441  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama Wants $67,912 for Every Illegal Alien Minor on: July 14, 2014, 11:03:36 AM
So we create a crisis and then demand money to resolve it? How dumb do they think we are?

How many days are we down to until the next president takes office? Prince O is by far the worst president we have ever had.

the worst? i don't think so.. but he's horrible. the guy before him was the one who cut taxes and then sent trillions of dollars to iraq and pakistan.

3.7 billion for immigrants.. wtf is obama thinking? i don't even get what his angle is here.

I doubt there are more than 10 people who would support what Bush did in hindsight, but even after finding out what the ISI did and their harboring for Osama, Obama continued to dish out even more money.  He couldn't even give Karzai a good backhand.  What good is a puppet if the puppet wont listen?

Face it Obama's foreign policy is worse than his domestic policy, and he's at 40% approval on the domestic front.  Not looking good for the messiah.
442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Six US Presidents Have Destroyed Iraq on: July 14, 2014, 10:56:43 AM
By the logic stated in the OP Stalin was quite a successful leader.

Nevertheless, when Germany invaded Soviet Union, people went to battle under slogans "For Motherland. For Stalin."

I would be the first to condemn what Stalin did to Soviet Union and to Russia, but still any external intervention will only lead to more suffering and turmoil. Such problems must be resolved by a nation from within.

Yes, this is true.  Iraq left itself susceptible to outside manipulation and the US capitalized on that.  Clearly the US did not do it for Iraq in some altruistic manner. The US was fighting a idealistic war with USSR (or so we are told).  Iraq choose to side with the US.

Now look to the regions that were previous Soviet block like Ukraine - they're doing just great today Tongue

Damned if you do, damned if you don't

Nice post Slingshot.  The problem is 1/2 way through listening to that post (since most of the idiots keeping banks in power are illiterate) most people would just go back to playing CoD or watching Game Of Thrones.  I kind of wish we had a civil war for ignorance is bliss vs reality.
444  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Six US Presidents Have Destroyed Iraq on: July 14, 2014, 10:38:16 AM
You can harp on what the US has done over the past 20 years (since the first Iraq invasion) but Saddam was no friend of the people (at least not most Iraqi).  Establishing peace and some prosperity for the sake of saying you have it while mass murdering millions of others that you deem unfit just not make a country.  By the logic stated in the OP Stalin was quite a successful leader.
445  Other / Politics & Society / Re: First Lady of Guatemala on Recent Immigration to US Ordeal on: July 14, 2014, 10:34:28 AM
An economy with a welfare state can't afford to import low productive worker...

They could make laws that would make it harder for new immigrants to obtain welfare. Such as giving out a lower form of citizenship for the first 5 years. A green card of sorts.

You don't know how politics works in the US.  You have to promise more to them, not promise less.

Over-promising, that's what got Obama elected.  That man had lovely posters and music and made it seem like unicorns and pots of gold at the end of the rainbow were real.

Republicans are losing because they're not over-promising (for the most part). They may be bat looney, but they're not doing what it takes to win.
446  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: July 14, 2014, 10:30:30 AM
Today i write them on email to refund me

i hope they will

You should also apply to the Class action Lawsuit.  Every piece of evidence provided helps ensure that BFL will be punished for their illegal and unethical behavior.
447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin faucet as a form of punishment on: July 14, 2014, 10:28:08 AM
I don't use faucets that pay only tiny amounts but there are some decent ones where you supposedly have a shot, although small, of getting a bigger payout. Those are worth it just for the thrill. Not for the bitcoin though. You're better off working or trying a sig campaign.

Signature campaigns are for minimal play amounts of BTC.  With the exception of Hero and senior members, most people make more working than they do posting.  This may not be true in 3rd world countries where BTC is worth significantly more.
448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GPU Mining. on: July 14, 2014, 10:25:21 AM
I think it's just like CPUs. CPUs used to be profitable, now it would be a total joke to try to mine with a CPU. I think gpus are headed that way, if not already there. It could be fun to tinker for a bit with it to get your feet wet with mining though. I did it for a while but then it wasn't worth it.

Pretty much so, unless there will be a hugely successful ASIC-resistant coin.

