wallet updated to 1.5.2 and now resync from a bootstrap file it is a long way  Hey sorry about that. The pulls into my repo are not always 100%. I am going to be adding A LOT of stuff to it over the next few months. Some of it may not work right away. So please keep that mind. Please be sure to create good copies for both the wallet and other vital file before upgrading any of the executable. After full regression testing on test and main net I will pull into the main repo. FYI I plan to implement headers soon into the index so we can run non-staking, lite weight Electrum and Android type wallets. So after that is done, another re-index will be needed. That's point I planned to move to main repo. And then work on other things like hard forks. That said I do appreciate the beta testing, please let me know if you have issues. |

Heyho Tranz Welcome back. You have a Donate adress 4 some HBN's for you Tranz ?  Better to make a faucet that can help new people get started. Devs do not need food or money, they eat bytes. Feed by data that's right. A faucet is a good idea, has to be outside of BCT, but we can link to it. We can also see about getting HBN accepted as tips on Cryptopia. Anyone want take that on?
What about we stimulate the Cryptopia exchange?
Paytopia is there's portal for advertising a coin. It's paid for through Cryptopia's coin DOT.
For example. Having a HBN lottery would be 30k DOT a month or at todays rate (.045 btc)
Adding HBN to the tipping section of chat,etc would be 60k DOT a month.
If exchange users had HBN to spend, it would keep the hbn/btc market flowing while possibly getting new users to look at the coin.
Do we have funds to do something like that? I can donate some HBN(15-20k?), but don't really have btc to directly donate.
Nice ideas. I can create a wallet that will hold the funds if we need. Seems a bit pricey for some of the tipping stuff. $100 a month could go to other better use. But if others are willing to go along so am I.
If I'm wrong I'm sorry but I though hobo nickels were died ? Didn't they almost die out at some stage this year ? I never saw this thread come up. Only now I have seen it. It sounds like it will probably be a good investment.

Hi Tranz, i am supporting HBN for several years with a staking wallet. Have open wallet not permanently. It takes a whole day to sync blocks for around 30 days. Is it only at my wallet or is this normal mode ?
It's normal to take some time to sync the last few months. I am hoping to increase this speed here soon. |

Let's start simple... I think someone posted a bit back that most of these exchanges were asking for at least .5 BTC for adoption onto the exchange. At Cryptopia prices, .5 BTC of HBN from the sell board is 127551.02040816 HBN. ~125K HBN is probably a decent target to start with for a possible crowd funded charity stake node.

Right, but we need the volume to keep the site. We have been there a few times. The volume just isn't there. Have to make sure not to put the cart before the horse. I think the order is as I put out. Update wallet, update network and then go after other exchanges. If I can get the wallet down to a 75% or less CPU and memory. Then other people will be more likely to buy in and thereby increase both volume, price and liquidity. |

WOW... had not staked a block since 2014... staked 29 HBN just now LOL!
Must have been a pretty small block! It staked a second time and confirmed within ~17 hours of the first time it staked. - So you have now came back in 2017-06-16 and so far have staked tow out of your four blocks receiving 28 reward for each stake. So you still have 2 more coming at some point!
Thx! I see two more with high priority in inputs so now that all makes sense! Question for you... have you thought about partnering with one of the exchanges through the charity portion of this coin? Instead of having to pay them BTC, maybe they would host a node split staking a fund for charity, and a fund for running the node. Might be worth at least asking them. Daemonfox that is a great idea, was part of my initial vision. I would like to strengthen the network, the wallet, and the exchange rate first before I would try to pursue that. Time is also a factor, so I would need additional help from the community to help gain the traction we need. |

Once again I call for soft fork segwit .. which is a prerequisite of lighting network - where in fact cross currency transfer will be enabled. My only hope, Tranz, is that we will never get to the NVC situation, where the POS difficulty is so high (currently 5.3), that my 100 NVC stake with maximum coin age just can't make a PoS, even though it says 22% probability in 7 days :/
Z0rr0 yes agreed. But with our 30sec block time, that will never happen. Speaking of NVC, do you have a block count vs memory usage handy? Ok, if i understood correctly, NVC client (v0.5.8.) currently have 344056 blocks and uses 0.1% CPU and 143.7 MB memory. Thanks, so the ratio is about the same, 2k per block. |

I thought HBN was dead, but with recent events, I'm starting to think there could be a resurgence.
Considering rebuilding my wallet. Is there a valid bootstrap out there to DL?
I was thinking the same about TEK coins, but I'm thinking it might dead beyond resurrection. What is Thundertoe doing these days?
A developer does not a coin make. The network has been strong without me. The trading has been good without me. But yes you should get your wallet up and running! Few posts back HCLives has posted Bootstraps. |

Putting the finishing touches on upgrading to Level DB 1.19 https://github.com/Tranz5/HoboNickelsDoing some testing for a few day before calling it complete. It seems to be pretty good so far, but I want to be sure it operates correctly, because once you move to it, you can go back without a reindex or putting an old copy back in place. I'll post an executable after I feel it is safe enough. |
