Best Bitcoin iPhone app I've used, keep it up!!!

Would there be any plans to enter wallet adresses to monitor balances?
402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: single BFL chip USB Miner idea (evolved to Furby) on: June 18, 2013, 05:37:46 AM
OK, so it's a dumb idea... nevermind.

what about other interfaces, do any deliver required power for a single chip? POE? firewire maybe?

I hate external power supplies...

Not at all a dumb idea. The jalapeņos are still using first gen chips, 2 of them and a PCB build for originally up to 8 chips.

According to the power spec for the new chips is a power consumption of 3.2 w per GH. This may not be 'USB only' territory but I think a small 1-chip design could still be an interesting proposition for 4 gh/s single chip miners.
so 3.2 *4 = 12.8W, POE is good for 31.6 W i think, so we can have an 8GH/s device designed using 2 chips that can connect to POE....
Hmmmm, i call it "Furby"... cause they would mysteriously fill up all IT closets and all available POE ports on network switches...

anyone want to take this Furby design up?  what would motivate you?

Would it have fur, a beak, and glossy, soul-less eyes? If so, count me in!

Anyone have an idea of what's going on with the hashrate?

Friedcat has previously held off on hash rate to maximize yields later on (see friedcat's March 14th post). Or they might start selling off used blades in preparation for redesigned blades. It's anyone's guess.
404  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is Avalon mining with customer hardware? Answer is here. on: June 18, 2013, 01:31:09 AM
We have yet to hear from Yifu's half but honestly, what is going to happen? He could basically just shrug and say "What are you going to do about it?" Caveat emptor for the "supposed batch 4"
405  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 17, 2013, 04:45:45 PM
Avalon just lost all good will with the BTCTalk community and potentially any future customers. A shame and a pity to those that ordered from them.

In a normal stock market AM might be rallying right now. Go, go, speculators!

Personally, I think it's worse than BFL. Using customers' hardware to mine coins for themselves?

Regardless, ASICMiner now has something that both BFL and now Avalon doesn't have: the trust of the community.

Better think twice about ordering from Avalon again.

Speaking of rumors, apparently Avalon has been mining with customer hardware (now confirmed)

Circuitry has a very good point.
Most people are hoarding and holding there bitcoins.
They are holding them in expectation that the price will go up.
There really is no Bitcoin economy. Most of the investment instruments, stocks on sites like Bitfunder, are investments in mining or investments in companies that loan money. (Bitpride is the exception, they sell t-shorts with bitcoin logos.)

Until you can use bitcoin to buy non-technological goods, and items other than alpaca sox, like jewelry, chocolate, food stuff, clothing, things that you need for daily life, then Bitcoin will have a little incestuous economy of being generated by bitcoiners to be sold on markets where speculators buy them and hold them or try to flip them, but where most bitcoin are held and not used.

If you want to make bitcoin viable, then convince your fiat bank to also have a hosted bitcoin wallet, convince your pizza place on the corner to accept bitcoin, convince the local frozen yogurt store to accept bitcoin.

Bitspend.net and Bitsumo.com

Both offer ways to buy what you want/need online for a reasonable fee. No need to deal with currency exchange sites.
410  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 16, 2013, 03:24:10 PM
My speculated fair value: 6.3 BTC per share.

wow, that's a whole lot of optimism!

They won't be getting the same value for the blades as they were before, mainly because of competitors, and lowering ROI.

Also, mining revenue (as we have just discussed) will probably be decreasing.  It doesn't matter that they have 200TH, because 200 TH in 2 months is not the same as 200TH today. Instead, think of it as a % of the total hash rate.  If they can keep 20%, then we are looking at consistent .015/share per week.

This is under the assumption that there are no plans to expand beyond the announced 262 TH/s. Do you think friedcat and the rest of the folks at BitFountain are saying "We've mined enough coins, we'll just let ASICMiner fade away now"? Once there is enough network hashrate online, I'm sure shareholders will be hearing more about further expansion plans....
411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: June 16, 2013, 02:01:05 PM
lol,i m starting to like google translate.

