2. Allow pricing in something else than BTC (it can still be only traded in BTC) such as LTC, USD, EUR...

How would the price for shares be calculated - there's no exact trade value for BTC to USD or LTC etc - they'd have to be set on an exchange..

And this would assume that BitFunder has a stock pile of BTC that they're happy to accept LTC and USD for - it doesn't seem like a practical alternative..

If they added LTC companies which you can buy and sell shares of it would work, but I dont think it works for buying BTC shares for LTC

Hey my brother has a miner

What sort of price would you pay for the cards - if it's a good offer I'll try and convince him to sell them separately

324  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] AMC-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: May 30, 2013, 09:13:56 PM
It looks like someone put in a sell order of over 2k shares at .00089999 (probably someone who bought at .0005) at the same time kslaughter had a large sell order at .0009.

kslaughter then changed his .0009 sell order to .00089998 so it would jump in front of the .0008999 sell order.

The shananagans continue...

I think more folks would take this IPO more seriously if the IPO price wasn't being manipulated so blatantly. For example, kslaughter said there would be 20,000,000 early adopter shares available at .0005, but has continued to try to force the price of early adopter shares up with large sell orders at .0005, .0006, then .0007, .0008, and then .0009.

As I was typing this email, a large block of shares just showed up at .0008!

Bakewell only wishes he had these talents

Its called a market.

No, I believe it's called market manipulation.

AMC is a hybrid Bitcoin mining and development cooperative describing itself as "the next big mining cooperative" is releasing today an offering to early-adopters of Five million (5,000,000) BitFunder virtual shares and issuing another twenty million (20,000,000) BitFunder virtual shares which will be used for the growth and expansion fund, which will receive a total of 100% of the company's virtual-currency profits after all expenses until the total dividends paid is equal to the offering price of .0005 BTC per share and 12 months have elapsed since the initial offering. The Cooperative is hoping to raise up to 2,500 Bitcoins. The offering price will be 0.0005 Bitcoins for the first 20,000,000 early-adopter shares thereafter the price will be .001 BTC per share. If demand is strong enough then share prices may increase throughout the IPO.

The first 20m shares were to be sold at BTC0.0005, the market is now at 40m shares,  it's not clear how we have got to 40m from the stated 5m and 20m but I guess it's to do with the rapid growth AMC has seen

The second issue of 20m shares should be selling at BTC0.001 by the estimated time they would be released, but the stock is doing very well now and I can see why slaughter wants to stock as many miners as possible, to get their foot in the door so they can compete with Avalon

I think slaughter is in his right to sell the shares as he can - in the long run, it will pay off by allowing him to purchase the 20,000 chips he has promised

I agree he should be more open about business but people need to understand he's clearly very busy. He's promised us a lot and we are right to expect high standards, but if he spends all his time responding to everyone grilling him all the time, he's not going to get a lot of work done..
325  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Bitcoin/Litecoin miner on: May 30, 2013, 07:03:06 PM
He'll also throw in the extra 2 cooling fans and 2 PCIE risers for free - the motherboard also has an extra slot so you can fit another graphics card

Oh and it has a power switch too Smiley

This miner is pretty much setup to mine any coin you'll just need to download the required miner software!

If you're looking for plug in and play this rig is perfect - the cards could also be salvaged and added to your gaming rig

For sale as a unit

CDKey-Hut Approved with some notes attached.
Id like to hear from any forum members who do win a cdkey.

Ive tested it as much as you can test a "win a prize" game, I personally prefer to win btc back but its good to see some variety being offered Smiley

I plan on adding the chance to win private keys loaded with BTCBTC soon in the future, granted it won't be quite the same but you'll be able to win bits
329  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] AMC - Active Mining Cooperative on: May 29, 2013, 01:14:02 PM

AMC Offering:

AMC's offering is comprised of 100,000,000 shares in total.

1 share of AMC on BitFunder represents 1/100,000,000th of 100% of the monthly profits after all expenses.

AMC shares offer no voting rights. Shares of AMC on BitFunder do not represent real world shares of the
company.  The shares are solely a distribution mechanism for rights to profits.

20,000,000 shares will be retained by AMC to maintain a growth and expansion fund.

As of the time of this writing, up to 40,000,000 will be released over time to the public on a varying
time scale as capital is required to complete the project.  Any remaining shares not included in the
IPO are owned/maintained/controlled by AMC.
These shares will be used at the issuers discretion
for any uses deemed fit. These uses are not limited to, but may include employment.

Shares not issued are owned by AMC which is indirectly implying that the founders are owning more than 60% of the shares. I'm also wondering what you mean by R&D. Aren't the miners developed by VMC which, as you have stated before, is a different company.

