to make ASICs don't you think I can run a scam better than this?
to be honest this isn't good for my chi/emotional well being and I'd like to wash my hands of it.

let's hope in the future not doing any pre-sells would solve all these problems.
28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 28, 2013, 10:42:35 PM
I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed.

Man, you've got quite some nerve for posting this. A full refund will not solve the issue. Please explain the 1+ million chips delivery that showed up in pictures from June? So, where did they end up?

batch 3? the amount was never 1+ million chips. if one 1+ million chips did show up in june, none of this would be happening and difficulty would NOT be this low, do some math.

also people seem to not make the connect to sudden raise of difficulty to us shipping batch 3 and bitfury's http://ghash.io pool coming online...

brb making refund form, I'm done with this.
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 28, 2013, 10:15:05 PM

My thinking is that if we keep calling him, leaving him voicemails and pressuring him to address the issues he will step up.

How long before he changes phone number?

spiccioli

that number stopped forwarding a while ago, since people are so hell bend on thinking we are selling chips to somebody in china first I'll address that.

there is a lot of people who bought chips purely for reselling, however the stock is 10k or so at most like all the other orders. I hope people did not think only people outside of china bought Avalon chips. ( out of the 800k chips, more than 50% are chinese orders.)

In addition, these resellers only have small quantity of chips ( since we didn't ship that many yet.) whether is alibaba or the chinese forums, I'd love to see anyone make a large purchase from these "resellers", because they simply do not have the chips, despise what they may advertise.

In other news, we are shipping as per usual like our last update and are doing the best we could but probably simply going to offer full refund soon, I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed.

at the moment of writing, another 130k chips have gone out, and will proceed to ship more as we get them. ( and no, they are not samples.)
31  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 09, 2013, 03:48:45 AM
From their website:

Quote
It all begin a few weeks ago when we received an email attached with a PDF containing the person information of some Avalon team members in China. Extortion, a familiar tactic when it comes to the Bitcoin scene and business in China. Threatened to release this information public if we do not pay up; we choose to ignore the demands because the information is quite outdated and some even are inaccurate, making this a low threat.

Everything changed when people started to knock on some team members parent's house looking for them using the information found on the PDF or other sources. This called for a immediate reevaluation of operational security of the Avalon project. This is the main source of delays and lack of communication in the past few weeks. This matter is still on going, but a majority of the Avalon operation has once again been resumed.

Just as this matter is reaching its closure. WSJ prints an mashed article consists of rumors, opinions and pieces of various stories. Avalon whilst under NDA(s) are unable to comment on all aspect of the story. We will however state the following: We were indeed in Amsterdam on Tuesday and had a meeting with TSMC and we will leave it at that for now.
We would also like to take this chance to properly restate that Avalon will from this day going forward will no longer be participating in any form of pre-order, pre-sale type of business operations.

lol if you gonna quote, at least quote the important part that matters, hint: there's another page.

You know how it is - you've been on a long plane flight - you've been drinking free booze all flight in first class - you get back in front of your computer you've not been near for weeks due to partying, whoring and boozing in Vegas, and it's like
"Hmm PMs and emails while I've been away ... oh well, guess I better say something before I pass out so I can ignore that crap for another week ..."
Wakes up the next morning ... oh crap I said "tomorrow" in the post ... oh well no one will notice anything different if I do nothing for a few days, they're used to that from me, and I am only a PR guy, not like I know anything about hardware or software and have control over anything except delaying deliveries ... ... ...

don't you got better things to do like writing code mr. software engineer than waste time with some first-class-riding booze-drinking "pr guy" like me?

anyhow, update is live on main page. http://avalon-asics.com

the "i'm not dead thread."

Just got off the plane, expect lots of news tomorrow.
34  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon Asic] trade-in Thread on: July 12, 2013, 04:13:11 AM
mmm, that's odd guys, I'm pretty sure rudrigorc and allinvain should have gotten emails, I remember sending about 50% of them before having to run off to another meeting earlier today.

care to check store / emails?

also yes, trade-ins are batch #2 prices, so $1600 at current exchange rate. I think the number used was 17.2-17.4ish
35  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Batch #3 & More on: July 12, 2013, 02:16:45 AM
all refunds are in full, in addition

you must obtain the invoice URL OR your return address must be one of the inputs.
36  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Batch #3 & More on: July 11, 2013, 09:39:59 PM
batch #3 order

odd, all batch #3 order was done through bitpay,

can you fill the form out with the bitcoin transaction ID from blockchain instead?
37  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Batch #3 & More on: July 11, 2013, 09:34:32 PM
Bitpay seems to be unaware of how to find a invoice URL. I am waiting on a response. If you did not recieve an invoice URL there may be a possibility that the coins went somewhere else?! Bitpay is stating they never received my BTC and they do not own the address.

are you trying to refund a batch #2 order?
38  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Batch 2 Avalon was rejected by german customs and returned back to China on: July 11, 2013, 07:42:27 PM
give us a different address, we have sent units to Germany many times without problems, but of course there is always a chance where custom do not believe this is just a engineering sample.

I see your ticket, just reply with new address and we'll try again.
39  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon SCAM? Listing of people scammed here on: July 08, 2013, 07:35:46 PM
I swear people don't even read, neotrix you never created a new ticket, I specifically asked you to do this in this thread if it was older than June.

I just dug through all this shit to find your ticket made in May which since then have been moved to a different system.

/facepalm

sigh; it's fixed.
40  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon SCAM? Listing of people scammed here on: July 08, 2013, 06:36:02 PM
there's always two side of the story,

here's the last ticket I supposely "closed"

http://puu.sh/3y0U3.png

#2329 is shipped and closed awhile ago, not to mention that ticket doesn't even make any sense.

just another anti-like google translated nightmare.

It never fail to amuse me when we send out ~600 units, and out of the few we have problem with, always complains the loudest, and everyone who did recieve them are busy mining and doesn't say shit.

best community ever.

If these people don't have their acts together by the time real adults bring machines and chips to market, both BFL and Avalon will fade to nothing more than punch lines of jokes.

we can't wait either, none of avalon team want this to be a business, especially b2c.