To summary what I said at btcman:

1. we will sell hardware from AUG/SEP but no pre-sale, the longest possible duration between payment day and shipping day is 50days.
2. IPO will most likely be executed later than 1,  but due to some legal problem in china, there will be only international version ANN,no chinese. (I would also like to collect advices from community, which stock platform is recommanded)

Everything ,at the moment ,running pretty well. Thank you everyone paying attention to us,please  be a little more patient .

I would suggest not putting them on a single platform, rather to keep track of them on your own (similar to AM). If you feel inclined to use a platform, then spread it out among all of them as equally as possible. Everyone has their own reasons to choosing certain platforms, best not to alienate any potential investors.
412  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] G.ASICMINER-PT on: June 16, 2013, 05:40:59 AM
are there limits on turning PT to Direct AM shares?

For DeaDTerra's PT, it's a minimum of 250 shares to take out of BitFunder.

This smells like a bubble, and I hope we get back to consistent, sustainable growth.

That wasn't a bubble. It sprung up suddenly because it was held back for 3 weeks by a huge wall.

Consistent, sustainable growth will be resumed shortly...

before the huge wall, it was certainly forming a bubble.  easing back a bit, and growing slower will be better.  I think the weekend dip+lower dividends next week will take care of that, anyway.

the demand is backing off, and that's a good thing.

You're saying that a 30x increase in value (from IPO prices) over the course of 10 months isn't reasonable?! What madness is this?!?

Just posting another reminder for those that have questions for friedcat. A few of us have started to compile questions for submission. Please keep in mind that it is very possible he may not answer some/any questions but would still like to submit them, on behalf of the "minority shareholders."

The plan is to submit these questions on a monthly basis.

Use "Q/A for ASICMiner" for the subject line.
415  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 14, 2013, 04:03:50 PM
It is very possible that there will be people that get their hands on the redesigned Block Eruptor blade before some people get their Avalon batch 3? And let's not get started with BFL...
416  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: June 14, 2013, 03:39:20 PM
NOTE: This is a repost from BTCman.com (link below)

Too sleepy to briefly say something about the meaning:

1. On an ASIC BTCMAN mining machine project: we've already done a simple BITCOINTALK ANN ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=213172.0 ) Currently, because of legal issues, BTCGARDEN aspects of the IPO itself will only consider temporarily shelved or future international operations, but the mining machine will start as soon as the retail sector, you can focus www.btcgarden.com , specific information will be BTCMAN forum, bit people Microblogging http://weibo.com/btcman, TALK forum post-post, and BTCGARDEN on release.

2. On technology: Our mining machine from the chip level, has been to the system level, all for self-development, team principal technical staff from the Chinese Academy of Sciences a few clinics INTEL, NVIDIA's ASIC senior experts. Specific technical parameters will be released later. Or posted in reference to the above outlined ANN. For all the DIY team, the stability of the machine, the chip supply chain, sales, delivery speed, upgrade advantage is self-evident.

3. On the reservation and sale: As of now, BTCGARDEN project cash flow sufficient to withhold require prepayment or scheduled payments support, release the main purpose is to promote the message, we will maximize the use of spot transactions, rather than in the foreseeable future Reservations. Of course, if the whole network operator appears 7-8 months soared other force than expected, we accelerate progress in order to expand the scale and may also take pre-sale, etc. - but the earliest pre-dates not from the date of shipment more than 50 days. Currently, the mining machine finished fastest time is to be expected from August to September. Not for sale, then the order will be shipped to consider some of the weighting factors, such as: BTCMAN Fellow, BTCSEA large volume users will certainly priority delivery.

4. On Q & A: Up to now, we have received about BTCGARDEN ASIC issues related to the mining machine, I will soon be made in the form of Q & A in the update posted in this thread, members will try to reply to the question, if you have any related needs, do not open another post, please use the thread under way in this thread to reply, I will reply as soon as possible. Please note: only welcome serious issues related to all Pengci, disinformation, took the opportunity to advertise reply, all permanent ban ID.

