1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are People Losing Interest with Bitcoin? on: October 22, 2019, 06:42:31 PM
For me it's clear people are losing interest for Bitcoin. First because they are disappointed by its price evolution: adopters (especially the small ones) expected to see their investment growing, and that is not happening, on the best of possible scenarios their money value is just stagnant.

Second that Bitcoin is still mainly used as store of value and not "real money". The virtual currency attends a small internet niche yet, and that is a big problem for its adoption among more people who don't belong to this select group of informatic enthusiasts and market speculators.

Third that some disappointment comes from the fact adopters are being scammed and deceived by other Bitcoin enthusiasts, what is very common when trying to find jobs, tasks and investments related to Crypto Currency on Google and Youtube.

Furthermore, the lack of opportunities make Bitcoin uninteresting for people nowadays.

Do you agree?

Because you are not login more that 30 days.
I think it's not the right thing to do. Some members don't use the site often, but share the ref link to earn comission over referrals earnings. Then this person is promoting the site, but won't be able to collect the comission?

I had similar experience with another famous faucet before, and it was very frustrating, even because I put money on that, but that is another story...

10  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: January 14, 2019, 01:12:09 AM
The trust system is constantly abused for political as well as likely organized criminal purposes. It provides cover for these people to abuse honest contributing members of the forum with impunity. The question is not if they help, it is at what cost? The cost is consistently driving away MANY new users who simply didn't understand the unwritten mob rules enforced here. The thief simply spends a few bucks on a new account and is back in minutes. Legitimate users burned this way don't come back, perpetually putting us in a feedback loop of driving away the decent user base while providing cover for the cons.

Blindly following the trust is a HUGE issue. There is no way to even know if the same person is truly in control of the account any more at the end of the day, and purporting otherwise is disingenuous and only harms the people it was designed to protect most, the newer users. It is at its best little more than a notification system for people to warn others of suspect behavior, and at worst a system of protecting organized crime and mobbing cliques.

"The only people you see complain are mostly the ones that have actually been caught with doing something bad.."

That sounds like something dirty cops say when some one tries to get the cop to follow the law too... the rules are for thee and not for me.

Could you give me a few examples?

There are rules set for this forum, as well as guidelines. If they are not followed and a new member gets negative trust for something that was against that, is it not deserved? I'm not really sure that it affects as many people as you paint it out to be.

I'd also like to request an example of organized crime that is being protected by the current trust system as that sounds like a conspiracy theory at best.

Do you want an example? Read this if you have some spare time and patience: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3203842.msg33253868#msg33253868

Curiously it was just ignored.
11  Other / Meta / Re: Can we regulate the trust system ? on: December 29, 2018, 04:47:35 PM
These threads become worthless too fast with a lot of posts trying to change the focus of the conversation.

Better to make a document with valid points justifying the need for changes, with suggestions about what can be done, with the signature of unsatisfied people and forward to the forum's owner.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Do You Expect From The Market in 2019? on: December 27, 2018, 10:53:53 PM
I expect two scenarios. The good one is the recovery phase, so BTC can start rising again, but slowly, gaining support from new investors that were fearing to invest because the currency could be dead, as many people told.

The bad scenario would be the continuation of this one. So BTC price would keep falling with little intervals of pumps until it reaches to an unknown, but low value that will decrease enthusiasts hope even more.
13  Other / Meta / Re: Can we regulate the trust system ? on: December 26, 2018, 06:10:46 PM
I will simply say if we can create the system  that DT feedback will be applicable only if it supported by 2 other DTs.

In this case at least we can stop/minimize the abuse in which people are tagged for saying "lemon".  I guess 3 people will not be having hatred for lemon simultaneously.

Same goes  for +ve feedback too, where people get +ve for doing a $10-20 trade, at least  you need to be trusted by at least by 3 people to get the +ve rating.

Since many of the DTs are inactive, we need to expand this network but at same time it need to be make sure that a single DT rating should not impact an individual.

This would give even more power to this DT structure.

Maybe, but if a DT feedback's pattern becomes too evident (like several dubious rates applied by a same DT minor group), it will be easier to spot who is acting in cartel, the exposure is higher than supporting partner DT's feedbacks only with words. Higher exposure is good, because it's harder to be omitted and trivialized.