The problem is if a coin becomes successful somebody will want to develop a specific machine just for it.  If BTC stayed at $0.10 there would be no ASICs for it. People wouldn't even bother with GPUs for it.  The ASICs follow the money trail.
This is probably true, however people were GPU mining long before BTC was worth even a penny, the may have not been investing thousands of dollars in bitcoin but they were using GPUs to mine.

That is incorrect. Artforz is considered to first person to be secretly mining massive amounts of BTC on his GPUs and at that time BTC was over $0.01.  The spike in mining in March 2011 is from the GPU explosion that Satoshi tried to hold back as long as possible.
449  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet Safety Help on: July 14, 2014, 10:16:49 AM
Please check out the alternative client section of the forum. Wallets like Armory and Mycellium offer the same or increased level of security and they have step by step guides for new users.  You don't want to make a wallet retrieval so difficult than should an emergency strike you would not be able to recover your funds easily.

In Los Angeles right now... July is brutal. Dog days. But I'll tell you, as brutal as the heat is, I do love watching all them girls in the sundresses walk by this time of year. Grin

Just be careful with your wandering eyes around Hollywood.  Some of those girls.....well, let's just say you may be shocked it the dress were to blow up Marlyn Monroe style  Shocked
452  Other / Off-topic / Re: Invest in silver or not? on: July 14, 2014, 09:49:45 AM
Silver is cheaper and undervalued, and you can easily make art using silver, I think. Plus you may have some silver bullets or silver weaponst  to protect yourself against werewolfs.

Ssshhh.  You'll give away the reason for the next rise!

Seriously though, those silver rounds tend to jam up more often than I like.
453  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you own a firearm? on: July 14, 2014, 09:42:26 AM
I won't disclose what I have or how many, but let's just say if somebody tries to break in at night I'll be the one sipping coffee in the morning.

I never supported gun users until I heard the guns and religion quote (and I'm not religious) - that's when I knew it was time.
454  Other / Off-topic / Re: what if the 1% succeeded on: July 14, 2014, 09:39:11 AM
1% only have strength when the military follows their orders, and military is not typically composed of 1%ers.  When the shit hits the fan (or rather IF), then it would be robot vs military.  Hmm, T2.
455  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ban the person above you (jokingly). on: July 14, 2014, 09:36:37 AM
Banned for banning another person.

Banned for making insipid excuses.

Banned for using SAT words.  Who says insipid other than in the movies Tongue
456  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you know that most girls are Bi? on: July 14, 2014, 09:35:02 AM
Fun fact - most facts and not facts, instead they are some random afterthought from a 15 year old boy.
457  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterfly Labs: What Goes Around Comes Around! on: July 14, 2014, 09:32:48 AM
What a difference a year makes....oh wait maybe not.  Same crap, different year.

It's disgusting how companies like this continue to operate.  I guess America is so filled with bureaucratic crap nowadays nothing gets done.

We made fun of Avalon getting chased by the triad in China last year but if BFL was in China the place would have had an RPG go through those doors a long time ago.
458  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: July 14, 2014, 09:27:51 AM
HURRAYYYY
so they're not taking holiday  Cheesy

hope most of the miners has the 478GH/s

All devices will ship with default speed of 441.
If our duty to over clock to 478 at risk of burning dc-dc component.

who will OC then?? i dont think i will if they are going to burn out for just 37GH/s more  Huh Huh Grin

Some people will be tempted to overclock for just the first difficulty cycle hoping it doesn't die during that time since thats when they'll get the most bang for the buck.  Problem happens if it dies then you pretty much took the whole thing as a loss.
459  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So.. Chase shutdown my College Checking account on: July 12, 2014, 04:39:01 AM
Personal account isn't suppose to be used for business purpose.

As long as it's designated as an owner draw and balances out your CPA and IRS don't care.
460  Other / Politics & Society / Re: THE OIL AND GAS BUBBLE IS ABOUT TO POP!!! on: July 12, 2014, 04:34:51 AM
There is enough oil and gas supply for another 200 years. That is enough time to develop alternative energy sources. The giant oil and gas companies is monopolizing the price and hidden the real volume of the oil reserves. They even lobbying the congress not to develop fusion technologies and they also stopping the thorium nuclear research.

Congress has stopped pretty much all nuclear initiative since the mid 1970s.

Even though there may be plenty of oil and gas for a century, the supplies that area easily accessible are dwindling.  Deeper and deeper drilling techniques will be need as well as trench drilling.  That's going to drive the cost up.
