2601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: October 28, 2013, 10:50:55 PM
I'm happy to report that the first distributed Mastercoin to Bitcoin transaction using the Mastercoin protocol has been done.

I sold 10 test Mastercoin to myself for the sum of 0.0001 Bitcoins. Let me explain how this works.

I added recent distributed transactions to the order book page on mastercoin-explorer.

I achieved all this using the mastercoin-explorer website and Bitcoind, if anybody knows how to deal with the Bitcoin-qt/d console and wants to try this let me know.

As always this is just my implementation of the rules set out by the official spec, this won't be set in stone until the other developers come up with their own implementations and they come to the same conclusion as my libraries. This is quite a difficult Mastercoin message so I expect things to change around a little before everything is final.

We are getting closer  Cheesy

Congrats ! The beginning of a new era... I'm proud to be a witness of that !
You (and any other dev) will deserve the bounty Smiley
2602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin did reach ATH in October on: October 27, 2013, 01:38:05 PM
April might have been higher measured in dollars... But we all know that the dollar is useless as a tool for comparison since it fluctuates like crazy with announcements of infinite printing of more dollars and lack of announcements of infinite printing of dollars. But if you use gold as a comparison Bitcoin did actually reach ATH in October:

With log scale:

...but you're till comparing against gold priced in USD.

BTC/USD*USD/g of gold = BTC/g of gold.

No USD here.  It falls out.
I know. So if g of gold is worth 1M$ USD, BTC/g of gold will drop, do you see my point ?

BUY BUY BUY (BTC & NeoBee shares):

Investigations Into Launching Our Own Regulated Securities Exchange
We have spent time investigating the legal requirements and viability of establishing our own regulated securities exchange (CySEC), we have decided that this is something that we will now pursue further down the line once Neo & Bee has achieved sustainable growth as this is our highest priority. This is a viable business that can be open to US investors once certain barriers have been removed (JOBS act), certain barriers would still exist for US based investors but we would address them closer to the time.
[..]
We will utilize our accounts with MPESA (we are currently finalizing the account opening process) to enable us to process international remittance payments to and from those who are connected to the MPESA network.

Absolutely non related.

klee aka "the whore" who cannot stop doing propaganda for his assets he owns (neobee, mastercoin).
2608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: October 25, 2013, 08:02:52 PM
I also think there's a degree of responsibility on the part of those behind Mastercoin's funding initiative
Are you out of your mind?!!! WTF?  Did you blame your mother for your ugly red hair too?

Dude, over 1000 people got it.  The instructions weren't complex.  Only a moron could expect JR to prepare a full 8 page description of how dumb you are.  It's like Jack-in-the-box after the McDonalds coffee incident.  They now write on coffee cups: "Hot coffee is hot".  Is that what you need?  A warning like that?

JR said clearly don't use web wallets.  Now you come here a bitch that you got 'misled'.  JR - why didn't you write a moron clause which excludes them from participation?  Holy crap.  This guy will blame the moon when can't get his finger out of his butt.

Stop bitchin'  You F-ed up your deal and its finished.  Move on and do it right next time.

I think something ought to be done for people in my position.
How about cyanide?  That should do it.

TomHirsch, could you please stop beeing so rude.

TomHirsch, under new account (guess why) HammerFirst, is a lamer who almost screwed the project from the start (check TomHirst past posts). Ignore it if you can.

imo my understanding he can pull the plug on MSC at will!   Cool

Yes, with the recent breakthroughs by the dev (with Class B & C transactions (see it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265488.msg3408731#msg3408731) and the "approval" by the bitcoin core dev leader Gavin, the project mastercoin discards a great threat that was hanging over it.
2610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: October 25, 2013, 11:54:36 AM
Basically it gives us an other way to encode Mastercoin data into the blockchain.

J.R.'s original approach was hiding the data in an Bitcoin address. The big downside to this method is that these addresses can never be spend since no private key exists. When using this method you are basically polluting the blockchain with data that can never be removed. (We call these transactions Class A)

The next solution we came up with was using multi-sig transactions. By supplying an public key that can be used when you want to spend the output we can now make sure every output we create is spendable. This stops the pollution problem. (We call these transactions Class B)

What I understand from OP_RETURN is that you can basically add 80bytes of arbitrary data to each transaction. This would give us a perfect way to encode our data in the most harmless way since these outputs are 'Provably Prune-able' and can safely be ignored when parsing the blockchain. (These transactions will most likely be Class C transactions)

I hope this explains it. If anybody spots an error let me know.

Thanks for these explanations (finally I understand something here Cheesy)

Does it affects the transactions already been done (compatibility) ? Will we need a new way/tool to create MSC transactions ?

Hi all,

I just wanted to update you guys with the summary of the first board meeting of the Mastercoin Foundation.

Cheers,
Ron

Awesome, love the insight. Agenda and the decisions don't match up though, kinda hard to match them right now.

The Agenda is a partial list of the stuff we brought into the discussion (not everybody prepared it on the doc, and some things arose mid-discussion).

I'll help with the matching:

Agenda:
1. We decided that the meetings are public.
2. We haven't decided on that, waiting to hear a marketing plan from Social Circle.
3. No actions items here, I just updated updated the board about our blog. We do also plan to review our Twitter & Facebook channels (David opened these a while back), I hope in the next few days.
4.  Regarding Roadmap - Willett is currently managing the project, and doing a great job at it. I suggested we pour some content to our Trello and think about the long term direction, but Willett is just too occupied to do it right now, and I don't believe it's productive to "try and twist his arm about it". We might formulate a roadmap in the future, but right now the focus as I see it is on completing features, not long-term planning.
5. It was decided that bounties are paid in whatever currency the developers/bounty collectors wish.
6. I updated the board briefly about the Nxt alt currency - no action items here.

Hope that helps.
Ron

Thanks for the update. I'm following this closely.

It's getting toward the end of October, is the plan still to begin shipping Trezors this month?
Any news ? I don't expect to have them right now, but any information will be fine.
