983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What % of your Crypto Portfolio is BTC? on: May 11, 2013, 01:47:05 AM
Everyone who has LTC thinks it's magically going to skyrocket once it hits MtGox.

Wanna bet?  Grin

Id give 2-1 odds that LTC doubles in value within a month of hitting Gox.
984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBar Didn't Pre-Mine, they were just conveniently ready on: May 10, 2013, 10:34:24 PM
Imagine the multitudes at their keyboards peeing into bottles, afraid to run to the bathroom for fear of missing the narrow launch window of the next scam coin.

Seriously, I lol'd.

People, please dont bother with scamcoin pump n dumps. Just focus on BTC, LTC, and Netcoin when its finally released.
985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPLNS] [ Stratum ] give-me-ltc.com 2% FEE [10 block confirms!] on: May 10, 2013, 09:21:07 PM
OK so I gave it another shot, first few workers connected fine, then as I tried to add a few more while doing some overclocking tweaks to them (starting and stopping the workers repeatedly), then they were unable to connect. So Im guessing you are only allowing a limited number of connection attempts from a single IP as a form of DDOS defense.

But its a double edged sword, because I need to connect over 12 workers from one IP and there are times I need to test OC stability and connect and reconnect. If there was some way to verify my IP as legitimate and allow it, say 50 connection attempts in a 24 hours period, that would be great because as the pool is right now, I cant use it for more than a few workers, and certainly not for stability testing.
986  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: May 09, 2013, 10:50:20 PM
seals with clubs is rigged and filled with colluders.

dont believe me?
watch the full ring tables and notice how it gets empty of a sudden.
this site is doomed to fail.

Dude I play on there every day and not microstakes either. There is no collusion. Shit, I wish people tried to collude against me because usually it means they arent good enough to beat the game fairly and whatever tiny edge they got by sharing hole cards they would certainly give away through their terrible play.

Full games break quickly because usually a very weak player (aka the "fish") will bust out or rack up and sit out, and the rest of the players (regs and good players) will see their edge vs the field has shrunk significantly or is now negative and decide that playing the table isnt worth their time. Its the same on any poker site, go watch $5-10 on pokerstars and see how quickly a 6max breaks when the fish busts out. Sometimes instantly.

Regs not wanting to play other regs and or good players/pros is common on every site. Often I will sit at a 10-20 or 25-50 chip table on SWC waiting by myself for hours and the only times I get action are from new players or lower stake players taking shots - the regs know me and wont sit because even if they have an edge its probably small and therefore the variance will be quite high.

Cheating in online poker is tough to do effectively because if you always see the same 2 players at a cash table or SnG you know something is shady going on, however Im confident enough in my game that I wont deny action to anyone, even a 3handed game vs 2 people sharing a bankroll and hole card info: "Oh he doesnt have an ace cause I folded an ace so you raise all in on top he cant call OH SHIT HE HAS A SET!!!..."

Also, for the truly paranoid, just play heads up. Its impossible to be cheated. If you are looking for HU action, PM me and we can set something up, either HU cash or HU SnG, either is fine by me, anything up to 5000 chip buy in, I dont have a huge roll on Seals so thats as high as I can go for now.

987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OK Mod told me no Child boards - Then "Cyrptocurrencies" Own forum? on: May 09, 2013, 07:08:42 PM
Sure, do it, I will help moderate if you need a body.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More child boards... on: May 09, 2013, 07:05:55 PM
Its 100% not going to happen, sorry guys, it wasn't my decision, but I still don't personally support child boards for each coin even if it was mine to make. There would be 50 new sections that would need to go up daily, and then when an alt coin dies, it would need to be removed, etc etc.

This is the Bitcoin forum with an Altcoin subsection. Its not really designed, or meant to be the official place to be for alt coins. That would be the individual coin's forums.

Well, I guess on a certain level this is OK. Because this subforum is so broken its unusable anymore (5+ pages per day), people will be FORCED into going to the Litecoin forums (https://forum.litecoin.net/), the forums for the alt-mining pools, and other various forums dedicated to other alts or related subjects.

Its going to be an evolution by necessity. If BTCT is the Gox of crypto discussion, its centralization is obviously a huge problem and we need to evolve sooner rather than later, so I for one support letting this subforum nuke itself into oblivion.

989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Technical Analysis on: May 09, 2013, 04:17:57 AM
$5 looks good but the problem for LTC is right now its is positively PEGGED to BTC.

When it hits Gox, it will break out of this hyper-dependency on the BTC price and I agree, $10-20 is possible, not more than that unless BTC goes crazy and pulls the whole crypto-economy up with it.
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHy the fuck so many alt coins? on: May 09, 2013, 04:12:15 AM
Im happy because its keeps the LTC difficulty from being EVEN HIGHER and teaches people the hard way at the same time. Win-win
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Say bye to ripple, prepare to say bye to litecoin on: May 09, 2013, 02:49:06 AM
The problem with Ripple is that OpenCoin could be raided by the feds and then XRP are worth NOTHING.

Also, it isnt mined - and it isnt even close to being scarce. Its made by a FOR_PROFIT_PRIVATE_COMPANY. They have one goal. MAKE MONEY.

BTC and LTC dont have these problems...
992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More child boards... on: May 09, 2013, 02:43:50 AM
Agreed, this board is so cluttered in the last month its almost impossible to read. Its really a disaster now.

It needs a LTC child board, one for other established alternate cryptos like PPC, NMC and TRC, and a New Alt Coins board...

Was a cool article until they mentioned Ripple. They could have mentioned LTC, but instead, just an epic facepalm.

996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ars technica have a BFL product! on: May 09, 2013, 02:02:03 AM
Its really wrong that they are sending units to media outlets to promote more sales when customers who have had their money tied up for 6months sit and watch the difficulty go up and up. Really just shady, because random ArsTech readers will read this and order one not realizing that there is a GIANT backlog and "Shipping Now!" for BFL means "get in line and you might get one in 6 months, if we feel like it and dont go out of business first"
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to mine LTC: s.t very wrong on: May 09, 2013, 12:19:01 AM

But I seem to remember that stratum implies a different difficulty for each miner so hashrates become insignificant, or s.t. like that. Possible?

Hashrate is shown correctly when using Stratum on Coinotron, from my experience.

Hashrate shows correctly but they dont tell you about the crazy high # of stales due to giant botnets mining on there slowing the whole thing down...

Thats why you dont get the # of coins per day that you should. But it seems to be fairly DDOS resistant so maybe OK as a backup pool.