Anyway, even with high exposure, if no one complains and express their opinion, nothing will be done and the abuses will continue.

It's not a definitive solution, but an improvement...
14  Other / Meta / Re: Can we regulate the trust system ? on: December 25, 2018, 11:22:51 PM
The system isn't the problem. It could work perfectly if unfair, bizarre or inconsistent feedbacks were nulled by the judgement of another DT members, it's possible in the currently system.

Or a little change would be useful too, for an example: to make a feedback valid, more than one DT member must sign it.
15  Other / Meta / Re: DT trust ABUSE by people here. Needs attention at once before goes out of hand on: December 22, 2018, 10:58:47 PM
I think it's very clear the problem isn't people spamming the forum with default simplistic opinions, but people earning money. And it's really easy to see this, otherwise the called spammers would be just silenced by the bothered members on their personal profiles, without major troubles and complaints.

However, without this issue there wouldn't be a reason for this elite to exist, they would be just "random people" (like they like to say) among other random people. So they created the issue, to sell the solution, getting rid of the concurrency smartly and creating a new status for themselves, also defining what are good posts, what aren't, who deserves to be mocked and who deserves to be praised.

On the other hand, the plans of spreading red paint everywhere without limits weren't looked favorably and they had to retreat (even though more than one attempt was cogitated). But the concurrency should still be eliminated somehow, and then, suddenly accounts negotiations were criminalized by those who were acknowledged with this practice before.

Actually, the rules are applied in a personal manner and doesn't have the same weight for everyone, creating an environment of instability and dubiousness.

And after merit system implementation the elite just became more aggressive to earn points fast and to show how superior they are from the randoms, although it has also a positive point, that is the exposure of the VIP club "exchanging cards" among themselves, as it was already showed.

The part that people can be negatived for almost any reason is completely surreal, and even worse is the connivance or indifference, omission of DT members towards these surreal situations, just to avoid a conflict with DT partners. So, the conclusion is that those who should watch over justice for all, doesn't matter who you are, don't care about anything else than keeping a good relationship with those who are equally powerful or more powerful (to prevent retaliation).

Those who could make the difference don't put themselves on someone's shoes. They don't consider the same can happen to them, maybe not in this forum, but in somewhere else in life sooner or later.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2019 on: December 22, 2018, 09:41:31 PM
After a hard year I believe things may become better, but not so fast like the pump we had in 2017.

2019 can be a good year to start rebuilding the structures slowly and solid. So the market can gain confidence again from big investors, which have enough power to raise BTC's price and many other AltCoins. The important is that the price keeps moving up.
17  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can i delete my negative trust? or BUY ? on: December 16, 2018, 01:55:07 PM
Money talks. If you deal with the right people with the correct amount of money, yes, you can be forgiven or even farm your reputation.

The point is: Does it worth to become part of this circle? Does it worth to feed the monster?
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC To raise before SEC decision or after? on: December 13, 2018, 02:26:23 PM
in any case i do expect rises in 2019 so we may see a rise with or without ETF by February anyways and it doesn't have to be "insider trading" either. we will have had more than a year of drop, how much longer can this last!

Based on what do you expect a rise with or without ETF in 2019, for an example?

I think there should be an extra element to lead BTC to a new rise, something that we lack right now, without any predictions of having it soon...
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now the time to buy ALTs? on: December 07, 2018, 01:24:08 AM
Bitcoin SV is showing great results while the entire market is red.
Maybe there is still time to enjoy this new hype and make some fast profit with this AltCoin.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin even work in our current system? on: December 06, 2018, 11:34:55 PM
Consumerism is good, it makes the economy gears work fine. On the other hand it has some disadvantages: like people who don't know limits borrowing money, creating a rising debt, possible to bankrupt. And there is a bad kind of consumerism too, the low quality one, like when people satisfy themselves with low quality goods and even pay a disproportional amount of money for it. Then it leads to a low quality industry producing garbage.

About Bitcoin, consumerism doesn't need to change because of it. Bitcoin would just replace fiat. You could borrow BTCs, you could buy anything you want and a lot, if you have enough Bitcoins...

Decreasing consumerism would lead to decreasing the demand, weaking the economies and Bitcoin. Goods' prices wouldn't decrease, only Bitcoin price would. So you would need more BTCs to buy stuff for you.
