ok. this is pretty stupid of me, and completely my fault.
the system is designed to move cold storage to hot wallet -> then send out refunds.
but apparently the move failed and the script tried to send a bunch of refunds while the input contained no coins...
1000 coins have been moved and script resumed, I'm sure people should see refunds instantly and can vouch. and once I get back on location I can enable more coins to be moved and thus refund resumed.
again, I apologize for the long delay.
Damn dude. This refund failure, combined with the lack of chips, has been doing an immense amount of damage to your brand. yeah, shit happens. just gotta fix it and move on really. |

I hope a lot of people will ask for a refund, in that way, the group buys will receive their chips faster  (as I suspect that refunds for group buys are not practically possible) speak to the group buyer who is responsible for that. So the "chips are stuck at customs" statement was a lie, he publicly stated a lie to all his investors. Every judge in every jurisdiction loves that kind of stuff.
Double selling pre-ordered hardware + public lying to investors.

Man, you've got quite some nerve for posting this. A full refund will not solve the issue. Please explain the 1+ million chips delivery that showed up in pictures from June? So, where did they end up? batch 3? the amount was never 1+ million chips. if one 1+ million chips did show up in june, none of this would be happening and difficulty would NOT be this low, do some math. also people seem to not make the connect to sudden raise of difficulty to us shipping batch 3 and bitfury's http://ghash.io pool coming online... brb making refund form, I'm done with this. |

My thinking is that if we keep calling him, leaving him voicemails and pressuring him to address the issues he will step up.
How long before he changes phone number? spiccioli that number stopped forwarding a while ago, since people are so hell bend on thinking we are selling chips to somebody in china first I'll address that. there is a lot of people who bought chips purely for reselling, however the stock is 10k or so at most like all the other orders. I hope people did not think only people outside of china bought Avalon chips. ( out of the 800k chips, more than 50% are chinese orders.) In addition, these resellers only have small quantity of chips ( since we didn't ship that many yet.) whether is alibaba or the chinese forums, I'd love to see anyone make a large purchase from these "resellers", because they simply do not have the chips, despise what they may advertise. In other news, we are shipping as per usual like our last update and are doing the best we could but probably simply going to offer full refund soon, I am tired of this toxic community malformed by greed. |

From their website: It all begin a few weeks ago when we received an email attached with a PDF containing the person information of some Avalon team members in China. Extortion, a familiar tactic when it comes to the Bitcoin scene and business in China. Threatened to release this information public if we do not pay up; we choose to ignore the demands because the information is quite outdated and some even are inaccurate, making this a low threat.
Everything changed when people started to knock on some team members parent's house looking for them using the information found on the PDF or other sources. This called for a immediate reevaluation of operational security of the Avalon project. This is the main source of delays and lack of communication in the past few weeks. This matter is still on going, but a majority of the Avalon operation has once again been resumed.
Just as this matter is reaching its closure. WSJ prints an mashed article consists of rumors, opinions and pieces of various stories. Avalon whilst under NDA(s) are unable to comment on all aspect of the story. We will however state the following: We were indeed in Amsterdam on Tuesday and had a meeting with TSMC and we will leave it at that for now.
We would also like to take this chance to properly restate that Avalon will from this day going forward will no longer be participating in any form of pre-order, pre-sale type of business operations. lol if you gonna quote, at least quote the important part that matters, hint: there's another page. |

Bitpay seems to be unaware of how to find a invoice URL. I am waiting on a response. If you did not recieve an invoice URL there may be a possibility that the coins went somewhere else?! Bitpay is stating they never received my BTC and they do not own the address.

It never fail to amuse me when we send out ~600 units, and out of the few we have problem with, always complains the loudest, and everyone who did recieve them are busy mining and doesn't say shit. best community ever. If these people don't have their acts together by the time real adults bring machines and chips to market, both BFL and Avalon will fade to nothing more than punch lines of jokes. we can't wait either, none of avalon team want this to be a business, especially b2c. |
