$300,000 for pizza, hope it was tasty!

Must be nice to have now made ~$100k for whoever delivered it!

Little did laszlo know he would help inspire an entirely new economy, including creating this: http://pizzaforcoins.com/
1282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Worth attempting to solomine LTC on CPU getting ~31kh/s? on: February 23, 2013, 06:05:18 PM
How often on average will I find a block and is it even worth attempting to solomine LTC on my CPU? (I know GPU is more efficient but Im using that to mine BTC)

Ive had problems trying to configure scryptminer to pool mine LTC, despite my best efforts. But I got it working for solo mining.

However, it send my CPU core temps up to around 85-90c, this seems a bit high to be running 24/7, although Im not sure how much this would actually shorten the CPU lifespan if at all.
1283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying to do some Litecoin Mining, not sure if its even working? on: February 23, 2013, 05:01:44 PM
OK, I watched the video, Im doing EXACTLY what he does but scryptminer STILL never gets started. I click on "start mining" and nothing happens, speed stays at 0 and shares NA/NA

What could be causing the problems?
1284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ScryptMiner GUI - Simple GUI for Litecoin mining on: February 23, 2013, 04:48:27 PM
Ive been trying to get scryptminer to work for hours, and I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I extracted scryptminer x64 (Im on windows 7 pro on a q9550), run it, enter my username and password for Pool-X, port 9332, and click start mining.

Nothing happens. Its says "Miner started. It usually takes a minute until the program starts."

But speed stays at 0. Shares accepted N/A Shares Rejected N/A

I watched this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvhpOQHVZpM, Im doing the exact same thing but it never starts and my CPU usage stays at 0-2% across every core.

Why isnt it working???

1288  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: February 23, 2013, 02:03:11 PM
Just wanted to post in this thread to give my endorsement to Seals With Clubs.

Great site, the action is often very good and they have some type of game running 24/7 these days.

If you enjoy poker, its highly recommended, and you dont even need btc to start, as they have true freerolls all the time!

I currently own the Gold Bar (http://bitcoingoldbar.com/), The Gem (http://bitcoingem.com/#), and The Coin (http://www.btcgoldcoin.us/game/)!

I dont mess with creepy looking bears.  Wink

Just pure gambling with some btc I won playing poker on Seals With Clubs https://sealswithclubs.eu/aff.php?aff=186

Action is a little slow on there around 8-9am EST, and sometimes a man with a few beers in him needs his gambling fix ASAP!

Someone buy them back, Im down to battle!

1291  Other / Beginners & Help / Anyone want to sell me a decent FPGA Mining Rig? on: February 22, 2013, 04:42:50 PM
I figure with ASIC about to hit, people are looking to dump their FPGA rigs ASAP.

Im near the back of the ASIC line, and Im just trying to learn more about mining and Im not really worried about short term profitability.

If you have something to sell, let me know, Im not looking to spend much, not in a rush to buy, and Im only looking for something thats great value.

Im not sure how we would handle the transaction. Escrow?

Paypal or btc, or ideally a local cash deal in NYC is best. I can pickup anywhere in NYC with my car.

1293  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do as a newbie... on: February 22, 2013, 03:52:39 PM
Ive definitely browsed this forum for at least 7-8 hours, yet it only say 3.5. I guess they use some sort of 2:1 ratio? lol
1294  Other / Beginners & Help / Trying to do some Litecoin Mining, not sure if its even working? on: February 21, 2013, 03:50:05 PM
Yes, Ive read most of the threads on the site about this, about using p2p mining, scryptminer, minerd, pool's miner, autosolo etc, Ive tried everything to get some 3rd party mining tools to work and Ive even tried to just join a pool using the litecoin client, but it seems its not working. I cant ever seem to find some .bat file people talk about, let alone know how to create one, or a cfg file.

It was so painless to setup GUIminer to work with Slush's pool for btc, Ive had no such luck with ltc.

I appreciate your extreme patience with me, but I want to use the CPU on my desktop to mine some ltc. Im even happy to do it with the basic litecoin client, which Ive downloaded and it has the whole blockchain up to date.

The only way I can get anything to work at all is if I just select Solo Mining, and Start Mining. Then I see my CPU usage on all 4 cores shoot up to 100%.

But Ive left it running for a while like this, and I dont see any progress or status updates, or anything generated.

It just says: Accepted: 0 Rejected: 0 Speed: N/A

If its working like this (please tell me), and will eventually produce something, thats OK. If not, I guess I need some guidance.

If you can super hand hold me through this (ideally getting me into a ltc pool, I think Ive registered for like 4 already - pretend Im a not very bright 7 year old), Ill donate some btc your way!

1295  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free electricity, want to start mining on: February 19, 2013, 06:36:02 AM
The ASIC machines arent quite on the market yet, and if you order now it will probably be 6 months or so before you receive your unit.

Who knows what the mining scene will be like then, but it will likely be highly, highly competitive.

If you want to do it NOW, maybe get a multi-GPU farm going. If the power is free, your risk is low as you can always sell the GPUs back on ebay.

The ASIC machines will likely be doorstops in a few years time, as they can only do one thing.
1296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avlaon or Bfl on: February 19, 2013, 06:32:35 AM
I dont think Avalon is taking orders for a while, they are a tiny company. And BFL is way backed up with thousands of preorders.

I think if you order a BFL now, you *might* get it by September.
1297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your Mhash/s? (Pissing contest here) on: February 19, 2013, 05:51:07 AM
I have a 6850, I think Im getting around 160mh/s, it seems rather low for a decent card, but Im only running GUIminer with stock GPU speed/voltage.

I think its worth it, not really sure my kw/h price ($.16 maybe?), but Im trying to learn a bit more about mining while I wait for my BFL machine to arrive.
1298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Coinbase Account is Mysteriously 20 BTC Short on: February 18, 2013, 01:33:16 AM
They emailed me and said it was related to unconfirmed transactions, I guess they are doing such a high volume its become an issue.

My account still says 30btc but they assured me its not a problem and will be restored soon.

Even though in the back of my head I knew it was in beta, it didnt occur to me that it could be a glitch/bug and assumed the worst.

Anyway, I guess they have it all sorted now and everyones balance should show correctly within a few days.
1299  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Coinbase Account is Mysteriously 20 BTC Short on: February 17, 2013, 05:35:09 PM
Thanks for responding. Im totally new to btc and Coinbase was recommended as the easiest way to get into them, while I learn.

Ive been hitting refresh/sign in/out/in for about 5 hours now, nothing yet, but Im feeling better after you say its just a bug. Hopefully you are right.
1300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Coinbase Account is Mysteriously 20 BTC Short on: February 17, 2013, 05:27:57 PM
How could this have possibly happened? Ive never experienced anything like this with a bank or paypal.

"Oops! We misplaced 40% of the currency in your account. Sorry about that! Our bad!" This isnt really an acceptable answer for me.

What if I had needed it in an emergency? What does this say about the safety, integrity, and reliability of Coinbase?

I know I only have 3 posts here so my credibility is almost nil, but this is real, and Im really quite surprised this would/could happen.

Luckily, if the money isnt recoverable, its not that big a deal to me financially, but its a big bummer as I cant/wont use Coinbase anymore which is convenient for me.

If anyone has any comments, ideas, suggestions, condolences, Id love to hear them, right now, Im just kind of pissed.

I will update the thread later tonight. Thanks
