81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MONERO adopts a new POW Algorithm to fight ASIC on: October 18, 2019, 05:58:33 AM
The thing is there is no way to stop ASICs or FPGA in this case. Period.

Techically correct. It will always be possible to build an ASIC or FPGA to do whatever a CPU can do
because they are all built from logic gates. The most significant difference between an ASIC and a CPU
is it's purpose.

RandomX is essentially a compiler, runtime system and processor all in one. It takes as input
a program which it compiles into its own native machine code then runs it to produce the hash.

So a RandomX ASIC or FPGA miner is just a CPU, compiler and runtime system on a chip that
serves a single purpose.

Seems simple enough. Or is it?

not the only difference, while I agree that all cpus and asics made from logic gates, but the difference could be significant in architectures of the chips.
take for example cpu and gpu, despite they all are used in one pc - their architecture differs so much as their performance
cpu have 4 huge cores while gpu have 8000 small cores - this is just an example.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Earning crypto on games - are you serious? on: October 18, 2019, 05:46:08 AM
I think that those browser games are not the trend right now
great money are made from mobile game market, and on that market crypto is not widespread.
but I doubt it is possible to increase penetration of crypto to mobile market, cause from any mobile it easy to pay for game by fiat on balance of mobile phone
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever been stolen or lost your BTC? on: October 17, 2019, 04:37:34 PM
I lost some btc because of the closure two exchange, cryptopia and coinexchange  .
For troubles with coinexchange I was kinda ready, cause that exchange was looking shady from the very beginning,  the troubles with cryptopia were really unexpected
I do hope that I will be able to return something from cryptopia, but actually, the hope is very small

84  Economy / Economics / Re: Is small business ready to sell for cryptocurrency? on: October 17, 2019, 12:42:05 PM
Small sectors to large industries can all adopt a system from Blockchain that does help various sectors. From traders. Medical to finance all can use the technology, but to realize it requires time and also counseling the community about the new technology , and this will make future dreams about cryptocurrency I am pretty sure that in the next 5-10 years changes will be seen in the era of the system

small business need simplicity. why? because this type of business just can't afford hire more employees to handle additional tasks for accepting crypto currencies, watching exchange rates and so on
that means small businesses will use approved and well know systems - cash payments and card payments
cause the owner simply do not have free time to cover this new way of payment.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you lend in cryptocurrency? on: October 17, 2019, 11:11:51 AM
i did it couple times.
so I lend about 0.5 btc to a friend of mine, he returned exact same amount after few month.
it was just a friendly support without any interests, he just paid fee for transfers

so for me it is very fast and solid way to support friends who is in trouble or just need some money
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before I Invest With Cryptoqurrency? on: October 17, 2019, 11:05:41 AM
it is better to buy bitcoin of you want to get in touch with crypto  Roll Eyes
all other coins will just increase potential risks to loose your investment.
such an altcoin rally may not repeat any times soon, and then what? all your investment vanish?
with bitcoin you have a chance ( at least a chance) to gain some profits  Grin
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are excited everytime we see a new coin without knowing it first on: October 17, 2019, 11:02:13 AM
this one is simple! people want to earn money. so every new project is just a chance to earn some money
either trough bounty campaign or through mining the coin while diff is low,  or maybe help with decoration, web site or media promo for reward
every new project gives these possibilities and people use them
88  Economy / Economics / Re: Can not believe 5 years ago you could of bought one whole bitcoin for this much! on: October 17, 2019, 09:00:55 AM
the price for Ethereum now is about 200$.. don't you see here some analogy  Cool
I mean ok, we lost the time moment to buy bitcoin as low as $$ 300+700 price range
but maybe destiny gives us a chance to win a lottery with eth?
it is popular, have nice tech, it's developing.
why not?
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright as "Bitcoin creator" at a conference in London!!! WTF??? on: October 17, 2019, 08:01:47 AM
until proven otherwise, Craig Wright may well claim that he, and no one else, is the Creator of bitcoin.
hell, yeah! well, the risks of exposure are minimal, but the benefits can be gained quite a lot.
you are invited to all sorts of events. Autographs, fans, accusation of plagiarism and forgery.. the scandals, intrigues, investigation...
and all this together increases your recognition!! you're getting popular!! and maybe this is the point, huh?!
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: October 17, 2019, 04:55:27 AM

91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I have $214 in points must spend them at best buy or lose them. on: October 17, 2019, 04:46:35 AM
I went for the nvidia  should arrive in a few days.

if I were in your shoes, my choice would be the same
or there could be some alternative, here is the point. taking into account the sizes of nowadays games or movies, I could go for a 1TB SSD drive.
may be very handy  Roll Eyes
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MONERO adopts a new POW Algorithm to fight ASIC on: October 17, 2019, 04:24:29 AM
i'm afraid it won't help too much.. this is 3rd change of algorithm for Monero, and within 2-6 month they are facing again with the same problem : increasing numbers of asics or fgpas.
no idea how to fight it and eliminate the problem completely, maybe the strategy they choose - is the only one is possible in this situation.

i wonder, if it possible to change POW somehow that only high level computer language could described and solve it. so then asics will be out.

94  Economy / Economics / Re: LESSONS FROM CRYPTO MARKET on: October 16, 2019, 04:25:18 PM
i'm quite sure that lessons is not learned!
maybe, for some cases only) but when the real hype returns, you will wait for bigger profits again, instead of selling here and now and fix your 20% margin.

it depend not for greed only, crowd technology is working here as well.

if all media shout that bitcoin in 2 month will be 3 times more then right now, it is hard to resist this temptation. your logic says - why sell now and have 20% profit only, listen to these wise men! they are clever then you. they know more then you. do as they say and earn 3 times more! everybody do, as they say!
and you wait instead of selling and fix your profit))
96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Aegis Authenticator, a decent alternative to Google Authenticator and Authy on: October 16, 2019, 04:09:35 PM

The biggest problem with Google Authenticathor is that you will need to manually back up every account in another device, or save the keys offline (manually as well).

If you do not save your 2FA in one device, than save on another, for every website, you will be depending 100% on your device. If you lose the device, you will lose the access to your accounts (all of them).

this is not a problem, this is a mandatory action!
you should always have an backup, no matter what, for google 2fa or for your bitcoin wallet, trust me, i know! backup can save your life. do it regular.
and I think this is second best advise in the whole topic  Cool
98  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Who Controls your Crypto Funds after Death? on: October 16, 2019, 12:32:17 PM
this is very serious question you have raised
shame on me, but I have not thought about it at all!
if anything happens to me, all my crypto active will be lost, I'm afraid Shocked
I think I should speak with my wife and teach her about crypto and that is a very tough task, cause she just knows nothing about it ((

sad
99  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Will you use a Facebook coin? on: October 16, 2019, 12:11:58 PM
taking into account that major investors / players like Amazon, Visa, Master Card  have left Libra project I think the future of this project is very grim.
also feds have questions to telegram token and the the pressure they put on Libra might be links of one chain..
100  Local / Майнеры / Re: Nicehash miner legacy fork (форк программы NHML) on: October 16, 2019, 11:30:53 AM
