721  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] btcQuick - Bitcoin Sales Service on: March 29, 2013, 03:55:03 AM
Any plans to implement ACH or linking bank accounts to BTCQuick? It's the only reason why Coinbase has any customers. Credit/Debit card transactions and linking bank accounts would be amazing.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that is the total Bitcoin network?

I posted my reply to your first post before reading your second one. It's to maintain and see what an actual AM share value is (compared to PT shares). This was just an idea; if people don't like it, that's fine too. Are we prepared to have AM share threads spam the Auction sub forum?

This was what I had in mind: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArEKHOCcuc3fdDJhQVhzZkZzWkNOeTJjRTRsWGV5Z0E#gid=0

We could slowly add people to be able to access/edit the doc. It shows a revision history so those that abuse it could have their access removed.

This way, it doesn't have to be just one person. Thoughts?

My thought is to open it up and have people put in their quotes. People can and will other people's edits. For one person to do it themselves, it's not fair unless we're paying that one person to be updating it on a constant basis for the next several weeks.

This exactly. Whoever volunteers to take care on this order book is welcome to step up. I refused to continue for a simple reason: maintaining the order book also implies arbitration responsibility, which in this case is not possible. We can't dispute rules that were not specified but have been assumed to be common sense.

As lessons learned, whoever decides to continue the orderbook should
  • start a new thread
  • specify the exact rules (including those we forgot/missed here)
  • import existing quotes from this thread
for a clean and fresh start.

Good Luck

Acknowledged and those interested in collaborating, please reply here. I have a few ideas but will need the input of others for it to be successful.

Is this thread still active?
If it isn't, then close it.

Are we going to take Uglux's case as an exceptional case and move forward, or just give up?

Well the 2/3 folks who were running the orderbook have indicated a preference to close it. If you want to volunteer to keep the order book up to date, and "moderate" this thread, I'm sure there is still some use to be had. If you are going to do that, I'd clarify some of the "unwritten" rules.

Helixone, I have some ideas and would be willing to help. Will pm you in about 5-6 hours for details.
728  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 27, 2013, 04:16:25 PM
First week's normal dividends paid. The balance payment of the next batch, as well as the premium for a full-mask to guarantee our quantity production (200 TH/s or more, depending on how well BTC/USD could do) within the next three months, are partly taken from this week's revenue and the next week's. So the dividends within these two weeks are lower than normal.

I'll take the dividend cut now for more hashpower later, investing for the future is always smart. Was 200 TH/s a typo because holy $#!+ if that is correct. friedcat for president!

I would be wary, I've bought 3 coins from them a week ago (before the issues started). Now, I'm currently sitting at -10 coins. Still waiting a response from them.

Do you have a timeline for your chip development? What makes your chip different and competitive to what is available? Are there plans in place if there are delays? You're coming late into the ASIC gen, delays mean significantly lower returns to investors. How will you account for that?

738  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help with a buy ASIC Jalapeno on: March 23, 2013, 05:37:10 PM
No, there are multiple reasons why:

1) It's BFL, search the forums. They have been delaying their schedule continuously and many even question if there is a real product.

2) Increasing network difficulty, check out this link: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining#The_Difficulty_Metric

3) Place in Pre-Order List: There are tons of folks who have orders 6-10 months ago for ASIC hardware, be prepared to wait months.

If you're interested in the concept and don't mind waiting awhile, go ahead. With how the mining landscape is changing, expect that you will not break even if you buy hardware now (unless you're going large scale).

Hope this helps
739  Economy / Speculation / Re: CRASHHHHHHHHHH!!!11 on: March 23, 2013, 09:43:01 AM
I feel sorry for whoever sold their coins at 50 bucks tonight... Damn

I do not, suckers should be taught a lesson. Who the hell trades at all and even panics in such a shallow market. All this volatility over weekends is pretty much irrelevant it only serves to liberating bitcoins from nervous nellies.

Shhh!!! Don't tell them, come on!!
740  Economy / Speculation / Re: CRASHHHHHHHHHH!!!11 on: March 23, 2013, 09:05:16 AM
why is it dropping so hard though? Is t5here one major player selling all his coin or something.

I dont like to see 20$ drops in a day!

Just lots of people selling I'd imagine. I wonder what will happen when North America wakes up.

I never went to sleep! (In U.S.) Gah! SCREW COINBASE!