The updated Q & A:
Q: how pricing ah? Will sell expensive?
A: This is a pseudo-problem, or the expensive price of the product is based on the market to decide whether, at any time, consumer products than expected subjective feel "expensive", there is a means of checks and balances --- can not buy. Of course, at this stage, the two brands of domestic products have been granted but the price ridiculously low prices abroad several brands but the basics are futures, we might be a reasonable price, physical delivery, brand perfect first home.

Q: Do you model specifically what will be? Room to sell shares to sell calculate force, or sell the mining machine.
A: Because the legal issues, the domestic market may only sell the mining machine. International markets may consider IPO, may at any time attention.

Q: What about the mining machine specifications? Several vendors now Which is the most reliable?
A: Veneer probably 16G, so the mining machine should have 50G, 100G, 200G and other several options, we have a generation of mining machine may be installed flat panel displays, and thus from the PC autonomous mining, fool of operation. Several of the current ASIC manufacturer, personal point of view as follows:

KNC: most do not fly. Actually, no matter what products to buy, buy before you do a bit of understanding of the field, and then pass through the
brain to think about, is the most basic needs.

BFL: To date still is an industry first, the amount of the highest order, but things seem to be getting funny (even in the same price today, the case
of self-1500G of the mining machine into a 500G). Overall, though notorious, but better than some of the KNC still fly. From a technical point of
view, there have been very serious butterfly short board, the industry's first seat of the future is almost certain to be replaced.

BITFURY: current information, the technology is good. Business plan is also doing good. But they approach being taken completely out of the
mainstream IC industry model, risky, the failure rate is high, the probability of delay is bounced 100%.

Relying on many AVALON chip team: not unfortunately have to say. Basically similar to the open stuffing dumpling shop, but he did not only
responsible for homemade dumpling skin, filling completely rely on the introduction of the supply, apply the netizen's words: "12-person team, two
techniques." Remaining group of executives, managers, partners I do not know what is mainly responsible.
In fact, currency Bitcoin as a new area of freedom, in business there are a new set of model, the current mix many angel investors do not
come in also for this reason: that is, unable to adapt to the modern business thinking bitcoin, as more Eupolyphaga TV shopping showy style that
set, or come away. BTC now know how to play are smart people, to flicker, a little premature.

ASICMINER: for some reason, they will not have public comment.

AVALON: the world's first one ASIC team, no matter what the current credit crisis hit (selling customer watermelon, eat watermelon own tip on the
grounds that help customers taste sweet and not sweet approach does not agree), or rely on than a butterfly spectrum.

there's like $12K on BF before 2.8, too

uh, well, not any more...

$1k has been eaten so far on havelock

We are looking at 3BTC/share this weekend Boys n Girls.

Think so? People like selling shares after divs because they have funds to trade. I see 3 BTC next Wednesday, this weekend might be a little early.

fool me once, shame on me. Fool me everyday for more than a year and I will start ignoring your existence. BFL is a figment of our imagination. Like unicorns, like the boogie man, no no fried cats are real, that is a different story.

But really 4 btc is a stretch for the price, Beside those 12 shares I bought at a high price because I didnt want the div money to just sit. And now I prefer to sell them at a small profit because shares bought at 2.x are riskier than the ones bought at 1.x and those are riskier than those at IPO price.

Catch my drift?

I'm just teasing, no one will fault you for taking profits.

People said 2 BTC/share was crazy a month ago. Do you think Avalon will ship batch 3 AND BFL ship en masse (more than 50 units a day) within the next month or two?

Shares seem to be selling well at 2.7 each now that the 2.5 wall is gone.

Planning on selling 12 shares for 3 btc each! Nothing less. The bull in me has spoken.

Why are you going to sell AM shares for 3 BTC each when you know they're going to be worth 4?  Grin
