161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taproot lock in in about 20-22 hours on: June 13, 2021, 05:21:40 PM
Aren't they signaling taproot? I Checked the Taproot.watch site and saw MARA signaling for taproot(9/20), earlier they didn't tho, but the latest blocks they mined signaling it.

they only started randomly mining these signalling blocks after it was certain that the majority of hashrate (98%) is already signalling for it and they were left behind. and still they are a small pool that didn't even fully commit!

I don't believe they don't know about Taproot, and simply don't want to mention about it now.
this is a good point. they usually publish things that are in the same direction as the market "mood". and right now the mood is more interested in negative news and lies that positive things that are moving bitcoin forward.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: Not just money but oil is most important in the World on: June 13, 2021, 04:28:17 PM
But most important of all is food. It's not oil nor black gold. When the people are hungry, the nation will have more riots especially in the cities where tents are scattered.

exactly. more important than that is water. they have already predicted that the next world war is going to be about water.
while oil is important but its days are numbered. the countries are already moving away from relying on it and in the upcoming decades we will see it significantly lose its importance too. that is when countries like Saudi Arabia that rely on oil are going to turn into dust.
163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mining plants in China are shutting down. How will this be reflected on Btc on: June 13, 2021, 04:14:56 PM
bitcoin is currently over sold and the trend is side way so no matter what new thing comes out whether FUD or real it won't change that because there is no way to push it any lower and the price isn't ready to go back up again and we are left with disappointing market.
i'm curious why altcoins are still dumping since they should be pumping while bit coin goes side ways.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taproot lock in in about 20-22 hours on: June 12, 2021, 06:00:48 PM
Tarproot is locked-in with overwhelming majority of miners signalling for it. guess who wasn't signalling, MARA pool (the pool that was censoring transactions!!) and a couple of other random blocks from other pools but we should remember the name MARA pool as the malicious bitcoin pool.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran also wants to legalize crypto on: June 11, 2021, 04:36:20 PM
it seems like countries with less corrupt banking systems are adopting bitcoin a lot faster than the developed countries that have such corrupt banking systems that keep slowing down bitcoin adoption in their countries. the sanctions are the catalyst to speed up that adoption.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin (crypto) worth anything at all?? on: June 11, 2021, 03:28:57 PM
"Working hard"  does not guarantee any money at all.

well "working hard" means doing something useful that pays otherwise you can dig a hole in the ground in the middle of the desert all day long and then complain about not making any money while "working hard".
thats the problem with your painting example, if there is no market for it or if the painter is not good at it then it is not "working hard" it is waste of time.

also "working hard" does guarantee money but what it doesn't guarantee is getting rich or living well. what you do with that money (waste it, spend it, invest it to grow) determines your future.
167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Price action looks A LOT like the '18/'19 bear market bottom on: June 11, 2021, 03:09:26 PM
very interesting theory but i think we have to first wait at least another month to figure out what THIS is because right now as we are right in the middle of it and the market crash was very suspicious (started with a big FUD and continued that way) we can't really analyze anything based on that.

but whatever this is, in the past decade whenever price rise slowed down it has been good for bitcoin.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Blockchain and it's connection with real world. on: June 11, 2021, 02:54:49 PM
Carbon credits are permits given to an Individual Industry for how much of CO2 they can emit in environment.
1Carbon Credits represent that 1ton of CO2 is captured by plants and trees.

i don't see where the "blockchain technology" comes in apart from you using it as a buzzword in this topic. a simple website or something like an "industrial union" would work just fine in handling how much CO2 each industry produces. there is no need for some pointless token.
169  Economy / Economics / Re: Official says US seized cryptocurrency ransom paid to Colonial Pipeline hackers on: June 08, 2021, 03:30:45 PM
I'm actually really interested in what they're going to say at the press conference later about how they "seized" the ransom.

if this is indeed real and not some made up story by US government then it is like all the previous times they caught the hackers. these hackers probably had a completely verified coinbase account that they used to send their bitcoins to and got caught.
there are dozens of stories like this so far!!!
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcointalk Market Sentiment Poll 6/8/2021 on: June 08, 2021, 03:12:21 PM
i will only go bearish if price drops down to the $20k range and stays there for at least a week otherwise i remain undecided and am mostly buying bitcoin whenever it dips a little touching the bottom repeatedly and wait for the bull run to resume.
171  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: June 08, 2021, 02:34:30 PM
i couldn't figure one thing out here after this period ends assuming that taproot gets locked in are we going to start rejecting those blocks that don't signal for taproot or does it all end and we forget about it until November that it activates then reject them?
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Don't Want To Hear Anybody Crying When BTC Will Reach 1M Per Coin! on: June 08, 2021, 02:12:07 PM
Do you want to see the tears of Warren Buffett?

