21  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Casascius 1 BTC silver coin /w gold gilt (funded) on: November 23, 2017, 06:14:52 AM
kinda crappy laser ring on the holo, and scratched up as well.....what about pics with the coin OUTSIDE the plastic airtite? Yeah, 2.2BTC is laughable....

I'm open to offers on it, if you're interested please message me.

I don't have gloves at my house so would rather keep it in the airtite, I can assure you it's not scratched though, it's only been taken out once to move it to a better case. I cant comment on the position on the holo, that's wasn't in my control
22  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Casascius 1 BTC silver coin /w gold gilt (funded) on: November 22, 2017, 06:37:25 PM

Thanks Smiley

If anyone has any questions about the coin please feel free to PM or as on the thread Smiley

Any pics of the holo side?

Quite hard to get a good image with just my phone, but hopefully you can see it's intact and read the first bits

I don't understand this post?

You're preaching to the choir, I imagine everyone on this forum is here for the same reason, they follow Bitcoin and understand what the implications of it existing are..

From what I gather from this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326947.0) payouts are automatic, I'm not sure how frequently this means though

I'd say contact them if you're desperate for a payout Smiley
27  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The History Of Bitcoin! on: November 19, 2017, 11:53:07 AM
I thought this would be helpful for anyone thinking of getting into Bitcoins Smiley

Read here: https://cryptodaily.co.uk/the-history-of-bitcoin/

thanks for sharing...
what got my attention in the overview was in 2010, when A programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz, who lived in Florida pays 10,000 Bitcoins on a pizza, that was originally bought from Papa Johns by a volunteer in England. The exchange rate at the time put the purchase price for the pizza at 25USD. comparing the exchange rate between 2010 and now, we can see bitcoin has come to rule the global currencies.

I think we're quite a bit off bitcoin "ruling" the global currencies. But it is certainly interesting that such a simple idea could have such an impact on the way we treat money and the way we treat true ownership rather than relying on a 3rd party for everything Smiley
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment strategies on: November 19, 2017, 11:45:26 AM
I think you need to follow every ICO very carefully if you want to invest in them, make sure you do duedil on the background of the company & the members involved and if you do not feel 100% comfortable with their proposed business plan don't invest. We're still in the wildwest of crpyto and there's plenty of people looking for a quick buck.

The same goes with alt coins - if they're promising over the odds then it's likely to be a cash grab. Only invest if you 100% support the vision of the project and try not to follow the crowd (if it goes up 100% in a day then it's probably hit its peak and will crash)

Bottom line, DYOR - do your own research. No one knows what will actually be successful but if you're smart about where you invest you can minimise the damage to your holdings
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO guaranteeing Returns on: November 19, 2017, 11:42:03 AM
Could you please explain your model & what your project actually wants to achieve, all I can gather from your website & white paper is that BOT coin is going to make me rich using machine learning and blockchain..

You also claim you're 70% of the way to creating your product, please explain what is left to write & how you came to the conclusion you are almost finished

You also offer a  "QUICK ROI - Successful Model with quick ROI" and "MINIMUM GUARANTEE - Minimum Guarantee of 1% every month" please explain what a 'Quick ROI' means and how it will be achieved as well as what the minimum guarantee of 1% per month means

A sub domain is going to be a lot more trust worthy IMO - plus it will save you buying another domain just to advertise an ICO! Smiley
31  Bitcoin / Project Development / Blockchain development meetups (London) on: November 18, 2017, 08:34:27 PM
Hey guys,

First off, sorry if this is the wrong spot (mods please move if necessary)

I was wondering if anyone knew of any meet ups where developers could work together to teach & learn blockchain tech within London?

There are a lot of meet ups surrounding the topic but thus far I haven't found any purely focused on learning to develop on the blockchain applications.

I'm currently trying to learn Solidity and it would be great to meet with like minded people to discuss ideas, learn and practice our skills with.

If anyone knows anywhere that hosts a similar event please let me know!

Thanks Smiley

33  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to connect bitcoin wallet using node js / create btc transaction website on: November 09, 2017, 07:32:14 PM
What's your skill level with JavaScript  node?

I'd recommend brushing up on your JS knowledge before playing with this Bitcoin library.

