Whenever bitcoin price goes up it is for sure that it will affect altcoin in opposite way. What it means is altcoin will loose value dramatically because they become more costly to buy and you will loose profit in the process. So you better sell them immediately when the bitcoin jumps too high. Also, make a note that bitcoin may not remain that high for long. So you may wait.

Am I guessing you suggesting CPU mining ? But it is still power consuming. And if you want to mine from these CPU miners with full power them you always have to leave your computer idle for several hours with power source on. May be that is not feasible as it looks.

Indeed. I have just started with trading of bitcoins and I achieved what I haven't since last two years from my very own hard work from 9 am to 6 pm. Dam wanna take bitcoin home someday for that. 

You can try coinbase or mycelium. They are wallets I know but they always pop up with price alerts each 2-5 minutes. So it is nice to use them.

You can just Google it. They have all the currency conversion available.

I check for USD first and then compare equivalent bitcoins in terms of my local currency against USD. Gives more exact result.

I'm reading and reading all the replies here but my question is whether CPU mining is still profitable these days? I have read on the same forum CPU no longer can get you into bitcoin mining as it use to do back in 2009-10 period. The difficulty level is too high and though free electricity is there how it can be profitable as long as no blocks are resolved. The CPU power is too low i guess.

Direct investment into such sites is always dangerous and you must seek advice of experts first. If no expert's advice are available then you can do detailed research on the subject next first and then take out the blueprint of business first. That's the initial stage in any investment.

I think xapo is right at their own place because they also have to do the business and maintain their position in the living market. Today the bitcoin is getting heavier in its value and miners are slowing down. This is leading to longer confirmation timings and fees ultimately getting intolerant. Xapo might be needing to cover these charges so that's their loss. If they keep doing that then they may end up with out of business situation.