I think that the shares will be used to fund the company so in theory it will work out better for the shareholders if the company reinvests the money from the unsold shares

I think the timer is there so people actually have time to read up about bitcoin - it's very easy to spam the forums with 25 posts but to spend 4 hours in the forum you're bound to at least learn something
335  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Rejected Shares, I don't get it. on: May 28, 2013, 10:11:48 AM
Stale shares - Stales are shares that have been sent after the block has been solved - so basically your rig is mining behind the rest of the pool.

Make sure your internet is up to speed and you might find you'll need to bump up the power of your rig so your shares are accepted faster

336  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin - International Ponzi Scheme on: May 28, 2013, 10:05:46 AM
First things first, I will outline what makes a scheme a Ponzi scheme.

Named after Charles Ponzi, a notorious con man who became known in the 1920s, offering investors a great return on their investment (up to 100% over 90 days) by investing into international reply coupons (IRCs). These coupons held the value of the cost of international postage in the country they were purchased, but could be redeemed for enough stamps to cover the cost of postage they were redeemed in. The money was to be made by purchasing IRCs in countries with low postage rates and redeeming them in the US for profit, the net profit from these transactions could yield in excess of 400%.

Unfortunately the idea never took off as Ponzi found he was unable to redeem them in the states. Undeterred, Ponzi proposed this business opportunity to his friends in Boston. Business soon took off and Ponzi soon started to hire agents to process orders for clients and to find more potential clients, offering great commission for every dollar they made him. Of cause Ponzi had never made a penny, his business was technically non-existent, the only money it made was through investors, early investors would be paid off their debt through later investors and late investors paid off by later investors, or even by early investors.

This is how a Ponzi scheme works, you lure investors in with a great return, and pay them back with their own money, or money from other investors. In the end you simply cannot pay investors back because your company has not earnt a single penny, from the word go a Ponzi scheme loses money.

By the peak of his career Ponzi was raking in over $250,000 a day, by the time he was caught out he was in excess of $7 million in debt. His investors lost over $20 million ($225 million in 2011) the scheme also caused 5 banks to collapse.

So, the big question. Is Bitcoin a Ponzi scheme?

We will start with two different coins, Bitcoin and Ponzicoin.

Bitcoin is a decentralized currency with a cap of 21 Million coins, each coin can only be generated through pure computing power, which is used to process transactions and rewards new Bitcoin every 10 minutes.

Ponzicoin is a centralized currency to which coins can be generated at will, it has no cap, but to generate more coins you must purchase from the the Ponzi Reserve. For every 100,000 Ponzicoins that are sold the price to purchase coins goes up by 5%. Coins can be traded freely, but there is a set 2.9% fee per transaction. It's also owned by Paypal.

Neither coin has any inherent value, the value of Bitcoin comes from trade and exchanges based on what users are willing to pay, in theory the more widely used the currency, the higher the price will be.

The value of Ponzicoin comes from the current price at the Ponzi Reserve. The value can only rise and the integrity of the currency relies on a continued flow of purchases to driv...

337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is AMC? on: May 28, 2013, 08:20:51 AM
AMC is active mining corporation, a company who purchased a load of avalon miners, which you can buy shares for and share the profit..

AMC American Coin is a new coin it looks like, based on litecoin it rewards 100 coin per block.

The question the op asked was what does 'there are xx blocks left until coins will be rewarded.' mean

I can only assume the network is currently open for mining but you will not be generating any coin until the timer hits 0, this is to give miners a chance to setup their rigs in anticipation of release. Rather than for the makers to start mining before anyone else has the chance thus pre-mining a ton of blocks
338  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS pair of RARE Google Glass for BTC! NONE FOR SALE ANYWHERE! on: May 27, 2013, 03:25:20 PM
Um why would anyone buy these for 90k when everyone can just buy them for $1500 in another couple months? Thats like charging $50,000 for an iphone 5s... whats with the price gougers  lately...

Probably because if someone listened to you thinking they could buy them in a couple of months they would be very upset with you in a couple of months.

That's my guess... since you can't buy them for 1,500 in a couple of months....

Also, have you even read the posts here... No one is trying to sell them for 90k. That was a snip from a news article from like a month ago. Pay attention if you want to troll...
I do belive that google said they plan on releaseing it to users at the end of 2013 early 2014. so that is only 6/7 months

Unofficially from I/O it's mid 2014, IF you believe companies hit their estimated release days. More realistically I'd expect more 2015 being that release days always get pushed back.
2015 your crazy,Mid 2014 is the latest. The only company that gets away with pushing back the date 1 year is BFL.

http://www.t3.com/news/google-glass-price-release-date-specs-and-info

Google said at last I/O it was mid-2014 currently but I honestly predict with a product this big and innovative that'll continue to get pushed back further. We shall see.

Well you're the one who will know how complete and ready they are based on the prototype you have - I assume it's prototype as if they had the glasses ready they would be planning on shipping them soon.

If yours is a prototype I would hold on to it, if it's a fully working model we can assume they'll be ready to ship in the next few months

So tell us, how good are they?
