241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like some script kiddie is trying to coordinate a price drop for Monday on: April 22, 2013, 12:37:45 PM
Correction 3:30pm UTC

We can stop it from crashing by setting buy orders at 120 also.

I've put mine in already. Provided they can't get through that wall it'll be ok.

Shit 118 would be a safe bet too, would mind a few cheap coins Wink
242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like some script kiddie is trying to coordinate a price drop for Monday on: April 22, 2013, 12:34:16 PM
Yeah Buddy!!

Only 2000 BTC and we'll be back in the 24 range.

Then who will be laughing when it comes 3pm!
243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like some script kiddie is trying to coordinate a price drop for Monday on: April 22, 2013, 12:32:19 PM
Cmon somebody...

Buy! Cheap coins!!

Don't let the script kiddies scare you...

Even if it does go down, it'll rebound back up. Just need a few more k and we can level back up to 125
244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like some script kiddie is trying to coordinate a price drop for Monday on: April 22, 2013, 12:27:56 PM
Shit that 120 wall is coming down fast
245  Economy / Speculation / Price slump on: April 21, 2013, 11:36:19 PM
There is something very deliberate about this price slump.

Maybe I need to wear my tinfoil hat, but I really think somebody's playing games here to buy up cheap coins.

They're in there right now scooping them up..

They have to get in before the Monday open right?
246  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekend slump? on: April 21, 2013, 07:55:40 AM
Also.. In the next few days 120 will look cheap
247  Economy / Speculation / Weekend slump? on: April 21, 2013, 07:54:02 AM
I get the feeling that there's a people trying to take advantage of the weekends low volumes to manipulate the market.

Two reasons
1. So that they can buy in low before new players can get money into the market (on Monday).
2. To make money off people who sell out scared.

My prediction... The price will go up and down for a while, but in between there will be some significant buy orders.
248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Government banning bitcoin?? on: April 20, 2013, 05:52:56 PM
Well quite easy really... Just say it's illegal to trade in bitcoin. Shutdown Mt Gox, and all the other exchanges.

Clearly, they can't get rid of it entirely but they don't need to. Shutting down the exchanges would pretty much mean the end of bitcoin for the mainstream anyway.
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Government banning bitcoin?? on: April 20, 2013, 05:23:28 PM
they can make it illegal though
250  Economy / Speculation / Government banning bitcoin?? on: April 20, 2013, 05:03:50 PM
This really worries me.

What chance does bitcoin have of long term survival if the governments can shut it down any day of the week?

251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to cash out? Me thinks a correction is coming on: April 19, 2013, 07:48:21 AM
My problem is I keep getting burned trying to day trade.

End up paying $200 in fees every time. Plus a loss if the market moves in the wrong direction.

Fuck gox and their fees.

Wait a minute... just fuck Gox..
252  Economy / Speculation / Good time to cash out? Me thinks a correction is coming on: April 19, 2013, 07:41:57 AM
No good reason to stick in tonight?

It's not going to break 130..

It's gone up 30% in less than a day.

Can't be sustainable. The question is... how high to climb before you dump
253  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who's lost money? Some people must have on: April 18, 2013, 04:34:53 PM
Turned profit. Bought below $5, sold around $190.
Good one.. I got bitcoins in the range 4-13$ and sold them at 27. You have to have now some good bucks..   Smiley
If I didn't spent a lot, and didn't sell my last hundred at 27$ I would be driving right now a BMW Z4.  Cry  Cry

I made the same mistake... saw the market slow down over a weekend at $27 and pulled out...Missed out big
254  Economy / Speculation / Re: All my friends now interested in bitcoin !! on: April 18, 2013, 09:13:44 AM
So I was talking about bitcoin many months ago when I invested.

Now everyone's coming back to me because they've seen it on the news and they're hooked!

This is why I still bought in at $95 cause it makes me think there's pressure for it to go up.

Especially now it looks like it's reached bottom.

Seen some huge purchases lately.

If we break through 100 I imagine a wall is going to form somewhere around 90, but I know that's a big if..

How many friends do you have? 3? 30? 300?

Ok I might have been exaggerating . Not all of them. but nearly say around 4/7 people that I talked with about bitcoin have mentioned it to me since the crash.

And I haven't seen those other 3 since the crash, so if they bring it up then that's more

How the hell did you buy so near to an obvious resistance point ($100)? It's so clear you will be able to buy at least $10 cheaper ($85ish), why do you people like to give away your money?

Well, I guess that's where speculators make their profit.

Well it's not clear that I can buy at 85... $1.17M needs to be sold to get to 85..

I've lost too many times trying to place buy orders at a value, and the price has shot past it..

I tried it in the 30s the 40s, and finally in the 70s I decided I'd buy at market unless I had a good reason not to.

Now that I'm trading in USD it's probably not so bad, but I didn't want to miss out, on the wall crashing down
256  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who's lost money? Some people must have on: April 18, 2013, 09:01:14 AM
I think this is one of the few currencies you can actually manipulate the value of.

For instance imagine if people held bitcoin flashs mobs, or a bitcoin protest on wall-street shouting at the bankers
"stop buying up our coins" ... "stop raising the price"
"stop buying up our coins" ... "stop raising the price"
"stop buying up our coins" ... "stop raising the price"

Get enough people there, and you'll get media attention.

Get media attention, about people complaining about the value going up and... well. who knows.

