462  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitmit and Co. are buyers markets because they are a way to get bitcoins on: March 01, 2013, 10:59:38 AM
eBay > 1 Trillion Daily Users

BitMit < 1 Billion Daily Users

There are a ton more sellers and buyers on ebay, naturally prices will be lower as the auction site is congested to hell, bitmit is a relatively new site with a not commonly used currency, which people want a lot of.. the only way you can see BitMit succeed is by using it yourself and by spreading the word as much you can, hopefully all the time and effort people put in to bitcoin will pay off when it becomes and 'accepted' currency but until then you'll have to accept rarely selling anything for a good price, if at all

466  Economy / Service Announcements / CDKey-Hut.com - Instant Delivery on Xbox Live, Steam, CD Keys and more on: February 26, 2013, 11:59:54 AM
CDKey-Hut.com Xbox Live, Steam Games, CD Keys and more all for sale in Bitcoin!
All products are emailed after your payment has been confirmed so you can maximize your gaming time while saving money as well, lets get this economy going!

I have been quite busy at work recently and so I feel I have neglected the store, I have been trying to keep it stocked at fair prices and keep the site entertaining, but this isn't always possible.. For this reason I have decided to do a site revamp and rewrite near all of the code, if not all. This will make it much easier for me to maintain and easier to add new features.

It will take a little while to complete and will most likely be completely undetectable to anyone other than myself, but hopefully the rebuild will let me add new features much easier as well as keep track of the casino which I think is becoming more popular

Hi,

I am Nilam Doctor, I am developing http://rbitco.in and http://paybitco.in These will be designed to use Bitcoin currency and it provides facilities for offering clients:

  • Safe banking
  • Printing
  • Mobile payments
  • Vanity address
  • Messaging
  • new features...

I would like to get promoted for posting on other discussions.

Why should we trust that the websites you are promoting are not scams that will steal peoples bitcoin eventually?

I would suggest it probably is a scam - he's offering free bitcoins but apparently only for his address
https://rbitco.in/articles/free

And the other site I get a warning error 'The site's security certificate is not trusted!'

I have setup a website which sells CD keys in exchange for Bitcoins, currently I do not have much stock but I will be expanding if enough interest is generated.

Prices will be kept as fair as possible and I hope people will enjoy using the site, currently they are not emailed after purchase and you can only pay using Mt.Gox, I will be changing this in the future!

The url is http://cdkey-hut.com/ and find us on twitter at https://twitter.com/cdkeyhut

I will also be looking into alternative currency's such as Litecoins but for now I will stick with Bitcoin

Thanks
469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do you see bitcoins in 5 year? on: February 25, 2013, 07:46:17 PM
It's definitely too hard to say i think within the next few years they will steadily grow in demand and perhaps another currency will come about which will be able to rival or even surpass bitcoin and it would be interesting to know whether or not bitcoin will remain or if it will be considered the birth of ecurrencys or if it is completely forgotten due to a even more revolutionary idea

One thing i have to say is i dont see the government as any kind of threat to the life of bitcoin, as I have seen the idea passed about of the government buying all the bitcoin they can and trying to manipulate the market as shown with the many bitcoin clones and similar ideas, they can easily be revived with a different name and slight different behavior and because of this there would be no sense trying to kill one currency when in the amount of time it took you to buy enough of the said currency 10 more have appeared all in increasing popularity and increasing value.

It would be interesting to see how bitcoin is used by large corporations like google who have spent a lot of time and resources developing google wallet which shows the same aspects of bitcoin (in a day to day spending sense) but of cause uses conventional currency and acts as a payment processor, it will be interesting to see how google reacts to bitcoin. Though I do hope it some how manages to bring down paypal

One thing is for sure, electronic currencys will continue to be popular and we will see a big advancement on how they are used

471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: February 24, 2013, 11:38:00 PM
Hi I'd like to be whitelisted, I want to start trading in bitcoin and I understand the basics of it, all transactions are recorded and so if somewhere down the line a transaction pops up which is not registered with other peers it is dealt as suspicious and depending on who owns the majority share of information their version of the transaction will be deemed the correct one - that is a very poorly explained version of the 51% attack theory

More importantly I would like to be white listed so that I can start trading I would like to setup my ecommerce site to trade with bitcoin which hopefully will make me some money but also increase how many people know about and actively use bitcoin as I do feel it is something great and something very interesting to be part of and know more about

473  Other / Beginners & Help / 'Best' Bitcoin wallet on: February 24, 2013, 11:00:20 PM
Hi guys I'm relatively new to the concept of Bitcoins, I had heard of them a few months ago but never really cared for the idea until now. I am thinking of getting into the bitcoin world by buying and selling with the currency I have MultiBit setup on my computer but have decided to use BlockChains online wallet as I think it will be easier and will allow me to access it globally rather than just from my pc.

Obviously as I have chosen to chose and online wallet there will always be a slightly higher risk of security but as I stated before I can access the account from anywhere and it is very easy to backup and if my computer dies I will always have access to my wallet..

As bitcoin users which method do you prefer, and which method do you think is safer, if my business model works I will be handling fairly high numbers of bitcoins and obviously would like my wallet to be as secure as possible

I read aiwk171's article on how to have a 100% secure wallet which was quite interesting and actually seems like a very good idea

So what do other people use?
474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes the bitcoin price go up and down? on: February 24, 2013, 10:53:12 PM
Supply and demand is the most likely culprit, as bitcoins become more popular their price will rise and as more bitcoins come into the market their price will drop in theory bitcoins will come to a point where they have a set price though as people will always be buying and selling and trading with them their price can never be exact its the same reason any currency fluxuates
475  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do i Find BitCoin Address on: February 24, 2013, 10:49:26 PM
Do you have bitcoin installed to your PC?

If so it's just a case of clicking 'receive money' and it will show your receiving public key