you mean tears of joy? he is most probably a big bitcoin owner with a fat wallet otherwise i don't know why anyone would talk about bitcoin this many times like this.
remember that most rich people didn't get rich by chance, they were wise to see opportunities like this Wink
173  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Crypto in Free-Fall again, BTC retesting 30K then all the way to 10k and bel on: June 08, 2021, 01:35:16 PM
altcoins have been free falling for nearly 4 years now. this is nothing new. i don't know even a single altcoin that has been capable of gaining back the pumped up prices they had in 2017 not just their ATH bubbles. the fact that they got pumped for a little while in the past 2 months doesn't mean suddenly the market has changed for them. the altcoin are still getting dumped and will continue to get get dumped until they are dead and replaced by another shitcoin.

meanwhile bitcoin is stable above $30k still.
174  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do You Think Elon Musk Is Afraid? 72 Hrs Have Passed And No BTC Tweet! on: June 08, 2021, 01:28:28 PM
not at all.
he just made a ton of money with the Doge pump and dump and a little bit with shorting bitcoin after his FUD tweets were successful. he doesn't need to do it anymore specially now that the FUD effects on bitcoin have been decreasing to the point that price no longer gives in and stays above $30k despite the large scale attempt.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Life Cycle of Bitcoin on: June 06, 2021, 05:17:43 PM
4. Decline Stage: Everything that has a beginning has an end. At the stage sales deteriorate drastically. And the product will phase off the market unless the product is redesigned.

this is not a guaranteed stage and almost 99% of things you see in the world that are useful never have this stage. for example when paper money was created it took all the first 3 steps and then entered the "thriving stage" as it was mass adopted and used everywhere. the same was repeated when the same paper money became digital when digital banking started.

now it is all being repeated with introduction of bitcoin and after mass adoption we will enter "thriving stage" where bitcoin stays stable and continues working for decades to come.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Doesn’t Exist, Or How Satoshi Nakamoto Tells Lies To People on: June 06, 2021, 04:43:15 PM
just because you don't understand something that doesn't mean that thing is incorrect. you may want to refuse to accept that the earth is round but that doesn't make it flat.
177  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When to Mine the last Bitcoin. on: June 06, 2021, 04:37:12 PM
What mathematical analysis proves that BTC created by 2009 with a fixed supply of 21million.

the math is the block reward in combination with block reward halving.
at the start from first block the reward was 50 bitcoins. then after exactly 210,000 blocks that was automatically cut by half to 25 then after another 210,000 blocks to 12.5 and again to 6.25.
this "halving" will continue 210,000 blocks without exception until it reaches 0 and that is how the supply cap is enforced to be no more than 21 million.
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Taproot lock-in FOMO is coming(?) on: June 03, 2021, 05:27:31 PM
When it comes to price, I don't know if you are referring to the thread from @rdbase, but those who announced that they will bring down the price, at the end of their statement say that after that the price will go to $70k very fast.

no. i didn't even know about that. the $70k price is just the next natural step that bitcoin can take. it was the price it was trying to reach before the FUD began.
there is also a massive amount of  cash waiting on the sidelines to jump back in. most of it is the money that exited the market, not just bitcoin but all the shitcoins that have been pumped during the past couple of months and made traders a ton of money.
a positive signal will ignite a big rise.
179  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you done listening to Elon ? on: June 03, 2021, 04:44:05 PM
many such influential people who might try to manipulate the market again.

i never listened to him but at the same time i was happy that someone as influential had gotten interested in bitcoin specially since he wasn't like most people who only talked about price and the moon. he seemed interested in bitcoin as the decentralized currency.
little did i know that he was a wolf in sheep clothing.

what we need to remember is that next time someone similar comes along to hype things up we should welcome them but also ignore their "hype" and don't give them the attention they may be seeking to later on use to scam people.
180  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Extended seed phrase safe for future updates? on: June 03, 2021, 04:31:53 PM
Is it safe for future updates in the bitcoin network? Or is it possible that this feature will be disabled in the future so I can’t access my wallet anymore?

something nobody mentioned is that "updates in bitcoin network" don't affect the seed phrase electrum uses because the seed algorithm and the key derivation algorithms are not part of the consensus rules. they are specific to the wallet you are using and won't  change as the bitcoin protocol changes.