Most of us here want the price to go up, anyone want to organise it.

The occupy wall street for bitcoin!

258  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help... Mt Gox has lost my money? on: April 18, 2013, 03:38:28 AM
Their sending addresses are not receiving addresses for the specified account. An Mt.Gox account doesn't work like a standard wallet. They even have a warning on the withdrawal page that their system doesn't work with SatoshiDICE.

Regardless, they could return your funds, just out of courtesy. It can be proved that you paid SatoshiDICE from your account and that payment came back to the sending address just like after your withdrawal, and the amount is equal to the amount you should have received from that SatoshiDICE address......

It reminds me to the case when I accidentally clicked BUY instead of SELL. I opened a ticket, but they refused to reverse the order. But then, if they see it might cause a problem, they could implement a mechanism to double-verify orders - like Vircurex does that you need to "release" your order before it actually gets traded, thus you get another chance to verify it.

I've done that as well... My time I accidentally clicked sell, and sold my entire holdings. I was up at that point, and decided not to buy back in. A big mistake.

They need a confirmation screen.
259  Economy / Trading Discussion / Help... Mt Gox has lost my money? on: April 17, 2013, 10:04:03 PM
I should've been paid 1.14719885BTC from satoshi dice. Except I ticked send from a green address..

The funds must've come back to gox. I sent more funds using that option, and it came from the same address.

Am I wrong? Am I missing something?

It's possible, but seems to me the help desk staff might be new, and are the ones who don't understand the system

What can I do now? should I pursue this further?

Mt.Gox Support, Apr 17 22:25 (JST):
Hello,

As stated, we have checked that address and it is no longer an Mt.Gox receiving address. It may belong to someone else now which we cannot trace who the address belongs to. This is why we have a warning beside the bitcoin address in the withdrawal page that our system does not work with SathoshiDice.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me, Apr 17 18:23 (JST):
Hi

I understand that the green address may now be used by someone else.

But where did the 1.14719885 BTC go that was sent back to it?

That money was received by Mt. Gox at that address and must have gone somewhere

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mt.Gox Support, Apr 17 13:12 (JST):
Hello,

Please understand how our system works. The sending address is used only once and then can become someone else`s address that is not linked to your account at all. Therefore, we cannot link it to your account because now it belongs to someone else.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me, Apr 17 13:08 (JST):
Hi,

I clicked the use green address option, which as I understand is not a one-time use generated address.

From my understanding this means Mt Gox uses a special address for that payment, that it maintains so that receivers can verify the identity of the sender.

This address is still making and receiving payments.

It can be seen on the blockchain that this belongs to Mt. Gox
https://blockchain.info/address/1LNWw6yCxkUmkhArb2Nf2MPw6vG7u5WG7q

I’m sure this issue would’ve come up before. Can you please escalate it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mt.Gox Support, Apr 17 12:35 (JST):
Hello,

As mentioned earlier, the sending address is a one-time use generated address. 1LNWw6yCxkUmkhArb2Nf2MPw6vG7u5WG7q is no longer an Mt.Gox address and therefore, we are unable to retrieve any funds.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me, Apr 17 12:28 (JST):
Hi,

Yes. I understand that the outgoing transaction cannot be reversed from your end.

However, I have found out that satoshi dice has sent my mone back to Mt. Gox.

Unfortunately, since I sent it from a green address, this was paid back to the Mt Gox green address and this has not made it back to my account..

I have been looking at the blockchain and I can see this is the transaction id
16ef3025a6a9bdd92dcc97ea316a0d769e8150a55532ae451c2184c9a210cef5

Looking up this transaction on the satoshi dice website,
http://www.satoshidice.com/lookup.php?tx=16ef3025a6a9bdd92dcc97ea316a0d769e8150a55532ae451c2184c9a210cef5

Shows that 1.14719885 BTC was returned to me, but paid to the Mt Gox green address(1LNWw6yCxkUmkhArb2Nf2MPw6vG7u5WG7q).
Under this transaction
c687129238e0a01b0c3e3ff3d0ca3fd565b9f2480fb9c8dd863a45924c30369c

Mt Gox, now has been credited with 1.14719885 BTC, and I am requesting it be returned to my account.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mt.Gox Support, Apr 17 01:22 (JST):
Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, bitcoin withdrawals are irreversible. We would advise you to contact the bitcoin address service provider to retrieve your funds and ask them to send it to the address you see at Funding Options>Add Funds>Bitcoins and not the sending address as that address is a one-time use address. Our apologies for the inconvenience caused and please let us know how we can be of further assistance to you.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me, Apr 16 21:14 (JST):
Hi,

I sent this as a support request also. (#*****)
Just saw this email now

I did something silly. I sent 1BTC across to satoshi dice, and accidentally
ticked the "from green address" option.

I sent it to this address
1dicegEArYHgbwQZhvr5G9Ah2s7SFuW1y

It hasn't shown up on the block chain yet... If it hasn't been sent, could
it please be cancelled.

Otherwise if it has, and I've won with the money has being returned to gox,
could you please credit the money back into my account.

tl;dr

Models.. Whatever, it's just like that overrated chart people keep posting. Complete baloney..

BTC can't be put into some generic bubble basket.

In fact I compared that stupid red chart the everyone posts, to the .com crash, and it's not even close.

Not that I'm saying bitcoin is .com, but it's got a lot of potential now.
