When I started gambling a few years ago, I won a pretty big amount of money and that opened new doors for me to pursue new business ventures. Some of these ideas panned out and some flopped miserably, but I still managed to generate some money from the the ventures that were successful. I now have something that can generate some "passive" income and something that needs a lot of my time and attention, but overall it improved my quality of living and it encouraged me to follow my dreams. I still gamble, but not as much as I did before... because time management has become an issue. This will not secure my retirement, but it gives me some freedom to experiment with more ideas. (I still need to work between 8 to 10 hours per day.... and weekends, but I have something to fall back on, if something bad happens) Hope your big wins, did not just go back into the casinos.  Your experience seems like you got a very big win from gambling that could change your life to where you are today, unfortunately I never got a big win that could make me change my life for the better or could be used to open a new business. On paper, it's very easy to say — "when people are fearful, buy as much as possible and sell when people are euphoric". It's only easy to say. In practice, it's actually harder to execute. For one, you might actually have an active trade prior to market going down and then you have to suffer your losses. You won't be able to "buy the dips" in that state of mind, I can assure you of that. I have experimented it for a while now with the recent experience being that Bitcoin drop from ATH to $53K and altcoins -80% correction. Not very easy except you have plenty of capital to DCA on the dips. Thinking don't buy as much as possible it might be painful if the harvest continues and I also feel that way, yes still make purchases even if not much, indeed it is very easy to say and difficult to do I don't deny that, but if you think better and your mentality has been formed that kind of thing is not a difficult thing to do if you are used to it. Basically I look at the whales who accumulate on dips, follow their way even though we use small money but it will have a very good impact if we do it often enough and our investor mentality will be formed. |

I've been a long time lurker here but really thought I should setup a login. I've held bitcoin since 2016 just after the halving. I'm hoping we have some exciting times ahead. I managed to use the last halving to accumulate a bit and I've hodled ever since.
I think the end of 2024 will be interesting time, and will hopefully cement some good profits for us all.
I do have a plan for my bitcoin and it's looking like the next bull cycle ath may be my exit from the space. Although having said that I would like to keep a some btc.
For the future of bitcoin I hope the space becomes more resilient and we see less issues like Mt Gox etc. I also hope to see more people adopting bitcoin but for the moment a lot of people just don't understand it.

Spain are going for their 4th Euro championship while England are trying to get their 1st one. My thinking is still the same, even if we see extra time or penalties I believe in Spain to be victorious. I'm always beside the side that deserves the most - unless there is my national team in the finale.  Spain don't refrain from playing dirty by the way. For example Carvajal didn't hesitate even for once despite knowing he would probably get a red card in the Germany match. I expect them to do everything they can to secure the title.  Spain will definitely get another victory, judging by the matches so far in the Euro it really makes us think that Spain is much better than any team, because their game is consistent and their performance cannot be doubted. So England are sometimes irregular in their play, and we know that Southgate is much doubted, I can't wait to see Southgate with the strategy that will be built against Spain tonight in the final match, if England manages to get a victory it will be very much better and it will make a history for England itself. |

Op, welcome back! I hope your account recovery will be successful. As for Bitcoin, I don't think it's ever too late to return to it. As you can see, the price grew significantly over the years, and so did recognition of Bitcoin around the world. The fees are an issue occasionally, but there are also periods when they are very reasonable.
I'm still feeling good about Bitcoin, although I believe that our expectations should not be the way they were 7 or more years ago. Bitcoin can't grow 20x or 10x in one bull run anymore. But maybe it can grow 10x over a decade, we'll see. Right now, we're either still getting close to the bull run, or a very mild bull run is already behind us and there's a bear market ahead. It's hard to say in advance, but it will be clear in hindsight.

Yes although I would also like PSG to do much better, and Luis Enrique to give PSG another trophy, but if they lose it's not bad for the league, but maybe LUis will risk his career if this season doesn't get a win in the domestic league, especially if they don't qualify for the champions league it will end badly, but that's unlikely, I think at least Enrique will compete very well despite not having star players in their squad anymore. |
