HURRAYYYY
so they're not taking holiday  Cheesy

hope most of the miners has the 478GH/s

All devices will ship with default speed of 441.
If our duty to over clock to 478 at risk of burning dc-dc component.

who will OC then?? i dont think i will if they are going to burn out for just 37GH/s more  Huh Huh Grin

Excellent update from Bitmain.  On a side note, BA, please take note on how a proper company runs their business.

Cant wait to see price for B4.

Some people will be tempted to overclock for just the first difficulty cycle hoping it doesn't die during that time since thats when they'll get the most bang for the buck.  Problem happens if it dies then you pretty much took the whole thing as a loss.

So... it was said that S3 will only need 2 PCIe connectors to operate, or 4 PCIe if it is overclocked.

We have now learned that overclocking by only 37GH/s makes it unstable to the point that Bitmain won't even do it or it could burn out. Does that mean at there really is no good reason to upgrade all PSUs to ones with 4 PCIe to replace S1 with S3??  Undecided

Im more interested in their comment of "After long time testing, all of the S3 run stably at 441GH/s"

What timeframe are they considering to be "Long time testing" possibly as soon as the Batch 1s went on sale, who knows for sure. "1 x S3 for testing only", sure, no problems eh. )
NONE OF THE USERS ON THIS FORUM CAN PROVE EITHER WAY.

Mmm sounds like great cause for a reduction in the Batch 4 units unless im mistaken.

Also, with the small advantage of overclocking, I personally wouldn't bother with looking for any power supply to power 1, 2 or even 3 of these overclocked. Especially if "Warranty void if overclocked".

Still patiently waiting for Batch 4 prices, as well as Upgrade kit prices for S1 and S2s, although I cant see upgrade kits coming out for a while yet.

Roll on Batch 4 with postage within 48hrs of payment received as per Bitmains previous excellent record and ill be ordering. Until then, im patient. Im happy to wait.

Agreed. This is the first time I have ever bought anything pre-order - and it will be my last.

Also, warranty will void if overclocked.

I'm sure with some heat sinks and good quality thermal paste we will reach 478gh.  If there is one thing I will credit the hardware community on, it is getting the most out of their miners.  Cool

Bitmain are still Nr 1 on my trusted Sellers list and im just waiting for them to release Batch 4 with shipping within 48hrs as normal. Probably also with what will probably be a price that will make all the preorder Batch 1 buyers a tad annoyed, but that was all their choice for accepting to buy and pay for something that was even advertised to have estimated delivery possibly 2 difficulty changes later. Like I said, their CHOICE.

IMPORTANT.

Bitmain posted on the other S3 thread:

to be fair, this isn't an S3 thread. this is a thread about their chips. the one you linked to is the S3 product/support thread as the title lists.

Batch 4 will be a little cheaper, probably for release when Batch1 and 2 start shipping.