The library seems pretty concised so when once you get a good base of JS it should be quite simple
34  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 0.1BTC Casascius Silver Token For Sale on: November 09, 2017, 03:23:40 PM
Glad no one fell for this, pretty weak scam attempt overall... Also asking for over market value is pretty ambitious when running a con!
35  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Interest check - Yet another physical crypto-coin on: November 09, 2017, 09:28:36 AM
Hey guys,

Thanks so much for all the advice and support, really great to see so much enthusiasm!

I'll take everything into consideration, I appreciate the comments about not gunning for a profit and doing it for the love. I have a lot of hopes for the project and hopefully can create something unique for the community Smiley

As mentioned, security is something I'm very keen on pushing, I want to be very transparent with the way we've created the coins to ensure confidence

I'll have a chat with my friend today and see how we want to proceed Smiley

Thanks again guys!
36  Economy / Collectibles / Interest check - Yet another physical crypto-coin on: November 08, 2017, 04:44:38 PM
Hey guys, first off sorry if this is the wrong place, wasn't sure where was best for this..

So as the title suggests myself and some friends are looking to jump on the physical coin bandwagon.

There are a lot of coins in the market so we wanted to make something unique - and we have a few ideas for that.

What I wanted to see is if anyone had any ideas for designs they'd like to see and any features either on or not on coins that they like or dislike.

The plan is to make the coins as affordable as possible but also have a premium look and feel (should you want to take them out the case)

Any advice from previous coin makers would be really appreciated, I have a lot of hope for this project and it would be great to have something special to share with the Blockchain community !

37  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2016 Titan Physical Bitcoins for sale - Silver and 24k Gold on: November 08, 2017, 04:20:54 PM

Well - I responded to Titanbtc offer - and was hoping to go thru their website (which now seems to be not quite fully functional ?) - do you know what's going on there ?
Thx,
a.h.

They're sold out of their 2016 issue, I believe they have BTC0.1 rounds coming out for 2017 soon but I don't know about BTC1

Your best bet is to make a new thread to see if anyone has a BTC1 available for sale - this thread isn't the place
38  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1996 NBA ALL STAR TEAM SIGNED JERSEY 33 SIGNATURES / w CoA / Only 1 WorldWide on: November 08, 2017, 04:19:27 PM

I tried appraising it through valuemystuff service, but wasn't happy, as they told me I that I have probably slightly overpaid and to do a proper evaluation they needed it on hand, and since Im from the East its kinda tough and looks risky for me, but I can travel with it for a face to face deal as well. And I was thinking its a bargain deal back in the day, Jordan only jersey is $2grand, Jordan and Kobe is $6grand and price increases in progression with every other HoF signature there, $25k with 33 sigs and one jersey available worldwide was a nobrainer for me.

But again, Ill consider anything from a 5 digit range or single digit btc Cheesy

It certainly looks like an interesting collectors piece and surely one I'd be interested to see the sale price.

I don't know anything about sports memorabilia, but maybe it's worth seeing if you can find a forum which fanatics can trade on?
39  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1996 NBA ALL STAR TEAM SIGNED JERSEY 33 SIGNATURES / w CoA / Only 1 WorldWide on: November 08, 2017, 01:42:44 PM
I would think because of how specific and unique this item is, it would be best to get an appraisal first to give a guideline price and then see what offers flow from that.

I don't know how many avid sports fans are on this forum and those who are probably don't have $25k to spend on a signed jersey

Either way, good luck with the sale it's a really interesting piece!
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: $1 Million BOUNTY! (Pre-Sale Begins) LydianCoin - Intelligent Marketing Platform on: November 08, 2017, 09:22:14 AM
Just a note for everyone to watch themselves with this presale

https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2017/09/25/as-founder-faces-possible-jail-time-an-inside-look-at-lydiancoin-paris-hilton-endorsed-cryptocurrency/#53acf4867cca

It looks like this company isn't in the best shape and their CEO isn't very nice either..

"In 2014, he pleaded guilty to abusing his then-girlfriend"

"Now, he not only faces possible jail time for violating probation"

Also it seems the coin is only good for prepaying for their marketing platform - the coins won't be worth anything unless you actually want to use them to market your business
